I booked here way in advance for our early September trip, we were seated on the open air balcony with Newquay marina as the back drop. It seemed a little chilly to be seated outside at this time of year, but lo and behold they already thought it out with plastic covers at both sides of the balcony and heaters right at every dining tables. Not only did it create a cozy ambiance but made it warm and comfortable as well. We started our dinner with salt and pepper calamari to share with a glass of Rose and I then ordered Brown crab with salad and fries on the side, while my partner ordered grilled pollock. The dishes were undoubtedly fresh and came out in timely fashion. It is beauty about traveling, discovering new places and truly enjoying it. This experience was made even more awesome due to the hospitality and great customer service from the staff. A must try if you happen to be in Newquay!

Very noisy and some loud buzzing sound coming from the kitchen. Music is on loud trying to cover the noise.. Not working lol. They had surf and turf. Surf was ok.. Turf was undercooked and no flavor. I had fish and chips. Big piece of fish and large chunks of chips. Will say I didn't try the peas. Fish was ok, flavorless batter tho. Our young server didn't seem like she wanted to wait on us, but figure that's because we are Americans. She only came to check on us once. Younger man was very friendly.

I went for two starters, so 2nd one was: whelks on sourdough bread. Yes. With the right amount of chewiness, watercress on the side...I cannot express how much I loved it. Didn't eat bread as am not a bread person but shell fish....yum. The menu didn't have dairy-free desserts so they made me dairy-free pavlova which was so absolutely perfect - I'm taking off my imaginary hat. Service was good - attentive and making me feel very welcome. If you're ever in Newquay - go for it.

The only thing she could eat here was chips. I had the mixed fish linguini, my partner had some chips and my daughter had the children's tomato linguini. The Fish was very special; freshly cooked prawns and lovely mussels. The linguini in both dishes was cooked to perfection. Service was quick and polite. The chips were amazing which was brilliant for my partner as all holiday she has seen everyone around her eat lovely food while all she could eat was the most basic things. The restaurant still has an old charm to it, it hasn't been polished into a chic modern restaurant, and I love it more for this.

It was a lovely little farm, with cute towns and another farm (that makes cider) nearby. In the main building, there are detailed descriptions of how the farm and the dairy work, including photos, video, and a peek into the facilities themselves. It wasn't crowded - even on a Saturday (though note that you can't see the dairy workers live on Saturdays). There were farm animals you could pet or see (pigs, chicks, etc.), and a place to wash your hands afterwards. The gift shop was cute: it sold fudge, stuffed animals, greeting cards, books, plates, and of course, ice cream. The tea room had ample flavors, and the cashier/ice cream scooper was very kind and charming. I enjoyed the chocolate fudge flavor, and my friends liked their white chocolate hazelnut and mint chocolate chip. They also offered clotted cream vanilla, clotted cream strawberry, clotted cream black currant, cherry jubilee, pistachio, oriental ginger, honeycomb crunch, banoffee, and lemon sorbet. Looks like the flavors vary depending on when you visit. I'm so glad we stopped here. It was an excellent way to break up the drive.

We're talking rich, creamy, made with fresh fruit and clotted cream, bursting with flavour, sweet but not overpowering, icy wonderfulness here. The first time I had this, I was in shock ice cream could be this amazing. Fast forward 7 years, and I don't feel like I'm actually home unless my visit has involved eating Callestick Farm ice cream. The absolute best is the blackcurrant & cream (made with Cornish clotted cream!!!) ice cream, but I'm not positive they're still making that. Otherwise, the strawberry and cream is a close second! Best of all, not only can you get these by going to the farm (which I've done) but now, you can also pick up pints at Sainsbury's, and tons of local restaurants, tourist traps (does every English Heritage site in Cornwall stock Callestick?), and shops also sell Callestick... Sometimes I'm really surprised that I don't leave Cornwall weighing 10 pounds more than when I arrived... and also, really grateful I can't get this stuff in Canada.
