The Craft Bar in Destin is tucked away in one of the many shopping centers. The one we went to is right at the heart of Destin, at the intersection of 98 and 293. It must be part of a chain because there is one if Miramar as well. The restaurant is a pretty standard bar and grill. It has a nice selection of beers and alcohol. As its name suggests, it features a good selection of craft beers from Florida and neighboring states. The standout food is the burgers, and it is the reason we came here. My dad likes seafood, but he can tire of it. For one night in town he just really wanted a burger. This spot definitely did the job. It also ended up being a good choice for our kids as they are more likely to eat burgers/chicken strips than shrimp and tilapia. The service was fine, I don't really remember it which means it wasn't bad or particularly good. I will note that there were some good happy hours and specials listed. I think if we had hit that up my rating would have gone from 4 to 5 stars. Otherwise this is a decent, if somewhat average burger and bar joint. However sometimes what you just want is a reliably good burger and beer. read more

I am not a local, referred here by one however and it did not disappoint. Sure they serve burgers and beer but that's not all and unlike Dustin who reviews food he didn't have I can say that their meat loaf best I have ever had!! Pork quesadillas was awesome. She pointed to a postage stamp of a wooden table (seriously not even 2' by 2' and said "you can sit there on that bench" ... I looked at vacant tables... "um no".... Great place to chill and feel mildly sophisticated during happy hour (2-6pm). I had a cherry bourbon smash that tasted like regret with a garnish, but the buttered bourbon old fashioned? Chef's kiss--ordered a second without shame. The burger looked amazing, cooked perfectly, juicy as hell... and then bam--flavor exit stage left. Apparently seasoning was on vacation. Example, we ordered beer belly pork pouting from menu thinking it was happy hour item and were charged nearly twice what we expected. Turns out happy hour dish dooes not bclude pork and I needed to specify that equest when ordering. My bad. I should have made it clear I thought I was ordering from the happy hour menu. We ordered the Craft Bar Burger with fries -- absolute perfection, with smoky flavors, a juicy medium-rare patty, and melty Gouda cheese. The fish & chips were also delicious. The staff members were extremely friendly and even recommended different places to visit as tourists, which made the experience even better. We came by Thursday around 6pm and it was packed! It was a nice day out and all of the tables on the patio were pretty much all full. The inside ambiance was pretty dark but around the bar it was lively. Our waitress was lovely and accommodating. Our food came out fairly quickly and was fresh and delicious. It was one of the first times we came for dinner. We usually come for brunch! The tuna BLT was so flavorful and something different for me. My husband had the meatloaf. He said it was delicious and there was plenty of food. We will be back again to try some other items on their menu. read more

We wanted something casual after driving all day and stumbled across this place. It was self seating and were able to get a table easily. Service was good but fairly slow since there was only one waiter serving all the tables inside and outside. They have a BIG selection of draft beers, wine and cocktails. The food was good. The Que Burger had good flavor and they cooked it to the right temp that was asked for. The Sushi Grade Tuna Niçoise salad was good but interesting. It came with potatoes in the salad (which I didn't realize when ordered) they weren't crunchy enough to be put into a salad and I don't think they belonged unless they were fried up more to more crunchy like a crouton. It also had green beans that I wish would have been pickled and would have added more acidity and flavor to the salad. The tuna and rest of the salad was great. read more

Popped in pretty late one night for dinner and our experience was top-notch! We sat outside on the patio as the weather was lovely. Waiter was super sweet, knowledgeable, and was readily available whenever we needed her. For drinks, I ordered the tequila mockingbird (recommended by our waiter) and it was so good! Sweet without being diabetes in a cup while also being strong. We also ordered the Mac and cheese bites, fish and chips, and the lamb burger. Everything was delicious! Having "craft" and "gastropub" in the name of a dining establishment sets certain expectations and this place fell WAY short. My husband ordered The Craft Bar burger​ medium. It was rare. It took a while to flag someone down to ask for it to be prepared medium. The second burger took a long time to come out and while the temperature was better, it was very bland for being a signature burger. I ordered The Side Bar which is four sides. Again, there is an implication that the sides would be equal in size. Nope. Two normal sized sides and two in tiny ramekins that are usually reserved for sauces. The bitty serving of mac and cheese was the best thing by far which isn't saying a lot. I learned that you CAN mess up mashed potatoes and calling green beans "haricots verts" doesn't mean they are going to be good. The brussel sprouts were the worst I've had since my sister boiled some when I was five and made me try one to see if I liked it. I didn't. After driving 8 hours and being pretty hungry, The Craft Bar sounded like a great place to get some good, unique food at a decent price. All it did was fill a void. What a disappointment. read more

Really great find for a nice dinner with kids. Located in a mall area with plenty of parking, the restaurant has both indoor & outdoor seating. We were seated right under the heat lamp in the outdoor area (enclosed for winter) & felt cozy the whole time. Our server was really great & attentive. Made some great suggestions & kept our glasses full. My kids enjoyed the Mac n cheese bites & their Shirley Temple drinks. The truffle fries were also delicious, as were our entrees (meatloaf, black bean quinoa burger & a big salad). Our food was good. Appetizers were really good. Fried green tomatoes w chutney and pickled onions were on point. I think in season they would be awesome. I ordered the Pretzels with the IPA mustard. The mustard was really tasty... but the pretzels were just ok. I think they should have been more along the lines of ballpark pretzels. My family loved the Mac n Cheese and Nashville Tenders. Hush Puppies w dipping sauce was great. Grouper was really nice. Good flavor and the sauce was really good. My boys loved the burgers. Cooked well. Fries were thick cut boardwalk fries. Yummy!! Our Servicer Ashley was really great! Made good craft brew recommendations and she suggested the gulf grouper as well! The atmosphere was just okay. I think the bar is probably more lively than the restaurant as a whole. It just kinda falls off and was a little boring. Suggestion - put the craft beer selections around the restaurant- it's a gastro pub - you should be able to see the brews from wherever you sit. I felt it was lacking the family fun bar feel.
