My husband went in with my son for the first time and had booked an appointment with Susan. He sat down to wait and Susan was cutting a younger man's hair and he said it's didn't look even and she replied with "idk what to tell you I've already made it shorter". I was a loyal customer for many years. I will not step foot in that place ever again. What used to be a welcoming, happy salon has become a sweatshop, (literally) with unhappy stylists. Unhappy stylists means you suffer, not only their attitudes but their work is now subpar. Try sitting under a dryer in the summer with no AC. The shop is uncomfortable, cramped and unpleasant. I won't go there ever again. P.S. The shop kitty is gone. read more

Came in for a touch up and highlights on July 28th with Courtney Friermood. I asked for a refund on the touch up because it did not take. I am no longer located in the area for me to risk Courtney even touching my hair so im stuck with having fried hair and having to redo my hair because Miss Courtney does not want to be held accountable for her work! read more

With the Covid 19 pandemic I had not had my hair cut in a beauty salon in 10 months. So 5 months ago, I took my hair in my own hands with the unfortunate assistance of my husband and tried to cut my own hair. YIKES!! Well, a week ago I called The Cut Above and Suzie transformed my hair to a professional hair style again. I am so grateful and pleased. Thank you Suzie!! We were outside on a patio with wood slats built for a semi-private and semi-wind protected area. We both wore masks. I washed and conditioned my hair before I got there. I'll admit I get worried going to small town salons. I've lived in small towns most of my life and I've had some hack job hair cuts. I'm very pleased to have such a nice salon in town. Kersey is very experienced, I'm happy with my haircut and she's very knowledgeable on using fun vibrant colors. When I first started using bright hair colors I went to a larger fancy salon and they messed up. Kersey fixed their mistakes, did a fantastic job and I get tons of compliments. read more

Took our 1.5 year old to get his first haircut. What?!?! He now looks like Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber - only worse! It looks like 3 different haircuts, but with no or bad transitions. Didn't want bangs... Bangs aren't even straight. Every time we look at it, we just say 'oh, it's so terrible!' Maybe they are good at adult haircuts. I don't know... read more

Kersey is great and friendly. Suzie however is catty and really rude. Major man bashing with a client in front of 2 men awkwardly waiting in the waiting area, well within ear shot. I felt bad for them. Also notice she was rude and short to some kids in the salon as well. read more

I was thrilled with the close to my home proximity of this salon so in a pinch I took a chance on this place and was even more thrilled how fantastic a job she did ! Got a haircut here today. I'm very pleased; my hair was long and I don't blow dry, flat iron, or curl my hair. Susan, my stylist gave me a fab cut and used only hair spray to keep bangs in place. Hair maintenance doesn't have to involve lots of time and products so I have no excuse not to be able to blow dry for a few minutes and use the hairspray. I purchased the White Sands liquid texture firm hold extreme hair spray which is high shine, humidity resistant (I live in Michigan and we do have high humidity in the summer) and zero flaking. I like that the spray is in a pump spray bottle not an aerosol spray. I wish I'd taken a before and after pic. Thanks Susan read more

i dont not recommend this salon! its filthy! i was on vacation over the summer and decided to pamper myself by getting a haircut. i found myself with lice! i should have known this was going to be a bad experience when i fist walked in the crowded salon, it looked as if it had not benn cleaned in months! the sylist was very rude at that!!!!! thumbs down!!!! read more
