Cool little hidden gem in Largo. A blast from the past when you walk inside with cozy vintage vibes. Friendly staff and quick service made for a great takeout experience. I got the cold turkey sub which was a great portion size and delicious! The bread was nice and soft, turkey was plentiful and the veggies with the sub dressing were the perfect topping. You can definitely split a sandwich between two people - I couldn't finish mine! I also got the onion rings which were perfectly crunchy and fried to absolutely prime flavor! The only negative was that we got a very yummy-looking brownie that was not good. It was dry and seemed to be a little old. We had to throw it away. Stopped in to order a gyro for dinner and service was great from staff!! Order was taken efficiently, food was prepared quickly and there was a generous amount of meat in the gyro which was awesome!!! I ordered the sandwich to go, but while waiting the restaurant was pleasant with a quiet atmosphere. I felt rushed as soon as I stepped up, I was the only one in the place too. I asked about the subs and the woman said, "one Italian everything"?... I said yeah I guess, "please". Then she couldn't figure out how to use my card as credit and she kept telling me a pin was required for credit too, its not. I almost walked out because I don't like when people are so interested in my pin number. Then a guy came over and he was helpful and it kept me from walking out, because I was about to leave. So I get home and my Italian sub is slathered in mayo! Only weirdos put mayo on Italian subs. And the amount of mayo on the sub was gross.... "Everything" on an Italain sub is lettuce, tomatoes,onions, oil and vinegar and maybe hot peppers. Where I come from you get kicked out for asking for mayo on an Italian sub...Not sure I'll go back, if I do it will be to give them the business for mayo on an Italian sub. I've been passing by here for years and finally pulled the trigger for lunch here last week. As always I want to order everything off the menu but alas I ordered two sandwiches and an appetizer. My favorite was THE WORKZ which is their steak sub with Bell Peppers, Mushrooms and Mildly Hot Banana peppers. It was tasty and the bread was soft and amazing. It was the right amount of steak and toppings. My second fav was their Eggplant Parm Sandwich. The only thing I wish this sandwich had was more sauce. Next time, I will get some on the side. Then I saw a previous review which called for the Breaded Mushrooms. I'm glad I did that as they were deep fried perfectly and the quantity was just right! If you plan on getting your order to go, I would call ahead of time perhaps 10 minutes ahead of time. That seems to be the right play to make for this place. Wow!!! Delicious delicious chicken gyro. The chicken was amazing, the tzatziki or toum or whatever sauce they put on it was DELICIOUS. Plenty of onions and a toasty grilled pita. Amazing. Also amazing fries. Perfectly cooked and perfectly salted. So delicious. Now, let me say, the price was a bit high. Almost $19 for a chicken pita, fries and a fountain drink. That's pretty darn high, however, the quality was so above the norm, the price didn't sting as bad. They should do a combo for $15 or something. I have been a loyal customer of largo subs ever since moving to Largo 2 years ago. During that 2 years I have watched their price for a hamburger go from 4.99 to 7.30. The food is fabulous well at least their burgers, reminded me of old burger stands from the 90s when the burgers were really grilled and taste like they are right off the BBQ. Service is not great, today I called in an order 30 min before I planned on picking it up. I arrive and only half of my order is done. So I wait another 30! Minutes for them to make a second burger which they forgot to put on the order. In the end I had a cold burger and a hot burger and not apologies no free fries no nothing... just here's your food bye. Prices go up while service goes way down. Although I love their burgers I will never order their again. Service means more to me than almost anything else. How you treat your clients is how you treat the food you cook. read more

Ben talks about this place every time we drive past, he went to school at Largo High way back in the day and said this was the place everyone went to after school was let out. He mentioned that they had fried mushrooms, which is what has stuck with me. It is actually kinda difficult to find places that still have fried mushrooms on the menu these days, for whatever reason. Many places that had them before have removed them from the menu, much to my dislike!! The mushrooms is exactly what I went for on my first visit. I called the order in before and while they were finishing up in the fryer, I took the time to look around a little. I went on a Friday and though it was midday and before classes were out, the small diner was still pretty busy. The place is what I would call a dive, which is perfectly okay as I'd rather them focus on great food and keep the costs low while doing so. I took the mushrooms to go and I love that they were piping hot as I ate them on the way home. To some, they may have been too hot since they just came out of the fryer but to me, that is perfect! They passed the mushroom test so next time I will try one of their numerous other options along with more mushrooms, of course! read more

I've been going here for years. I usually get the Gyro which is always good but occasionally switch it up with a steak sandwich. Today I had the steak sandwich combo that costs about $13.50 with tax and comes with fries and a drink. The sandwich is good sized and the bread is very good. Unfortunately the amount of beef is less than a typical single patty McDonald's hamburger. I bit into one half of the sandwich, opened it up and took this picture. While the sandwich tasted good the lack of protein was disappointing and not a good value in my opinion. I will stick with the Gyros. read more

Greeted immediately and ordered the steak sandwich with the "works" for carryout. I live maybe 5 miles away but the roll was soggy from the grease and the ridiculous amount of mayo on the sandwich. Meat was plentiful but I didn't really get much cheese or maybe I couldn't taste it because of the mayo. Not sure. I ended up eating just the meat and forgoing the bread due to the mayo and grease oil slick. Ordered a side of onion rings and they definitely were on the skimpy side even though tasted good. The service and staff were fantastic! Greeted me and my wife and were very polite and attentive. I ordered a roast beef sub, my wife got a turkey sub. The amount of meat and vegetables (L,T,O) and salt, pepper, mayo were fair portions. Why 2 stars? The meat quality was meh for the roast beef, and poor for the turkey- turkey actually looked fake. Both meats were bland- my wife threw her sub out- first time I ever saw her do that. I was really, really hungry so I finished mine. We're used to Boar's Head quality meat and not the cheap cuts used by Largo Subs. The subs were expensive, too- $20.50 for 2 subs! Should be listed as $$ and not $. In hindsight I probably should have gone with a gyro or steak and cheese sub, but won't be back now. Too bad, as the people were really nice and I love subs. read more
