INCREDIBLE chicken caesar hoagie with sea salt chips!!! Man, that was a great sandwich. Completely altered the trajectory of every beach day to come this season. Genuinely one of the better sandwiches I've ever had. So much chicken breast. Great texture with the chip crunch. Truly zero complaints.

This Gateway Subs is hidden behind the Walmart and Post Office. It's in a small plaza with other restaurants. There is limited on site parking, but there's also a street parking available. Michelle took my order and made my sandwich, she was very nice and friendly. Gateway Subs are my new favorite subs! This location has plenty of indoor seating.

Half Spicy Italian, chips and dragonfruit lemonade

The moment I walked in I was greeted with a smile!! I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted and a very nice female employee asked if I like spicy or non spicy. I responded with spicy and she suggested the spicy Italian. The sandwich was very tasty and the bread tasted fresh and was super soft! Honestly the bread was the star of the show for me. The restaurant was very clean and well maintained. They have cool artwork on the walls which made it feel welcoming and fun. Please stop in and support local business.

Heard many good things about this place. From the food being good and the folks very friendly. Both were true! Decided I needed a cold sandwich fix. Headed here after putting my order in online. Place was busy and a bit of a line but not bad. Once I told them I ordered online they pulled up my order and I was good to go. Wish I had sat there and had some of it but weather was bad and wanted to get back while there was a break. The sandwich was so good! The Italian is pretty standard but they had seasonings that really set it apart. The bread was amazing. Others have said how it holds up and it does. Really well-made sandwich. Definitely adding this to my sandwich rotation

First off, love this location and love their subs. Stopped by to try a new sub because I almost ALWAYS get the Turkey Bacon sub. I was first greeted and then I chatted up with the workers who gave me great recommendations. I decided to go with the Hail Caesar and I loved it. I ate half at home and took the rest to work the next day and it was still very good. I look forward to coming back and ordering a new sub next time!

The Juicy Tree Climber half sub, no mayo add cool ranch Doritos

I am not typically a big sandwich gal but the sub here was delicious! I got the Juicy Tree Climber, which had all really fresh ingredients and delicious sauces. I really liked the addition of the sweet peppers on there and will definitely make sure I get those on any sandwich here! I also added cool ranch Doritos and they added a great flavor and crunch. The meat here is super high quality and they cut it to order right there. I also love the construction of these sandwiches, as the top slice of meat keeps everything in place when you bite into it. The ambiance is nice, just a typical sandwich shop but very nice and clean, and the service was great as well. The workers were friendly and helpful with any substitutions/additions. I will definitely be back!

I got the Beach and my husband got Da Beast. Each of us insisted we won and I think we both did. Meats freshly cut to order, sandwiches made with care, fresh bread and ingredients and fair prices. If I lived closer, I'd be there weekly #Eatlocal #gatewaysubsstpete #SupportSmallBusiness #realtordogmom #foodie #tampabayrealtor #GratefulandBlessed #bridget_breland_realtor #Bridgie_Breland_Foodie #yelptampabay #yelpelite

I went in the AM (not too early), but it's good to know that they serve breakfast ALL DAY. The local sub place is spacey, cute, chill, and clean. Service was quick and friendly! Most importantly, they had GOOD FOOD AND GREAT COFFEE! If you want a spot to get a good breakfast and coffee deal.. this is the place! All kinds of coffee too! Loved it! Will be back! A (also, the cheesecake is DELICIOUS)

Turkey provolone
Billi B.

Possibly one of the better turkey provolone subs I've had! I'm not sure how I discovered this place but I was really hungry that day and wanted something convenient. As I entered I was greeted by friendly good mornings and the staff did a great job at going over the menu with me. Super chill ambiance. They have so many options available I'm sure you'll find what you like. I ended up ordering the turkey provolone on white bread with lettuce, olives, onions and banana peppers. Not sure what sauce they put in it because I told them to add what usually goes with this sub but overall it was a great sandwich!

They have over 300 artisanal, imported and domestic cheeses, I find something new every time I go! The ambiance is what makes it special to locals, it feels like stepping into a traditional Italian market and it's hard to find elsewhere in Tampa. Definitely a staple for St. Pete! The market is almost always busy, so go right when they open or later in the afternoon on weekdays or you'll be standing shoulder to shoulder and wait 15 to 30 minutes, but honestly that time is perfect for browsing everything! My go to orders are the Mortadella Pistachio and the Fig & Pig. They are $12 each, and yes a bit pricey but the freshness and quality make it worth it.

A fresh produce, meat, fish, sausage, pickled olives, section. You walk further down and Theres the grab and go food section. Then to the left you have wine and cheese. You go further in, and Theres a fancy cheese section. Unfortunately they don't give small amounts of cheeses and cut it for you. But you can buy some really good cheeses here. Then you go back to the very narrow hallway, and Theres a ton of coffee on the left. I just got into coffee and am a coffee snob. I noticed there was a "greasy" looking bean. Which just means it's well past its freshness. The price of bean actually isnt that bad. And they offer a lot of varieties. We bought two, Guatemala and organic Mexico. I wanted to try it out before writing this review. The Guatemala one was light, faint. The Mexico was a bit deeper flavor. I would recommend to management to better advertise the coffee bean so the product moves and stays fresh, or maybe move it to a different section where people can feel comfortable getting it. It gets so crowded in the hallway. I would leave the hallway was a grab and go area. You keep walking down and you have the coffee shop to the right, and a small bread stand to the left. Of course we got coffee. Theres a small area of seating to get coffee for there. Theres a big roaster to give the appearance that they roast their own coffee but I believe it's just for decoration. Fiancé got a cappuccino. It was okay. He normally doesn't get coffee with too much milk but the waitress said there was 3 shots of espresso in there. I would say it didn't taste like 3 shots. It taste like coffee with 90% milk. And it should be told to customers that a cappuccino there is more milk with coffee. I got the con panno. Which is espresso with whipped cream. I'm not sure if the whip cream they use is fresh, or if it's super sweetened, but my coffee was sweet. It was thick which I like but I didn't like whatever sweetener they used. But I'd probably order a macchiato if I ever came back so I could taste the coffee. On the other side of the coffee shop is the sandwiches and prepared food that you order. Sandwiches are HUGE. Fiancé had the #1 with all the fixings. It was nice but if you don't like soggy sandwiches, you can ask for no veggies. Which we would do next time. I had the 7, no sun-dried tomatoes and no veggies. It was so good. The mozzerella was very fresh! If you walk past that you have the dried cured meat, and down a hallway to the right you'll find dried pasta and fresh pasta. The fresh pasta looked so good. I wished we lived in the area so I could try. You head back the other way and pass the outdoor seating and Theres also a place for you to check out you grocery/sandwiches. Right next to that section you have the pantry area of canned fish, pickled things, olive oil. Then Theres the bread and pastry area. We only had time to see these and no time to see what other stores they had or walk around. But I'd definitely come back to check those out.

I noticed they were at one point awarded best of the bay which could just be locals supporting local businesses which is typically how that list goes, because I would definitely not vote this as the best Cuban sandwich. Cute little local shop with mostly outside covered seating and a couple inside two seaters. This is an order at the counter restaurant near treasure island/madeira beach. Great flavor but where is the pork? The meats were limited and the most important one very scarce. They also want $11 for just the sandwich. Was it the worst I've had? No. Was it authentic? Yes. Would i recommend this Cuban sandwich? Sadly, no. If it were half that price and you just wanted a cubano I would say yes. But if you are looking for a truly good cuban sandwich because you've never had one or are craving one, I would not send you here. Decent. But not great.
