Rainy day while shopping at promenade commons....no problem. Stop by Trummer's. This quaint little place offers coffee and adult drinks to keep you awake. The ambiance is light and breezy. I got a latte and a tiramisu. Both were great. But if you prefer a martini, you can get that too. Service was fast and friendly. So, if you're looking for a spot to just chill and sip, this is a great spot.

Came in for a drink before dinner and was pleasantly surprised. My husband had the Pain & pleasure and loved it . It's awesome! My wine was fabulous. The staff were friendly and helpful. It's a cute place , not too big . Can't wait to come back. They have Beignets!! I will come back to try them!!

I stopped by Trummer's and tried their Apfel Cake. Wow, it did not disappoint! It reminded me of homemade European desserts. Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and great coffee to go with the cake. Definitely coming back to try more!

I got up early this morning and took a drive to Gainesville to checkout the Coffee and Wine Bar. Coffee & Wine my to favorite drinks. I started with a drip coffee which was delicious, the coffee was full of body. Then I noticed that they had a Wellness Latte so I had to try one. So I got the Golden Tumeric Latte, a very healthy latte. To top it off I got the Apfel Cake... OMG. The cake took me back to Germany. The Apfel cake was nice and hot, not to sweet, the cream was fresh and the crust was crispy. Amazing I can tell you the service was welcoming from the front door and all though the service. It is a very comfortable atmosphere.

This place is truly heaven on earth. I don't want any of you to come here cause I always wanna be able to have a seat at the bar.

A lovely coffee shop! My family and I were doing a road trip down to Charlottesville and stopped here for morning coffee and breakfast. We ordered yogurt with blueberries and granola, a ham and cheese croissant, and an iced latte. The latte was delicious, along with both breakfast items! Their pastries looked so good we took some for the road and loved them! Service was also great! It's located at a shopping plaza, so there's plenty of things to do afterwards. Highly recommend and hope to drop by another time!

You can always tell when a restaurant has strong chemistry among its staff -- and that comes from being managed by people who truly care. The place is spotless, and the food is always five-star -- tasty, hot, beautifully presented, featuring amazing seasonal specials, and consistently appetizing. The reason for this second review is to give a special shout-out to Cali from Nokesville (not California -- inside joke!). Nothing against today's younger generation, but it's rare to find someone with such natural ease in conversation. Cali is an old soul with a wonderful personality, genuine warmth, and incredible knowledge of the menu. She's the kind of server who doesn't just take your order -- she connects with you. Early in our meal, I asked about something that's normally only offered for to-go orders. Cali said she'd check into it, and I didn't think much of it. Well, an hour and a half later, after we'd finished dining and checked out, she came back -- having remembered my request -- and made it happen. That level of attention and follow-through is rare these days. Firebirds Gainesville continues to impress us in every way, and with staff members like Cali, it's easy to see why. Five stars all around!

After checking in, we were quickly guided upstairs to a cozy, rounded booth--an intimate and perfect spot for two. Our server, Katie, was fantastic--attentive, knowledgeable, and refreshingly honest when helping us choose between dishes. We started with the deviled eggs and fried green tomatoes, paired with the Black Sheep Mule and a watermelon cocktail (wish I remembered the name!). For our mains, we ordered the short rib rigatoni and the steak bulgogi bowl. To finish, we shared the weekly dessert special: an Earl Grey tres leches. Everything was exactly what I hoped for and more. The starters were standout, the entrees were packed with flavor, and the overall aesthetic of the space was just beautiful. We'll definitely be back--next time for brunch!

It was also my first time at The Black Sheep but I had always heard wonderful things - all of which turned out to be true. The loft area is beautiful and overlooks the entire restaurant. Also when you reserve the loft, which holds up to 16 people, you order off the regular menu. I loved this as other places I checked into were much more restrictive with a higher minimum spend and fixed menus for groups larger than 8. We had 12 in our group. We started with a bunch of appetizers for the table and cocktails. Appetizers included the bacon tower, fried green tomatoes, hushpuppies, crispy chicken wings, and Mediterranean garlic shrimp. Dinner entreés were jambalaya pasta, the American wagyu burger, pulled short rib rigatoni and branzino almondine. There were zero complaints. We enjoyed EVERYTHING!! The bourbon butter cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert literally took me over the top. My belly was ready to burst :) Our waiter was attentive throughout the entire time and everything we ordered came out perfect. I must go back soon. It is a distance from where I live but there's so many things on the fabulous menu I want to try.

The parts of the winery I did see were beautiful. The house served as a Civil War hospital, then a home and now winery since 2006. The outside view is beautiful with multiple tables to sit and enjoy wine and live music on the weekends. Mary, a fellow educator, took excellent care of me when I arrived! She was so warm and friendly and did a great job of explaining all the wines and helping me find wines that fit my preference. I ended up joining their wine club and left with 8 bottles. Loved the quirky corky menu for a festive touch! We loved the Viognier, Virginia's signature grape! The Cabernet Franc Reserve was a casual wine that we were told would be great with pizza and Netflix! The coppery Cabernet Sauvignon was peppery and slightly dry which we liked! The Chardonnay subtle unique; more than oak and buttery, Zach said if you want just oak and butter, rub Land O' Lakes on a tree! Lol!
