The staff was friendly, attentive, and created the kind of easygoing atmosphere that makes you want to linger a little longer. I ordered the spicy margarita, and not only was the presentation gorgeous, but it was genuinely delicious -- the perfect balance of heat and flavor without being overpowering. This is my third visit here, and it never disappoints! If you're dining in, you'll order right at the table. The chocolate tart is my absolute favorite. Their paninis are also delicious and definitely worth trying. I've tried both the latte and cappuccino and they were decent but not particularly memorable. Went a while back and had a caramel latte and chocolate croissant. Everything was fresh and tasty. Service was good and ambiance is nice with limited seating and not very spacious if too crowded. I got up early this morning and took a drive to Gainesville to checkout the Coffee and Wine Bar. Coffee & Wine my to favorite drinks. I started with a drip coffee which was delicious, the coffee was full of body. Then I noticed that they had a Wellness Latte so I had to try one. So I got the Golden Tumeric Latte, a very healthy latte. To top it off I got the Apfel Cake... OMG. The cake took me back to Germany. The Apfel cake was nice and hot, not to sweet, the cream was fresh and the crust was crispy. Amazing I can tell you the service was welcoming from the front door and all though the service. Some of the pastries are 5*, but the way the croissants get handed to you is like someone is balling up a sweatshirt and throwing it at you. It's happened at least 3 times. You're supposed to hand it over without whipping the bag in a circle in the air giving it a rolled up like a ball type of treatment. If you must fold the bag fold the top of the edge to give it something to grasp. Do not try and pack it tight. It is a croissant. A croissant is a fragile flaky crispy pastry that's supposed to not be crushed, but given plenty of space. And don't give me a drink that you touched at the top where I'm supposed to put my mouth. This cafe has been here for several years now. My wife and I have had a chance to frequent the place many times over the years and it has managed to maintain a certain charm in atmosphere as well as uniqueness in quality and style of cuisine that really stands out. The staff that have worked here over the years, and newer staff, always work so hard. They hustle to get drinks made, food out, and keep a happy customer. It's noticed, even when it's not mentioned. A lovely coffee shop! My family and I were doing a road trip down to Charlottesville and stopped here for morning coffee and breakfast. We ordered yogurt with blueberries and granola, a ham and cheese croissant, and an iced latte. The latte was delicious, along with both breakfast items! My sister and I just got back from Barcelona, Spain where we had this amazing Chai Latte so we had to try it here. Three sizes to choose from and different milk options. Wow - it was soo good. Now I just want to go there every day just for that. We also got breakfast. She got the quiche with kale salad and I got the breakfast panini. We both became members of the clean plate club. The crust on my panini was a bit hard, but not too thick and full flavored. Unfortunately I didn't think to take a photo of any of it until we were almost finished! They also brought a bottle of tap water for the table. Staff was very attentive. And while every outdoor table with an umbrella was taken when we got there, there was plenty of space inside. It's not a large place but I can see a potential book club meeting there every month! Nice music in the background did not create a more noisy environment. There is also free Wi-Fi. This spot surpassed my expectations!!! The host and the bartender were lovely and told us a little about the owners and menu options. All seems fresh and curated to fit their vibe and brand. I ordered the titantic martini (their signature) it came with a grape at the bottom of the glass to signify the sunken titanic and very Finely shaved ice shaped into icebergs on top! The taste wee lightly sweet with some notes of Concord grape. Amazing and paired well with "my heart will go on" on my insta story. My friend loved thier espresso martini! I also tried the sage martini which was very delicate and light! We also ordered the charcuterie tray and the honey Dijon mustard they make in store STOLE the show! Portion sizes are moderate. We also ordered the carprese panini and were underwhelmed on that item only because it was a little bland- we ordered some more mustard and that helped :) I can't wait to visit the Clifton location now! Definitely 5 star!!!! Everything we had here was fantastic! The coffees and lattes were amazing. The service was great, and they have the busiest, hardest working baristas! We tried a regular coffee, 2 different lattes and a matcha latte. All were excellent! Exactly how we ordered them. We tried the madame croquet, breakfast panini, ham and cheese croissant, bread pudding and a danish. None of these disappoint! The breakfast panini was crunchy and hot and fresh. The croquet was basically a stacked breakfast sandwich with and egg on top and it was also very good. A great date spot! While they call themselves a coffee & wine bar, I would definitely say they do a better job at the "bar" part. The coffee and pastries are okay, but not amazing. However, the food and cocktails are delicious! It's also a great atmosphere to meet up with friends or spend a nice day (there is some outdoor seating) In the past few years that I've been coming here, the service can definitely be hit or miss. I think this is probably partially to blame on the way the resturant is set up- you can sit at the bar, tables, or do takeout - and this can be confusing at first. In my experience, it's best to sit at the bar. Table service can be slow. Great spot for a small bite and drinks after shopping/movies/etc in the area! read more

Not a great experience for two main reasons: poor customer service and overpriced menu. Overheard male staff member pause chitchat with his friend/visitor to talk down to his female coworker, and I thought this incredibly rude and unprofessional. Meanwhile, this woman was hustling to maintain some semblance of customer service because her front-of-house counterpart was very flighty (we sat outside but came inside to order at bar because she didn't check with us; ordered extra bread and had to remind her; etc.). Not sure if service is always like this or overwhelmed during busy hours, but that doesn't change the condescending way in which the male staff member spoke to his colleague. The truffle fries were great though the beignets were my favorite which figures because I have an absolute sweet tooth. I adored the bourbon butterscotch dipping sauce that came with the beignets, which were the perfect texture! The staff was friendly and helpful; I was helped by Ariel and Su during my visit. This place is a simple but cute coffee & wine bar. I came here for the coffee and a quick bite to eat for breakfast to start my busy day. They have a decent menu but could use a little more variety when it comes to food. Then again I wouldn't expect the menu to be too detailed since the space is small and it really is meant for full blown meals. I ordered the coffee and a breakfast panini with a side of truffle fries. The truffle fries are amazing and were cooked perfectly with a good sauce on the side. As for the panini..now dont get me wrong, the bread was crisp and it has potential, but it was lacking in the seasoning department. Seeing that they didnt really have condiments sitting out at your disposal hints that once again...dont come in thinking about having full meals. Holy crap... what happened!? The customer service here is nothing like it used to be when I frequented it more often. There's a waitress running around with red hair with an attitude and no idea how to greet new customers. I stood waiting at the register to order and she came up and passed by me 3 or 4 times, no acknowledgment, not even a smile or awareness. Doesn't look like they are properly staffed but that's no excuse. She even printed 3 receipts directly in front of me and the two other people waiting in line. The girl making coffee was nice enough but she didn't greet us folks or even say, "be right with you". If you're slammed... let people know... it was awkward af just standing there not knowing if I was going to receive service. Ended up only getting a cappuccino... mediocre... quite bitter almost burnt. I'm really sad... I used to love this place and recommend it all the time for DC folks coming out to the area. Maybe I got the wrong drink? Either way... I don't think I'll be sending my foodies here until things get better. read more

I have been to Trummer's Wine & Coffee Bar since they first opened and numerous times when I lived in Gainesville and now, when I visit my parents. It used to be a hidden gem that I looked forward to going to. BUT, a lot has changed over the months that I haven't been living here. SERVICE: Absolutely atrocious. I have been here for "brunch" three times now and I have had to wait at least 1.5 hours for my food, coffee, and check. I have been forgotten about for a good 25 minutes and could have easily walked out with no one noticing. There aren't any apologies either. The last time I even waited through a shift change and I had to finish my brunch order with a different waiter! COFFEE: Apparently they changed from Stumptown to Lavazza. Unfortunately, I can't have Lavazza due to GI issues. Also, they didn't mention on their website or store that they changed and I found out rather quickly I can't have their coffee anymore. That is disappointing since that was what I really craved there. I would even get just coffee to go--it was THAT good. FOOD: The food is more or less the same quality, but they have gotten completely rid of the brunch menu! I remember the pancakes and other delicious items that you could only get during brunch hours and they did away with them. I would drive 30 minutes to get their brunch and once again, it wasn't announced they they discontinued it. Now, they have the same menu all day, which really took the allure away. ATMOSPHERE: The atmosphere is nearly the same, but now I'm seeing more and more people that stay with laptops or just an empty mug for a long time, which makes finding a table hard for people that are coming in. There should be a rule, like other coffee shops, that there is a limit while staying there since it's a place on the smaller side. Also, it really takes a while to get your food and/or coffee. There is a difference between allowing room for conversation and feeling like you're forgotten. Unfortunately, I will not be returning for all of these reasons and I would be great if some changes could come to Trummer's to make me reconsider. read more
