For my 2025 birthday dinner, I wanted my husband & son to take me to eat at The Piehole on Hutchinson Island, since all I'd heard was how great it was. Well, I guess I must've missed it's original glory days, when it first opened, because it was a huge letdown. We got a 16" pepperoni pizza, one Meatball sliders appetizer, one Sprite, an Iced Tea, and a Domestic Draft Beer. The pizza was tragically bland. The sauce tasted like it came straight from a can. The pepperoni toppings were the cupped variety, but they were miniature sized (1"), and applied very sparingly on our pizza. The $16 meatball sliders were kinda pricey and they arrived to our table cold. The sliders are 4 garlic knots, topped with a half a meatball in sauce on each one, finished with melted cheese. The total damage for this subpar celebration meal after taxes & tip (on a party of three) was $80! After this visit I learned that this Piehole location has been sold to new owners since it's original inception. What a disappointment. read more

Delicious perfect pizza at around $20-25, shared well for 2 adults. The Sunday pie was outstanding. Caesar salad was disappointing , for $10 it was like a tiny fast food side salad.... something needs adjusting. Really enjoyed service and vibes, small indoor area with booths and tables. We checked out Piehole Wood Pizza last week. It was definitely worth the drive for us (3 bridges, 1 detour and about 30 minutes). The restaurant is very nice looking. They have outdoor seating and an outdoor bar, tables in an enclosed screened in room and tables inside. We sat inside. I loved all the wood and brick and the cool looking bar. Our waiter was very nice. We ordered the Meatballs as an appetizer and a pizza with sausage and pepperoni and lots of other coverings. Everything was delicious. They had a cold NAB Beck's for me - so I was even happier. Clean bathroom and plenty of parking. Definitely coming back for more delicious wood fired pizza! We had dinner in their other Pie Hole on Federal Highway in Port St Lucie. We went with another couple. The salads arrived quickly. No complaints. We waited over half and hour for two pizzas. Our friends came out. Looked nice. And we waited another 15 minutes for our pizza. That's a big NO-NO for me. I was told that they only had one pizza maker. I told her "that's not my problem. " Finally the pizza came out. We had meatballs and mushroom. It was ok. Nothing special. The taste was ok. The crust was nothing special. read more

I was recommended to Piehole and it did not disappoint!! It seems like the only pizzeria in the area to offer vegan pizza! It was pretty tasty! I tastes like there's some sort of cheese blend, so there is Vegan mozzarella but it also tastes like there's a yellow cheese? I'm not sure if it's the brand of vegan cheese used, but it's still good! I've also heard that they have great non-vegan pizza, specially the fig one. Overall, it was great pizza and great for people with varying dietary restrictions. I ordered for pickup so I didn't sit and eat there. It seems like a chill spot to have pizza! read more

All washed down with a nicely chilled draught Islamorada Citrus and a Yuengling. The citrusy Islamorada was less successful...should have chosen an ale or IPA. When I first relocated from New York State, the pie hole was an amazing and welcome find. Their wings and margarita pizza were like home. Great crust and fresh mozzarella...so good. Even after changing ownership, still solid. Recently though, they have changed something and there's zero-rise in their crust. It's like they've forgotten to add yeast. We've driven past this place several times, and it always looks busy and inviting! Finally we decided to go, and it did not disappoint! We ordered their famous garlic knots and the spartichoke pizza (white pizza with spinach and artichoke). The garlic knots are huge and easy to share among four people. The small pizza was big enough to leave us two with some leftovers, but maybe we would have finished it if it's all we ordered. On Fourth of July weekend, we had to wait about 30 min, but once we sat down, everything came out quickly. We didn't mind sitting by the kitchen and watching them make their wood-oven pizzas! The price point is a bit higher than usual for the area, but we're from Miami, so it was fine by us. There was plenty of parking, but keep in mind that coming here takes some intentionality since there's nothing around but bird sanctuaries! The drive isn't bad from the South Hutchinson Island restaurants and neighborhood, but bring bug spray in case you have to wait outside or plan to go when it's not the busiest. There's a good variety of pizzas and lots of vegetarian options. We want to come back and try some of their other pizzas for sure! read more

This was the second time my wife and I visited this place. First time we tried a pizza and the tiramisu cake and it was good. The tiramisu had some expresso at the bottom which was delicious. We placed the order online and picked it up at the restaurant. Process was easy. Ambiance on this place is good, it's well located on Hutchinson Island and seems to be very well loved and packed most of the time. They have some games you can play inside and good music. Overall a good vib This second time we placed the order inside the restaurant to go but our son woke up and we wanted to sit inside. Server mentioned they usually don't allow people to sit in if they place the order to go, but we went during lunch time and it was rather empty so I was confused. We ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and it was way too salty. I mentioned that to the server but she did not bother to take note of it or cover for the meal. The tiramisu this time was extra covered in chocolate powder which the server pointed out but again, no offer to bring a new one. Overall we will go for pizza if we are in the vicinity but will think twice about the spaghetti. read more

Staying in Port Saint Lucie for work and I made a list of some spots I wanted to try around the area. This particular Sunday the journey to the Pie hole was so unplanned, the experience made dinner even more genuine. Starting in PSL to go eat in Stuart to arrive at a closed pizza on New Year's day was unfortunate but a blessing in disguise, it was then the move was shifted to go to the Pie hole. Stopped for dessert first as we were hungry but the entree was Pizza no matter what. Drove A1A up from Stuart and what felt off the beaten path as it is very dark, we arrived at the Pie Hole. They have a gorgeous lit patio on its south side, a small enclosed outdoor in front a small dining room inside along with a bar. Sat outside and was well taken care of by a wonderful waitress named Olivia. She was patient and took our appetizer order while I got stuck on a work call. The smorgasbord is super satisfying, definitely fancy mozzarella sticks as it's not the generic fried mozz you come across. Better quality cheese, breading, and savory all around. The meatball sliders are absurdly mouthwatering. The wings just felt overshadowed but they were also flavorsome and had options of sauces to be tossed. Since we enjoy being cheesy, we went with the Sunday Pie for the day being Sunday. Great wood fire taste and the bite of the whole ensemble made an appreciable product. Hope to make it that way again as my time in the area will be over soon. But the Pie Hole leaves a special place in my heart. The journey to it, the drinks after, and probably my favorite name for a pizza joint ever. Maybe I'll see you at the Pie Hole one day. Cheers. read more

Vibes are island time, great bands! I've been there multiple times from lunch with the girls to just picking up dinner to go. Honestly one of the only places that I've found that actually caters to people who are lactose intolerant, and still tasted good! Great place to get infested with chiggers! Sat outside in a screened in area. I expected some bugs, which are of course unavoidable. I did not expect to go home with a chigger infestation. We had to disinfect the entire house, clothes, and car just to be safe. Employees there were well aware of the problem because we quickly moved inside and then another pair of diners were sat at the same table and also moved inside. Disgusting. There are probably chiggers inside too on the chairs since people are moving from inside to outside. We went there for the garlic knots and supposedly great pizza. Instead, we got mediocre pizza, "garlic" knots that don't even have garlic on them, and dozens of bites all over my body. Never again. Go elsewhere! read more

Fun spot in ft pierce that actually used to be a gas station! Great ambiance, plenty of TVs, shuffle board, and amazing food. Booths are large and very comfy. Our server was attentive and very nice. Apps came out timely and we had a good amount of time to enjoy them before our pizza came out. We asked for a well done pizza and we got just that! Absolutely delicious. The garlic knots are the best knots I've ever had. Buttery, garlicky, and the sauce also had great flavor. Crispy on the outside, hot and soft on the inside. The whole menu in this restaurant is enticing! We came for the handcrafted pizza. However, we couldn't resist ordering a sample platter (Pie Hole Smorgasbord) which consisted of Fresh Mozzarella Moons, , Grandmom's Homemade Sliders (the meatballs are to die for) and Pie Hole chicken wings (these were tasty too). The "small" pizza is huge for one person! Meatball pizza was outstanding! The Spartichoke was quite different than what we usually order (no meat) yet delicious. Horrribleeee restaurant. We've attempted to enjoy this place twice and both times failed us. First time they were out of half of the items on the menu. The second time I go in and order a small pizza for my kids, apps and multiple subs. All of the items come out except the small pizza. We asked the server several times when the pizza would arrive for the kids and they kept saying it would be out in a moment. After a full hour of waiting I asked for a manager. The manager was rude and not helpful in the least bit. Told us she would remove the pizza and we can get our check.... But I watched several families come in after us and get their pizza within 10-20 minutes of ordering. Will not be returning. Really wanted to love this spot. read more

Called in a whole pie order, was told 30 minutes. Got there about 40 min, went inside and paid. They said just a minute, so I sat down. That minute became 40 minutes, while everyone dodged me asking where it was. I would've left but I had already paid. About 15 min before I got it, I pointed out to the hostess that one was sitting where they put the food that's done in a togo box, and she insisted it wasn't mine. Surprise surprise, 15 min later it was determined it was mine. THEN, she asks me for my credit card. I had already paid, 40 min ago. She then is rude and suggests I'm stealing it. No apology for the wait. Obviously the pizza was cold and service went right along with quality because it was not worth the cost. Odd extra was the outdoor "live music" that was happening around 6p on a weekend, and was clearly a practice as they'd stop every minute or so, discuss changes and then go again.. weird to do with people sitting there eating. read more

Went to Piehole back before the ownership change and the food was in my opinion of better quality. I don't know if I was biased but the waitress did say that the original recipes were shared by the owner to the current staff and nothing had changed. We always have to try the vodka sauce, and truthfully it was subpar delicious- but just nothing special. We went home with leftovers and over stuffed bellies, but just didn't have the same pizzazz as my previous visit. The bar area inside is very hole in the wall, the decor is warm and inviting, waitress was kind and honest but definitely not my go to Italian spot moving forward. read more
