Best place on the island to eat! Service is good and it's right on the water. Come here every visit, usually more than once! Dogs are allowed too!

This great restaurant is located at Montague Marine Park, great views of the boats and water. Friendly service and great food. They had daily specials (food and drink) so I tried the mango margarita and it was delicious! Ordered the Crane and Robin House Salad with seared tuna. Totally hit the spot, lightly dressed with a miso dijon vinegarette. Loved the seeds they put on it as well, gave it a nice nutty flavour. We also had the seared tuna sandwich. This was great, bun was fresh and nicely toasted, tuna seared perfectly and tasted fresh. We enjoyed our lunch there just before we went for a paddle! We will definitely come back next time we visit Galiano.

Beautiful spot right on the bay. All seating is outside. Tried three different tacos, would recommend the pulled beef

What a beautiful spot on the water with a beautiful view, friendly staff and fresh tacos! My friend's cod tacos were delicious - fresh, flavors and textures melded together well and all very filling! I got the seared tuna tacos upon my server's recommendation, but I liked the cod ones much better. On it's own, the seared tuna was ok, but in a taco, it didn't seem to work as well via the textures, flavor, etc. in my opinion. Taco sizes are huge though and I easily got full off of 2. Not knowing the tacos would be so big, my friend and I split a small smoked salmon chowder, which actually turned out to be a small bowl size (much bigger than expected!). The chowder was more on the thin/watery side and kind of tasted like it had some curry in it, but overall was ok. They also charge you for a small glass of water they bring you when seated, which I was surprised to see when I got the bill ... But as a whole, I really enjoyed the location, vibe, friendly staff, and affordable fresh fish tacos, especially considering the view and definitely look forward to coming back another time.

We ordered a large bowl of cod chowder, which was very creamy and had very generous amounts of cod. The house salad with salmon was also very fresh and crispy. The salmon was perfectly cooked, tender and not dry. I was very satisfied with my lunch.

Fresh and nourishing. Menu very simple limited to sandwiches with choice of green salad or potato sunflower seed salad, and corn or seafood chowder, and an assortment of tortilla tacos served in threes. Expected burgers and fries kinda foodfare being a marina location etc (look elsewhere if that's what your craving! Like Scoops for greasy spoon diner-style). Pleasantly surprised by healthy bistro-style meal thoughtfully made with fresh locally sourced ingredients. Be prepared to pay for water because no drinkable source. View on the water is second to none.

Went down the road to one of Canada's top restaurants last night...enjoyed my meal at Crane & Robin more than there. Wonderful cod chowder, a delicious IPA from Hoyne, and an eclectic music mix without the whining Bob Dylan drowning out conversation. And the view of Montague Bay makes for a wonderful afternoon.

Great food. Salmon tacos are awesome. Coconut milk cod chowder. Two local Hoyne craft brews. Delightful view. Watch the boaters come ashore. Former location of Sea Breeze.

The view is good, but very limited food choices. One star for the view; one star for the service. The food is about average.

The owner Roxanne and Stephan came by and mingled with everyone and I have to say are incredible hosts and have done an amazing job with the place and the staff. Did I mention they have a 3-Michelin Star Chef?!! We will definitely be back and highly recommend this place to any and everyone to stay, relax, enjoy great dining and unwind. Michael and Teresa:)

And while there are no shortage of seafood restaurants serving fresh crab on the Steveston waterfront, we wanted to give The Crab King a fair shake. I'm so glad that we did! My wife ordered a King Crab for herself which, after tearing it literally limb-from-limb, eventually declared it to be tied for her favorite boiled crab dish anywhere! High praise coming from such a consummate crustacean connoisseur! For myself and our son, an order of fish and chips, and the grilled chicken sandwich rounded out our order, both of which were crispy, tasty and delicious. Regarding the fish and chips, they appeared to be tempura-battered, and I'm still not 100% sure what type of fish it was. It may have been cod, but it seemed more like catfish, but either way, it was tender, juicy, flaky and delicious. No complaints here! More than anything, though, the employees here went out of their way to make our experience enjoyable. Our toddler son, who is normally extremely well-behaved in restaurants, was having a bit of a fuss here and there. Without prompting, the servers brought us a little radio to play music for him, as well as a couple of toys to play with, one of them being a wind-up truck that they gave to him to take home! He loved it there, and still plays with it at home! They even played peek-a-boo with him from behind the counter, soliciting laughs and giggles, for the better part of 15 minutes! That sort of customer service is nearly impossible to find, and should be praised and cherished wherever it is found! Whatever the past may have held for this restaurant, the Crab King is an entirely new animal now, serving up fresh seafood by uncommonly wonderful employees, in a fantastic floating location. They even offer to cook spot prawns and other seafood purchased from the boats docked at the nearby waterfront marketplace, for a modest fee. With all these things going for it, there's no doubt who wears the crown of Crab King in Steveston Harbor!

I did like the grilled oysters a bit more than the raw ones, my favorite out of the three was the Chipotle bourbon, it was sweet and tangy and the flavor meshed well with the grilled oyster. The main problem with this place is it's quite expensive, ~$2.5/raw oyster, $4.5/grilled oyster, and $1.5/clam for the clam bowl. The ambiance was great, the views of the water were nice. Service was also fine, if you get the DIY shuck oysters they give you a demo which is great. 4.6/5

When you arrive there is a free parking lot out front. I'd definitely recommend placing a reservation before you arrive as it can get busy. The atmosphere is a laidback, on a farm, and hidden. When we arrived we checked in with the host and then were seated along the water. To start we ordered the seasonal panzanella salad which was an excellent to start the meal. Next we ordered several grilled oysters including the Herb Lemon Garlic, Lime Cilantro Sriracha, and Chipotle Bourbon. The Herb Lemon Garlic flavor was by far my favorite given the nice balance of flavors. If you are on San Juan Island you definitely need to check out this shell shack.
