Also, fear of scissor-happy hairdressers who take off too much hair and don't listen to your wants and needs. You may ask, "Why Mandi, what caused you to get haircutophobia?" I'll tell you a story. I was four, and I had lovely long, long, curls. My older brother was growing bored of cutting the hair of his teddy bear, so he thought it would be wise to attempt his newfound skills on his kid sister. Guess who started kindergarten that year with an awful bowl haircut to her ears? Yep. This girl. Sigh. As such, ever since that fateful day, my quest for the perfect hairdresser has been on. I realized I had bookmarked this place some time ago, and with an upcoming vacation I decided to call. I asked the receptionist who she recommended for long hair, and she said "Michael". Conveniently, he was available for an appointment the following day at 10:30 am. I came in this morning and met Michael, who recognized me from Sephora days, and I recognized him as well. We were off to a great start, and I immediately felt comfortable. He talked to me about what I wanted and we had our game plan. This is the first time ever at a salon that the person who cut my hair, also washed and blew out my hair. I was VERY impressed with this, as many salons will have one person shampoo you, then you get your haircut, and sometimes another person will blow out your hair. I have A LOT of hair, and I knew it can be a pain to have to blow dry but Michael loved it and said it was one of his favorite parts of doing hair. Umm...then wouldja mind coming by my place every a.m. to do it? Pretty please? I never felt rushed and the total time spent from start to finish was about an hour and fifteen minutes. Michael gave me an AMAZING haircut, I feel like a total superstar. Watch out, Beyoncè! Mandi's in town! This is one of the best, if not THE best, hair cut I have ever had. I've received many compliments already, my parents loved it, the boy loves it, I love it. And as an added bonus, I ran into a few people that I hadn't seen in a very long time at Target afterwards looking fab-u-lous. Don't ya just love that feeling? After turning 50, going through 30 + years of the hairdresser carousel, menopause and an enormous amount of stress, my beautiful long blond hair was slowly starting to turn to straw and it was getting shorter and shorter. Short hair was just not a great look for me. I began to think about extensions and came across several reviews of Hair Addict on local Facebook and Instagram reviews. I also stalked their IG page and noticed some beautiful work she had done for charity to a woman that lost her hair due to brain cancer. It was incredible and I had to check this salon out. In November of 2021, I walked into Hair Addict, without an appointment, to check them out. I was greeted by her amazing staff who introduced me to Angela, the owner. I was so depressed and I think Angela really felt for me! I hated my hair and always wore a hat to cover it. Angela immediately made time for me to evaluate my hair and discuss the process of extensions. I then discussed the cost of services and ordered my new hair. A week later, I was transformed! I felt beautiful and more like myself again! I cried and then Angela gave me a hug and we cried together! In those moments in life, all the sacrifices you make come full circle. I know it is just hair but it was really important to me and my confidence was boosted. Angela and her staff do impeccable work. Angela is a master in her craft and is constantly educating herself and her team in her field of expertise. If you get to know her well enough, you will know her backstory, her struggle and see why she loves what she does and puts her heart and soul into her work. I will NEVER again go to another salon. I trust Angela and her staff at Hair Addict like I have never trusted another stylist before. You will have no regrets about the services they provide. Hair Addict has become like a family to me. The Front Desk staff is great about communicating pricing and appropriate tips which has always been awkward for me in the past. Due to their success and growing clientele, they moved over a year ago to an expanded space and it is beautiful and welcoming. You will have no regrets about making an investment in yourself at Hair Addict! Quality extensions and professional hair Services in general are not cheap.You get what you pay for, especially in this business. The time and process of extensions is extremely tedious and you should only trust an experienced hand. Be very wary of FALSE, negative reviews! Social media, and reviews can be a beautiful thing and help your business but successful women and businesses are often the target of haters that hide behind their keyboards. If you are unhappy with any business at any time, talk to the owner or manager and at least give them a chance to settle the situation before you bash any business.
