Price vs experience. For a 2 egg omelette, I spent almost $20, which did come with a generous fruit serving. Flavors were good but with a walk up dining experience price feels high, almost double from photos here on yelp. The experience, it was 58° outside but they had their ac on full blast, so cold I had to grab a jacket. The espresso machine was broken, so no coffee for me, would have gotten a tea, but didn't feel like paying the $6.29 for just tea from their disorganized kitchen. I ordered the amber iced tea (local Feel Better Tisane tea, freshly squeezed orange juice, local honey) which is a spring/summer special drink, and the breakfast burrito. The drink is really good cold, but once it became room temp, the honey overpowers the drink, so def have it cold. The breakfast burrito is really tasty but I think it would be a thousand times better with potatoes instead of beans. The beans don't really go with the sausage, egg, and cheese. Or at least give the option to substitute it with potatoes. My wife got the Gable (turkey bacon, egg whites, brie, plum chutney, spinach on focaccia panini) and it was really good. I took a bite of it and enjoyed it more than my burrito. The home fries were also solid. The people working were pretty nice and the inside is decorated well. Hidden Julles is always a hit! The food is fresh, delicious, and appropriately portioned. Four of us met up after traveling back to town for a wedding. As former locals who now live out of state it's become a tradition to grab a bite at our old favorite restaurant for lunch. I love the local artwork on display and for sale decorating the dining area, and the staff is always courteous and friendly. For a group of people who have multiple allergies Hidden Julles has remained just that for us. With two of us being gluten intolerant/celiac, one with a soy allergy, and the other two having tree nut and dairy allergies we are all able to find something delicious and eat. I'm also very fond of the gluten free muffins and my husband loves the cinnamon rolls. Their fresh pressed juices are also a favorite treat. read more

We've yet since to have a Decent meal since. Reuben not even toasted/ grilled bread, last time no Kraut... really? Never even responded. Eggs benedict . twice ordered.. another .. what the heck? Awesome experience here today. My friend always raves about this place and I can completely see why!! The service is exceptional, I ordered a caramel cashew latte with 1/2 the caramel to make it less sweet, a hidden treasure smoothie as is, a blue topaz and subbing coconut water to make it less sweet (per suggestion from the barista) added chia and added vegan protein, the freshly squeezed strawberry lemonade (he explained to me they sweeten this with strawberry puree and apple juice- so innovative!), and got a yummy huge cinnamon bun on the house! Looks incredible and it was a busy happening spot. I will certainly be back to have their breakfast as some of those burritos sound too good to pass up. This spot originally was in Warrenton but I'm glad to have it here in haymarket for the best Saturday morning pick me up! The Hidden Julles truly is a hidden jewel. We had trouble finding it, because there are no markings or signs from the road to indicate that anything is there. I think that is part of the charm because who would want to visit a place called "The Hidden Julles" if it wasn't hidden. The restaurant is really cute and the servers are kind and polite. We had a free sample of some delicious monkey bread, I had a blueberry muffin, and my daughter was thrilled to find that they had gluten free muffin options. The food was delicious. My daughter had the Vegan Bowl and I had the Spicy Sunrise Sandwich. Both were delicious! I highly recommend hunting this little "Jewel" down for breakfast. read more

Holy crap is all I can say. Just ate here for snack and it was mind blowing. I got a quesadilla which came in 4 big slices with a pretty good price. The food came out fast and warm. I only ate 2 slices but took the other two home but I think the highlight of this place is the vibe and customer service. First off the vibe is so peaceful with nice jazz playing in the background. And the service was amazing also as one of the chefs constantly asked if the food was good and even brought us out a free cinnamon roll which was so amazing. Had brunch here with my girlfriend on a Saturday morning. Wait was 20 minutes for drinks and 35 for food. Restaurant was very busy. We picked up a day-old cinnamon roll to hold us over. For $2 that was a great value! Tasted just as good as a fresh one. We ordered a Berried Treasure smoothie, which was made of raspberry, blueberry, and strawberry - but to be honest it tasted overwhelmingly like raspberry. My girlfriend said it tasted identical to the Costco smoothies. Was a bit of a letdown. I ordered the Mediterranean Avocado toast. To be honest, it didn't really taste all that Mediterranean. I liked the flavors. Bites that had tomato, avocado, egg, pesto and toast were delicious! They all balanced each other well. My main complaint is portion size. Maybe it was because we had to wait for 35 minutes but I wolfed this thing down in probably 3 minutes. It was great but I was still hungry, even after I had half a smoothie AND half a cinnamon roll. Hidden Jule's is a quaint, lowkey cafe in old town Haymarket. They have great healthy options to eat for breakfast with ample seating, both outdoor and indoor. I wanted to love this place however I waited an hour and a half for an omelette and my friend's sandwiches. The food was okay but not worth that kind of wait. They should be upfront about how long food would take. My friend also had to repeat her order four times before the upfront person was able to put it in. Everything is also pretty expensive for the quality. This makes shopping local difficult with the quality, price, and wait time. read more

Today was my first ever visit to this sweet restaurant. My friend and I went there because they offered Gluten free, which I am. I was so surprised when I asked about the oils they use in some of their food, I was told , olive oil, avocado oil and coconut oil...WOW...Not too many places use these due to costs. I suffer from being allergic to all seed type oils. Jake who waited on us was extremely helpful and even showed me what oil brands they use. Thanks so much! I've visited Hidden Jules many times and thought I'd write a review. I haven't had anything I don't enjoy yet. From the smoothies to the sandwiches everything is fresh and delicious. The place is cute and the service is always pretty ok. One recommendation would be cleaning the floors, last time I was in it was quite dirty. AWFUL! We ordered a Cuban Sandwich, a Rueben Sandwich and French Toast Stix for the kiddo. The Rueben was the WORST sandwich I have had ever in my life (70 years....that's a lot of sandwiches to compare with). No Swiss, one piece of corned beef, dry dry dry awful bread that was made in a toaster, no thousand island and no sauerkraut. The Cuban was just as bad. ordered fries. room temperature, limp and tasteless. The kid even refused the French toast. Store also seemed dirty. The reason I chose to come here was based on the menu. Had I known that the prices posted on their website were untrue, I likely would have gone to a different establishment, or at the very least have gotten something to eat that would have been of more value. It's not hard to upload a PDF to a website so I'm feeling like this is an attempt to lie to consumers about costs to get them in the door. And once I was in there, and the food ordered was already ready, I felt pressured to simply pay for it. They also do not put prices on their baked goods so you have to awkwardly ask or just hope that something is not out of your price range when you go to pay. It seems like it was gonna be a cool new place to go to but I do not recommend. The hot food I got itself was also cold and soggy with not even a napkin, let alone fork, so awesome. First time visiting and after what had been a busy day for them with a large pizza order amid a festival in town. The staff were friendly and very helpful navigating the menu. The interior is charming but cleanliness was an issue on our visit and could have been from the festival crowds. There were several sick children at a large table in the corner and short turnover between the families of each of them. Also, several tables needed attention due to spills etc...so we chose to take our lunch out to the patio. The outdoor seating is in a small courtyard type area and is lovely! Our food was delicious! Ambiance is rustic but cozy and fun. Food is good, pastries sandwiches, coffee and breakfast to a good lunch spread. Outside seating is very nice in spring and fall. Today we found that they now are encouraging cash payment and uncharging people using credit cards 4% in today's cashless society. When I see this I think three things: 1) they are profiteering off the credit card users b/c credit cards don't charge 4% 2) cash is easier to hide from taxes. 3) willing to turn some customers away with the upcharge practice signals management problems. The experience left the proverbial "bad taste" in our mouth before we even ordered. The smarter way to do this is to have all the prices listed normally and then on the register have a cash discount "button" that lists a discount on the receipt. Simply advertise "4% discount for cash" by the register. This means that the price people see is the price they pay without a surprise negative line item on the bill. Regardless, we left and probably won't be back. Accordingly we will never know if this changes. Note: Visa and Mastercard charge merchants processing fees between 1.5 percent and 2.5 percent to accept their credit cards, whereas American Express charges 2.5 percent to 3.5 percent. My wife ordered a chicken cheese steak sub and it was skimpy beyond belief. All bread and no chicken. Same with lamb gyro. Does not make sense?? I live in Haymarket and have had great food here. It was as if we were on a hidden camera show to see our reaction on the smallest sandwich ever. There was nearly not any chicken on the sandwich what so ever. It was 95% bread, tomato, and anything but meat. We ate outside because there were so many flies inside. Small town charm does not excuse not cleaning. The windows have not been cleaned in years. And the broken door kept blowing open because the latch was completely misaligned. I could realistically look past all this if the food was on par. Great place. Fresh food and menu. Nice staff. Great coffee and bakery. Small, but several seating areas, two indoor areas and one very nice spacious patio. About 10 tables with umbrellas outside. Would be very dog friendly on the patio. I had a very yummy breakfast sandwich with coffee, since it was 9 am and I was waiting for my dog at the vet. Egg whites on focaccia with Brie spinach and a chutney. I also picked up a massive cinnamon bun "to-go" to take home to the family. I may have to take a taste before I get it home, lol. The area is smaller than I thought, but they have outdoor seating + additional indoor seating! I got a latte & my mom got a smoothie, both were good! Our food was also great! I really enjoyed the French toast, it was a little sweet but not overly so it was perfect! I loved how the inside looked and the local artists drawings/paintings on the wall.
