This place is in the middle of a strip mall and some what difficult to see from the street. Plenty of parking in the private lot. Parking spots have no lines and the parking lot is filled with glass and potholes. Be patient with this place. They are not open on Saturdays and it may take a couple of phone calls to get someone. Best to just go in and wait in line. Ignore the menu, this place will cook certain food items when they feel like it. I came on a Sunday and had to wait in line for over an hour. There were 35 people already in line and they were preparing a large catering order. The food is served cafeteria style so it does not take long. The food tastes great. I ordered this meal via uber eats because....Covid. I ordered their Thursday Special, Lasagna with cabbage and fried okra. I also ordered the catfish sandwich with fries and a drink. It took an hour and 45 minutes to get the order. It wasn't picked up by the uber driver until an hour had passed. My order was placed in Styrofoam containers and cellophaned together to try to keep the heat in....very much appreciated. There was no drink left for the catfish sandwhich meal. I wasn't too upset about that as I had expected it. It said it came with fries and a drink but didn't give options to select a drink on the uber eats website. So I was okay with not having a drink....but when I opened the container, there were no fries and 2 fried "catfish" fillets in between two slices of think Texas bread....it wasn't toasted so I'm not calling it Texas toast. When I tried the fish, it tasted more like swai than catfish. The lasagna looked like I got the scraping from the bottom of the pan. Not neat and layered at all. Tasted like a doctored hamburger helper meal with shredded cheese sprinkled on top. The cabbage was okay but had ZERO seasoning. Bland as can be. The fried okra was alright but again no seasoning. But it was fried well. I like to give fair reviews. In this case, I did not recieve what I paid for and the quality of the food I received left a lot to be desired. Not sure if I'll waste my money with them again but if I do, hopefully I would be able to update this review. This was my first time having their food. I liked the food but the variety is such that I would literally never come back unless I wanted that same meal. Everything here is fried, which is great when you're in the mood for it, but not so great when you tend to lean toward the healthier side of grilled foods. It's best to just look at the line and see what they actually have rather than look at the list of what they are supposed to have when you are ordering. I made this mistake and had to pick both my sides again as they were unavailable and not gonna be made that day. But the ladies were really nice about it and even gave me a water cup for free. It was a Monday or a Tuesday so I got the Fried Shrimp Dinner off the daily menu. The shrimp is cooked to order and can take 15 minutes but ended up taking only about 5-10. I got cornbread, pinto beans, and corn. All in all, it was a really good meal and I really enjoyed it. First visit was not impressed with the food or the service. I arrived at 1115am on a Friday, they open at 11am. I looked at the menu and decided I'd order from the daily entree side instead of the Friday menu. I asked for smothered pork chops, they didn't have any, ok, fine I chose smothered chicken white meat, only to be told " we don't have any wings", so I get a leg instead. I hear the lady behind me order regular fried wings and she was told we only have three wings. Ok, I could understand if the place had been opened a while, but it wasn't even 30mins before they were saying we don't have this or that. If you're going to display daily entrees and sides every day at least offer what's on the board. When I ordered the beans, the nice man asked me if I was sure I wanted them because they were out of cornbread. The Crock Pot is one of the few places who post reasons for price fluctuation. Other restaurants and grocery stores up the prices w/o notice. This has to be a family business because the attitudes at this location on Shelby Drive is aweful. The ladies hate to answer any questions they are rude. Too many different charges for certain things. The guy who rings at the register must be the owner or management. He has no control over staff. He listens to staff curse and talk crazy and don't say anything but look around. But talking to him , he definitely seems slow. Service is slow. It's horrible.
