Great place to sample beers. I'm certainly promiscuous for beers, among other things. Beermiscuous has a ton of selections from local breweries to choose from. Many that haven't gotten their due, and these can be gotten here. The prices are about what they are at a craft brewery, so it's not like it's cheap, but it has much better quality. Because it's in the middle of a hipster area, it's expected that there's a hipster selection to get. It has a few on tap, and many more in bottles and cans, many of which are local. There were a few I never heard of. Good prices for these kinds of beers. It's about $7 a pint. There's a few ones that are more expensive because those are stronger. I had the Seipp's Bavarian Hefweizen. This has slight banana notes with cloves, and it was pretty refreshing and smooth. For sure beers are the main things to get here. I was impressed by the beer and really turned off by the unfriendly bartender. In my experience, most craft beer establishments have bartenders who are engaging, this guy was more interested in getting to know the girl at the end of the bar. It also did not help that they have a mask requirement for standing. I had to put on my mask to walk 8 feet to sit down in July of 2022. As was explained to me later by the manager, they have some one on staff who is immune compromised so I respect the requirement. Still, there are better places in my opinion to drink beer in Chicago and I will try one of them next time I'm in town. Beermiscuous was recommended to me by a patron I met at another beer establishment. I had high expectations because on top of having great craft beer, this establishment has also published a book with a beer guide and tour of Chicago based on rail lines. My love and I met up with a couple of peeps at Beermiscuous recently. Located on Lincoln near Diversey, this is a beer emporium where you can enjoy soooooo many kinds of craft beers. As things are starting to open up again, there is now limited indoor seating available along with a smidge of outdoor seating on the sidewalk of Lincoln Avenue. The four of us felt perfectly comfortable seated at an indoor table in the corner. You can order food and bring it in to eat along with your beers (we had a Pat's Pizza from down the street). It's fun to look at the "Chicagoland Map of Breweries" and the beer stickers on the walls. Beermiscuous serves a rotation of beers on tap, and supposedly everything on draft is available as a 4-ounce pour so you can create your own beer flight. One of the servers seemed reluctant to do a flight though (more work to do I guess), so my love and I only ordered one flight and then asked for larger pours after that. We also bought several cans of local beers to go from the eyepopping selections available in the coolers. read more

I'm a big fan of The Beer Temple and places like Beer on the wall, so I'm always looking for bars like those. Beermiscuous is different and at first I was a little hesitant after sitting down because their draft list has brews I've had in other places. After my first beer, I found out that you can also purchase beer and other drinks out of their self serve coolers which they'll pour for you to enjoy. They have an expansive selection, and the staff is very knowledgeable if you want help picking out a beer. They have a draft menu as well. I love that you can get a discount if you buy beer-to-go. They are BYOF, so I love grabbing a bite from a nearby restaurant, but they also sell some snacks. They ask for proof of vaccination upon entry as well. When you come in, there's a tablet that you can order food in and fridges full of beers to the left. On your right will be their menu of beers on draft. You can either grab a beer from their fridge or select one from their menu! I'm a pale ale gal, so I tried the alley time! I also tried their kolsch called yard work. Both were so good!! My friend is more into tarty/sours, so he tried autumn kings. We were both so pleased with what we had! I love the atmosphere as well. There's a variety of seating--little nooks with high chairs that you can enjoy a book in (which I did, while I was waiting for my friend!) or you can sit by the bar! My partner and I are big fans of Beermiscuous. We had been a few times before COVID/quarantine and it was always packed with people and hard to find a table. The last time we visited, the inside was for takeout orders or for enjoying on their socially distanced patio tables on the sidewalk. Their cash register had a plexiglass shield and they had plenty of hand sanitizer and cleaned tables and chairs well between groups. You get a solid discount if you get your beers to-go, but the prices are also extremely fair for beer enjoyed at the shop, as well. The variety of beer types and brands (local and otherwise) is always impressive. We love judging beers by their covers and picking out what we try based on the can's artwork, but have also discovered some delicious beers in plainer cans, too. This is honestly one of my favorite places in town. I go to catch up with friends, on my own to finish work, and other occasions such as tasting nights. At this point I don't know how I'd fill my weekly schedule of visiting here if they were ever to leave! (And I'm not talking the crap selection at make your own 6 packs grocery stores). They have the best selection you can find of exclusive releases and small time microbreweries. But then you can also get tap pours too! Flights or large pours. It's so flexible. I'll come grab a can, a 5oz draft, and take another can to go. It's a great way to try new brews in small doses. A friend and I both had Beermiscuous on our Chicago Bucket Lists, so we stopped in after getting some ink down the street. It was a quiet Friday afternoon with only a handful of patrons sharing the space. There is a coffee-shop-like vibe here, a chill spot that you can come to get some work done and take advantage of a WiFi connection. The draught list was posted on the wall and, once the bartender noticed I was specifically looking at the sours, I was given gentle direction towards a flight and given some suggestions as to what to add to the flight. My friend isn't a big beer drinker so the bartender pointed her towards the ciders. I wish I could remember the bartender's name but I forgot to write it down! He was very friendly and sweet. There were hundreds of varieties of bottles available and, with more available time, I would have gotten a better chance to review and/or taste them. We were in town for a few days, from Toronto, to see Hamilton with our good friends. We love the craft beer scene and this was a great find. It is a quant little shop, the choices available will make anyone happy. The fact that they had board games available to play topped off our experience as there were games we had not played since we were kids. If you are in the area or just in Chicago, google this place and stop in. Whoever is serving will be the most helpful. When I personally go out to craft beer places I love to try the local beers and they had a huge selection. We purchased a good selection for the rest of our stay in Chicago. I am very into samplers & beer flights so that I can try as many beers as possible at new places. Discovering new brews is kind of my thing. I was so pleased you could make a flight of anything on the Beermiscuous draft list. The night I went, they had about 13 on tap and I had only tried 2 in the past which left me an abundance to try out. Plus, there was a sour on the list! Sours are few & far between so I was quite pleased with that offering. I did find one beer I feel in love with that evening - Shocked Apricot Belgian Pale by Moody Tongue. Yummers! I liked that Beermiscuous was a very chill, not overly crowded atmosphere with a variety of seating from comfy chairs & couches to long tables for bigger groups. Coffee shop environment with people 'working' but much better because...uh....beer. Aside from what just I liked here...they do of course offer pints of beer, have a ton of fun events (check their calendar/sign up for their mailing list) and the front is a bottle shop. This past weekend, we checked out Beermiscuous. I've never been to a Beer Cafe before. I gotta say, I liked it! You can casually drink there and just lounge around cafe style without the loud drinking background noise. We came in the middle of the day so it was pretty chill and calm. The place is spacious with a cellar downstair for private events. Customer service was attentive and inviting. There is also complimentary pretzels and water. In addition, a private lot which is a nice perk if you plan on driving. I enjoyed the industrial modern decor and the white tile details. They also have a map of all the breweries in the Chicagoland area; we've only checked out 12, so many more to explore. The light fixtures were also innovated. The place is very inviting and cozy. I truly feel like I'm living in the future having Hop Butcher and Phase Three dropped off at my door each Thursday night. The staff and owners are super knowledgeable and really nice! It's the only place in the city that I'm aware of that you can order singles online and they'll hold them for you until you can pick them up. Their app is extremely well made and is updated daily with new beers as they arrive. They also get amazing drops from New York breweries like Other Half and Equilibrium! The bartender gave us recommendations based on what I told him I liked, and he was very friendly as we chatted for a bit. As other reviews have mentioned, the atmosphere here is more like a coffee shop, where you can bring your laptop and hang out or play board games. They also have 1 tv, which was nice on Monday because we wanted to watch the football game. As I anticipate going back, I downloaded their app and scanned my receipt to get points. They prefer quiet places over loud bars but love getting a drink. Beermiscuous was the perfect place to come. We all had a fun time picking a beer from all those coolers. I found the perfect one for me (Tradition and Twisted by Afterthought Brewining, WHICH Beermiscuous should bring back). They have some really unique choices here. They have iPads to order food delivery on, but I think they only partner with Gino's East. It was unclear. We were able to actually TALK and have a nice conversation while enjoying great beer. I recently also came here to do some work while enjoying a beer. It really felt like a cafe that just has beer instead of coffee. Lots of other people were there too but it wasn't loud.
