    Lasagna Pizza
    Jim M.

So glad this place was open during the hurricane when most everywhere else was closed. That being said , the pizza was a flavorless pizza where everything comes off when you try and pick up a piece. Sauce was red with zero flavor. I guess it was called Lasagna pizza because they put ricotta cheese on top of each piece. Definitely the worst pizza I have had in many years. A dominos hand tossed is a 10this is a 4. Thanks for being open and very nice , your pizza is awful.

We sat at the bar awaiting dinner seating. The bartender literally did not say hello and stood mute in front of us...then said, " Do you want a drink?" Unceremoniously, he served my husband a small- glassed flat vodka soda. My husband very politely said to a new craggly bartender, I'm sorry to have to say, but this is flat." She met that with pursed lips and with disdain said, 'Well it all comes from the same system ." After a beat, "Are you going to oder something else?" That something else was slid over to him with rather a thud. No more words. So, we left without any more ordering or food. Then! Happy days! We found the cutest, most charming little Italian restaurant. The decor and the lovely hostess welcomed us with smiles as did a delightful, professional, and most personable, waiter who suggested a table I would feel warmest at ( no one else is cold-- always me!). We got outstanding egglant dishes..outstanding! The sauce was Nonna-perfect! The eggplant tender, not mushy whatsoever. The sauce, the best! The included -garlic bread, to die for, and the inclu- dinner salad, fresh and crisp with a light balsamic dressing. Portions were for kings! We were so impressed we talked with the owner, Giuseppi to gush! He introduced us to Nonna, herself ! ( Suzi), his daughter, Dianna and his son, our wonderful, delightful waiter, Sebastiano--! He pointed to a picture of his father, Luigi, ( Gigi) telling us his father and mother decades ago opened their first Gigi's in Canada before moving to Fl where they opened this Gigi's. The pride he deserves for the authentic cuisine is rivaled only by the pride of his family! What a 'night and day' evening we had! My husand usu eschews Italian dining bc nothing usu compares to his or his mother's. This did. ( Maybe better...don't tell.)

The service was great when it came, but there were long gaps between and the lady in the kitchen noticed and would spur the waitstaff into action. The place is on the smaller side, dark and very old fashioned, which are great features for a classic Italian restaurant in my opinion. It was like eating at one of the little neighborhood restaurants in NY. My negatives are the spotty service, the servers were 25 feet away and didn't seem to care to give a glance. My iced tea was made with tap water... Unfiltered and tasted horrible. Finally, the restaurant is cash only. Yes, they do offer alternative ways to pay such as Cashapp, Apple Pay, Zelle, etc, which l felt was a bit unusual. In closing, the food was great! Tasty and well made. Tap water to paying customers!? Service is service, some times it's great and sometimes it's not. The cash only thing did take me by surprise.

This is a review strictly for the Steak & Cheese, and the Calamari…read more Lived in Port St Lucie for 14 years and never have been to DaVinci's. Shame on us. Heard some good things about it. My wife and I are in search of a good steak and cheese in the area. Sad to say, the best we could find is from Jersey Mikes. Jersey Mikes subs are very good, but you shouldn't have to go to a franchise to find a good one with all the New York restaurant owners in the area. Anyway, in our opinion, DaVinci's steak and cheese has the rest beat, hands down. We added green peppers and a side of mayo to the onions and mushrooms. First off, it weighs about 4 pounds (slightly exaggerated but close). It's huge, and delicious. Really nothing more needs to be said. The flavor is excellent, and the bread is perfect. * I don't know if the bread is made in house, but it's very good. We also crave Calamari which can be hit or miss when ordered at a restaurant. Although the rings were not huge, they were plenty big enough, and (like the steak and cheese), the portion was huge. The Calamari they serve doesn't get much better. Just the right amount of crispy batter, and very tender. The accompanying marinara sauce has great flavor. I do get a bit excited when we discover a really good restaurant. There's a lot to choose from in the area, but not that many I consider to be great. DaVinci's has been around for a long time, which says something for its quality. It's a bit of a whole in the wall (my kind of place). You walk though the front door to a very tight counter area where they're cooking pizzas, and managing take out orders (which were flying out the door left and right). You might have to wait a few minutes while the girl at the counter, or one of the wait staff acknowledges you as they were very busy on a Saturday night - and no front host area. Was starting to get a little frustrated with the wait, but it was OK. There were 2-3 large tables filled with people but there were several booths available. The place is small, and you can tell the place has been around for 40+ years. It's nothing fancy, but it's quaint, and has a lively atmosphere. You can tell the patrons are regulars, and the wait staff and all have been there for a while. Even though we have not tried other dishes on the menu, you can tell it's all going to be good, We can't wait to go back to try some actual Italian dishes - and we know where we're going for Cheese Steaks from now on.

Your entree will come with a delicious soup (lentil soup tonight, which was hearty and beautiful). We had the Angel Hair with mushroom sauce and the Shrimp Sorrento. All delicious and large enough portions that came home with us for another meal. Felicia, our usual server, is friendly, bubbly, and super efficient. The place has been there for a while and it's part of its charm.

The last four or five 'highly recommended" Italian restaurants in the Jensen Beach/Stuart area we tried were OK to even pretty good but not at all memorable or begging another visit so we always went back to our favorite. Felt a little guilty coming here but WOW-we were blown away. We ate here twice before writing this review because I wanted to make sure our first visit wasn't a fluke. On the first visit my wife ordered Shrimp Linguine Fradiavolo which was a generous portion of shrimp over linguine with a wonderfully spicy marinara sauce. (She let me try it). I ordered Gnocchi Sorrentina which I customized to my preferences. Substituted marinara for meat sauce and added some charred Italian sausage. Probably the best gnocchi I've ever had. Portions of both dishes were large enough to take back to enjoy for lunch the next day. On our second visit, my wife had Spaghetti Al Pomodoro and I tried Veal Marsala. Both were north of wonderful! During both visits we also enjoyed fresh garlic bread. Uncle Guiseppe's is busy and noisy. Service is so good you don't notice the "busy" once you're seated. This was our best restaurant find this trip.
