I am so happy to have found this little gem. I searched for coffee shops on the way to Winston and found this tucked away right off the highway less than a mile away. Located in a strip mall by Walmart, once you go inside, the decor transports you into a tranquil oasis perfect for working, meeting a friend for coffee, or enjoying one of their many offerings on a solo date. Starting with their chocolate croissant--WOW. Really happy with their to-go containers, too. Their seasonal lattes are many, along with their many offerings around the year. I had the gingerbread latte and it was fantastic. Great service, fair pricing, lots of choices.

Dirty Thai Latte & Toasted Coconut Latte
    Jake V.

    | Overview + Fairly fast service + Convenient location near Walmart & other shops - Dirty Thai Latte is an insult to Thai tea lovers - Toasted Coconut Latte lacks toasty flavor & creaminess - Cheap-looking tables & chairs outside make this place uninviting. | Full Review My girl & I were looking for a decent coffee shop after eating lunch at Golden Corral for Father's Day, and found The Daily Grind to be the closest after searching here on Yelp after seeing decent reviews, but this was the 2nd time this month where the reviews didn't seem to match our taste. My Queen ordered iced Toasted Coconut Latte, which is a blend of coconut syrup, shots of espresso with milk of choice. I ordered the iced Dirty Thai Latte, which is described to be a blend of "house-batched Thai tea, sweetened confensed milk, 2 or 3 shots of espresso, touch of milk, topped with house-made whip. Both beverages are under the "Summer Specials" section of The Daily Grind's menu and can also be served hot; sadly, there's nothing special about these drinks. We ended up paying around $16+ for both drinks (with $1 tip included). The Dirty Thai Latte mixed with shots of espresso sounds like a unique idea, a rare kind of drink that only true coffee/tea connoisseurs could create, but instead, what I tasted was a failed experiment. The drink did not taste like authentic Thai tea; it lacked flavor and tasted watery. The blend with the coffee is a disaster, and for the first time ever, I ended up throwing my drink at home, unfinished, only consuming about 35% of it. I also could not taste the condense milk that it's supposed to have. My girl's drink was a bit better compared to mine - which isn't really saying much. She also did not finish hers but she drank more than me. I took a couple of sips of her drink, and while I could taste the coconut flavor from the syrup, this latte lacked the toasty flavor we got from Common Grounds at downtown Apex (see my 5-star review of that). It also tasted watery and lacked the bold richness we expect from a high quality coffee. As for the ambiance, it's a small space inside; we don't mind small coffee shops as long as they have a nice, chill vibe. While the interior looks well-lit and clean, the chairs & tables outside look uncomfortably flimsy. Who would want to chill outside there? An ideal coffee shop is supposed to recharge, revitalize, and re-energize us before we get back to our "daily grind" but disappointingly, this place failed to provide that experience in our quick visit. | Overall Score: 0.2/5

    Raspberry Mocha Fratte, Pastry

Variety of prices and drinks, friendly staff, great coffee, and a drive through available! Simple and complex coffee options, and I like the different price points available too. Theres a fun shop inside with a few seating options too :D I got a pastry and raspberry mocha frozen latte (Fratte) and it was sweetly delicious :)

Cute, local coffee shop located in Burlington near the Walmart. I ordered a ginger muffin and a small hot chocolate. Everything tasted very good! Staff is friendly with upbeat attitudes. The coffee shop is intimate with a few tables inside and outside. It was buzzing when I was there, but I was able to have a conversation and not overhear anyone else's. The shop was decorated inside for Valentine's Day. There's a small parking lot outside the shop and the place also has a drive thru. Highly recommend if you'd like to support a local business!

Absolutely loooove this local coffee spot! I grew up in Burlington and love to see local businesses like this! The girl taking my order was so sweet and recommended the seasonal butterscotch miso oak milk latte! Sooooo delicious! I will definitely be returning next time I am back in btown!!!

This is such a cute place, honestly it went beyond my expectations. The decoration, the attention, the playlist, and of course the coffee, synced in order to get the best experience ever! Loved it! This is def a must! I had the peppermint Patty coffee and a cheese Danish.

Was so excited to try out this new coffee shop and I was pleased by the amazing service and the yummy pastries! I ordered the matcha iced latte with peppermint and it was perfect, loved that I could actually taste the matcha even thru the peppermint flavor. The chocolate croissant as well as the blueberry muffin were warmed to perfection. I was also given a hot cocoa sample thats made using local milk. They also have a great choice of gluten free options for pastries such as the blueberry muffin I ordered! The workers I met were very sweet and welcoming, great coffee shop! And cant forget about the AMAZING Christmas decorations

The first punch card in my life that I haven't lost and FINALLY COMPLETED!!!! Can't wait for my free item and to start all over!!!
    Brooke A.

I AM OBSESSED with this Local Burlington coffee shop, so much so that for the first time in my life I have made it through a punch card!!!! I am looking forward to my free coffee on my next visit!!! I have been to this coffee shop just about every week since discovering it and sometimes twice a week! I've had just about EVERY SEASONAL DRINK between fall and now (Valentine's menu) and haven't had a drink miss yet! Honestly couldn't tell you which one has been my favorite because all the drinks, hot, cold, shaken, coffee, and matcha have been sooooo good! If I had to pick I would say the seasonal strawberry matcha has been a fave (I've gotten it multiple times this season)! My husband has also learned (without me telling him) that if he wants to surprise me in the morning to grab me a drink from here before work!!! The staff is super sweet and love that all of their ingredients are local, they have local business cards, and also sell local items. This is truly a BUY LOCAL HOT SPOT. Also, I can't forget to mention THE VIBES of this shop. It was honestly LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT when I saw the pink & neutrals decor, not to mention their winter holiday "Jolly Grind" decor is a holly jolly MUST SEE!!!! Even when I'm deep in my everyday Daily Grind, I treat myself with this shop if I want to clear my mind or have a little weekend me time!!!!

    Christmas latte vibes!!

I love The Daily Grind!! The baristas are always so sweet and welcoming, the atmosphere is so adorable and a great spot to go and get some work done, and the coffee is great!! I personally love getting their sugar free salted caramel syrup and most of the time I feel like you can tell when a syrup is sugar free but theirs tastes like the real deal! Other bonuses include Daisy the doodle and the convenient drive thru. I travel with my Daily Grind punch card everywhere I go and I somehow always end up there :)

This is one of the best lattes and the cutest. This latte was perfect for Halloween. All of their seasonal lattes are delicious and creative in flavor. The service is always so kind. The cafe is very aesthetic. It is a great place to study or catch up with a friend.

Vanilla Cream and Orange Cardamon Chai
    Montana H.

I would highly recommend stopping by The Daily Grind for your caffeine needs! Chase and Emily greet you with a smile and genuine enthusiasm and joy! There are lots of unique speciality drinks to choose from, and the staff can help you pick something you like! We loved an iced orange cardamon chai and iced vanilla cream. There is so much thought put into the business, including house-made syrup, milk from a local creamery, locally-made tea, locally-roasted beans from an employee-owned company, and more! Super groove interior with bright colors and uplifting messages!

Kept it simple--nitro cold brew and an iced Bear Claw with almond milk. First off, that nitro was clean as hell. Smooth, no bitterness, and the fact that it's naturally sugar-free without sacrificing flavor? That's a win all day. The Bear Claw was solid too--nice balance with the almond milk, not overly sweet, just easy to enjoy. And one thing I really respect--their whipped cream is always sugar-free. That's huge for me living a sugar-free lifestyle, and it shows they actually think about their customers. Best part though, out of nowhere, both the barista and I looked up and boom... line out the door. We kind of just looked at each other like "well damn," and honestly, good for them. That's what happens when you're doing things right. Even with the rush, everybody kept a great attitude. Customers, staff; just good people all around. That small-town Burlington feel is real here. Folks talking, connecting, or just chilling on the couch doing their own thing--no pressure, no weird energy, just a genuinely cool environment. And this place actually feels welcoming. Not that forced "too cool" coffee shop vibe you sometimes get. Just real people, treating you like a normal human being. That goes a long way. Also worth calling out... So their rewards program is legit. You get 10 points for every dollar you spend, and it adds up fast. I've already built up enough where I could knock about half off my bill if I wanted to. That's real value, not just marketing fluff. It's got that perfect mix of small-town vibe with modern convenience, and I really hope that never changes. This has been a consistently solid spot for me, and I'll keep coming back!

I've been to Salvation many times, and it used to be one of my top-recommended coffee shops in Burlington, NC. Unfortunately, not anymore. Customer service during my recent visits has been disappointing. The baristas often made me feel like an inconvenience rather than a customer. While there was one occasion when the person at the register was kind and welcoming. My most recent visit was the day after Christmas when I met up with my siblings, and the experience was especially unpleasant. The atmosphere was unwelcoming, customer service was poor, and the coffee itself was underwhelming. The espresso in my latte was barely noticeable. Worst of all, the music was extremely loud and filled with constant profanity, to the point that we felt uncomfortable staying inside and had to leave to meet outside instead. I hope this review is not taken in the wrong way, but I genuinely used to enjoy Salvation Coffee, but the decline in service, atmosphere, and overall experience has been noticeable and disappointing.
