The Crafted Pie at Sailfish Brewery in Fort Pierce.

I like pizza. Really like pizza. Do you like pizza? If so, you need to check out Scott VanDuzer's new place - The Crafted Pie at Sailfish Brewery, near the ocean in Fort Pierce. Tuesday night and my kids wanted pizza. They like pizza as well. And who am I to complain? Eating out meant I didn't need to clean up at home. Besides, we were already out and driving around the Fort Pierce beach area. A sure menu favorite - "The Works" at $18.99 includes pepperoni, Italian sausage, fresh mushrooms, black olives, bell peppers, and red onions. Modifying my pizza a bit as each of my 3 kids have a different taste, I requested that a few slices have pepperoni only. Pizza was delivered just as ordered. For drinks, it was ice water for all. I'm a cheap date and would rather have my kids drink water than soda. French fries at $3.99 and 20 jumbo chicken wings at $18.99 rounded out our order. Fries were fresh and hot - the wings were of the jumbo variety, deep fried and tossed in a honey sauce. They were served with blue cheese for additional dipping. The taste wasn't bad. Clean establishment just a couple of blocks from the Atlantic Ocean, this was our first time visiting The Crafted Pie at Sailfish Brewery. Friendly and polite staff with plenty of parking. No complaints on the food or service - we will definitely return when in the area. William E. Lewis Jr. Vero Beach, Florida

I ate the crust!!! That's a lot to say considering I normally don't. There are only a few places I have. Their pizza was solid and for a quick lunch the area was quite calm. Overall I'd definitely stop in again for another slice.

Delicious pizza. Crust is soft, doughy, with crunchy exterior. We ordered a white pizza with mushrooms ricotta, etc. Delish!!

Great pies! Nice crust and good combinations. Love the garlic knots... delicious, but they are a little heavy on the butter (swimming).

Have been a resident of Fort Pierce for years, but this is the first time I ate here. The first…read morething our waiter said to us was you know there's an 18% gratuity added. Literally instead of a hello We had already been told this by the hostess as she seated us and considering they've got it on the menu as well as at the table in big letters, I'm assuming this is a problem for most people. It is for me. I will usually tip even at lunch 25% for good service but when the management is forcing me to pay 18%, whether the service is good or not, then that's what I'm going to pay. Management is not doing their wait staff any favors. I took a star off for that. As far as the food, I was pleasantly surprised. I had fried green tomatoes and the fish and chips. My niece had a smash burger. She says hers was excellent. The fried green tomatoes were literally the best I've ever had. Which is saying a lot because I love this appetizer and will usually order it in any southern restaurant. The fish and chips were also good but not great. The fish was tender, and the breading was crispy and not too soggy, but it was not perfectly crispy. The french fries were lacking in flavor and chewy. But basically the food was good and the service was satisfactory but not great. But I will be back to try other items on the menu -/ if you're setting the bar for an 18% tip then that saves the customers a lot of money when they would usually do 25 to 30%. When I see this in a restaurant, it tells me that the management does not want to dip in their profits to give their employees health insurance, but depends on the customer to do it for them.

Outstanding!! This humble place, tucked into a small strip…read moremall is larger than life once the food starts rolling to your table. The servers delight in sharing the absolute joy this kitchen dishes up for every diner in that room. The servers all smile the knowing smile of someone who has seen hundreds of super satisfied customers with even happier bellies. So now to the food. My wife got the pulled pork sandwich and offered me half. I took a bite and gallantly handed it back before my tongue got the message back to the rest of me on just how great that sandwich was - otherwise, I would have likely had a real internal struggle to give any of her dinner back. The barbecue sauce was tangy and warm, the pork, delectable and the coleslaw layer, cool, crisp and punchy. This sandwich was the prince of pulled pork! The French fries it came with took me back 50 years to being a kid and knowing what a French fry was supposed to taste like - real potatoes that someone had peeled fresh, crinkle cut and used fresh oil to fry to perfection. Wow. We ordered a seven piece chicken with a side of fried okra. The chicken was superb. As you bit into it, there was a crack from the batter like a tree branch breaking in two. That batter was cooked to absolute perfection. The chicken itself was cooked nicely and slid right off the bone with no tooth wrestling needed. The okra was nicely fried, but the real treat was how the tang of the okra came shining through like it was being eaten whole - the flavor didnt get lost in a thick batter or too long a fry. We also ordered the St. Louis ribs and man, they were also deee-lishous. Well balanced between sweet and tangy, a super platter with some lovely mac and cheese and collard greens for accompaniment. We tried a few of their specialty lemonade flavors. They were nice, but not the highlight in this menu full of superstars. We all had happy but super full bellies, so the peach cobbler and the banana pudding we took home will need to wait for the morning for them to get evaluated. Given the rest of our experience, I'm not going to lose money betting against this place! I met the owner, a solid honest, look you in the eye type of fellow. You could tell two things about him right away: 1. He's a man who has a great deal of pride to have this restaurant and it's fine food to share with the world. 2. This is not an easy business, but he doesn't mind, because he just knows his food is high art in a soul food world made up of many poimitations. Go give these fine folks a try. I am most sure you will leave just like me - searching for words that just don't exist to describe how good this food really is. Thank you Kinfolk, and like another reviewer said, I will be dreaming of this food until I figure a way back to your shop.

Plenty of locals coming in and out. We ordered breakfast. The catfish was seasoned very well. Not a fan of the Cajun sauce for the fish. The grits were cooked just right, not too thick or watery. The Georgia sausage was so good. The added bonus a bakery next door. I don't even like desserts, but they looked so good. The room was decorated beautifully. We ordered a 1/2 dozen cupcakes for Mother's Day. My only complaints are we had ask for a spoon for coffee. She brought me an uncovered stirrer with her hand. We didn't get offered water. We asked for coffee refills and never got them. The bathroom was hot and could have been a little cleaner. The floor was slippery, and didn't smell as clean as the rest of the restaurant. Overall... it was a good experience. I would try them again.
