So I can't comment on the food. The signs indicate it is a food store and meat market. This is not the case. There is a restaurant that looks like home cooking and smells really good, but I was looking to grab a couple items, not wait on food. I went into the aside that looked like the food store and meat market, I wasn't there long but all I saw was alcohol. I went into the other side which appears to be the restaurant. Don't waste your time, I ordered the stuffed pepper steak with mashed potatoes and okra, it was all cold and came with 7 pieces of okra and about 3 bites of mashed potatoes. On top of that before we started to eat it , my wife's plate had a piece of a paper bag in her food, we got up and walked out. We went on steak night. Definitely a good steak. 100% better than the other place here selling them. Glad we didn't receive a gray steak. Service was good. Was a little weird that someone brought their dog inside the restaurant. That's kinda gross. And we love dogs! read more

My wife had the chicken fried steak and i had the smothered steak. Both were excellent, Seriously the best smothered steak I have ever had. It was cooked perect, smothered with onions and musrooms. The chicken fried steak was very good also and fried okra was perfect. If youre looking for a good homecooked meal, this is your place. We are not from around here and hove no connection to this place so this is honest review. Its a sit down kinda place where anyone would be welcome. Server was excellent also. Great place! read more

This place has gone down so much in the last few years. Don't even think about ordering on the phone to pick up. Gross and dirty also. I ordered 3 soft tacos.. I got one disgusting taco and a medium size pile of lettuce and tomatoes, swimming in some liquid. The taco disintegrated when I picked it up. Never ever again. read more

Stopped in for breakfast to try it out. Looked like a great place for a traditional breakfast. All I can say is I hope the dinner menu is better than breakfast. Requested cheese on my eggs and they brought it out in a cup and the cheese was old and had a very distinct smell. Sausage was bland and gravy was cold. Servers can be heard arguing with other servers cursing loudly. Not impressed and would definitely skip this one and head down the road. read more

The best chicken fried chicken I've ever had and that's saying a lot considering I'm from Houston where we have some of the finest restaurants. The staff was very nice and helpful, the salad I ordered was a cesear but received a small house salad with ceaser dressing. This is typical for small towns. I asked for the best thing on the menu and was recommended the combination plate. Fresh smoked brisket and sausage. You get two sides and they don't have many choices, several are some form of potato. I decided on the baked potato and salad. At first I thought the portions were a little small, but I was surprisingly full. The potato wasn't warm enough to melt the cheese and butter, (that's what they call loaded). The brisket and sausage were good, and flavorful, all and all a good experience. It was worth the eleven bucks. Not the best place in town but not bad. read more

I've been here a number of times over the years and find it hard to order anything but their excellent chicken fried steak. The portions are large, the staff friendly, and the food great. They also always offer a massive styrofoam to-go cup for your drink at the end. I highly recommend their onion rings as being some of the best I've had. read more
