I recently stopped by Awoo Coffee in downtown Greensboro on Thursday morning and had a great experience. This cozy spot has a fun, welcoming vibe with calming music playing in the background. It's a wonderful addition to the growing coffee scene in the heart of the city. Whether you're catching up with friends or enjoying a quiet moment solo, it's an easy place to settle in (and the Wi-Fi password is readily available, which is always appreciated). The highlight of my visit was the small Maple Latte that Leo made -- it was absolutely delicious and perfectly balanced. Leo's friendly service and welcoming attitude really elevated the experience and made me want to come back. The only downside were parking, evening hours, and events. Like many spots downtown, finding a convenient space nearby can be a bit challenging, it's worth keeping in mind if you're planning a visit. All in all, Awoo is a great local coffee destination with flavorful drinks and a fun atmosphere. Four stars from me -- and as I say in many of my reviews, I'll likely be back.
Great opportunity to stop in and grab a drink from Awoo last week on the way to a meeting next door. They gave reasonable prices and give great customer service. My favorite thought, has to be the seating in front of the window, where you can sip and people watch while relaxing. I was able to enjoy my drink and spot my coworker pass by on the way to the meeting. Very calm and inviting otherwise.
I stopped into this cafe to find very little indoor seating. They had a horchata matcha special on, and despite some similarity in spelling, these are very different beverages. The result was that the horchata largely won out. Their take on it was well spiced. It was a lot for one beverage and I didn't feel compelled to sample the food, but as a quick downtown stop on a cold day, it worked.
I stopped by here around 2:30pm on a Saturday while walking around downtown. I got a banana bread and iced coffee with almond milk and mocha syrup. I also got my banana bread warmed up. This was a little under $10. I received my items a few minutes after ordering. The banana bread was thick, had sufficient moisture, and was tasty. However, it wasn't fully warmed as part of it was still cool. I enjoyed the coffee for the most part. For me, I tasted more of the coffee than the flavor and I prefer the opposite. I sat at the table by the entrance. I needed to charge my phone and have a place to chill while my car was having maintenance work done nearby. They have a variety of chair types and options (layout) for different group sizes. Dogs are allowed inside. Staff were friendly.
I finally got around to trying Awoo! I have to say, my expectations were exceeded. It's cozy inside with plenty of seating. It's easy to make yourself comfortable and enjoy a good book. It's pet friendly--of course! For me, the rose flavored coffee was outstanding. It was quite tasty, and it's something I'd order again. They have a wide range of flavors available, so you're bound to find something classic too! Their service was great. Looking forward to coming back with the pup!
I'll readily admit, I am not the best person to rate coffee shops based on their coffee. My coffee journey is still pretty new, and I'm very much a novice. Most of the time, what I am handed has enough other stuff in it, that the coffee flavor is there but balance by other creamy things. Awoo does just as good a job of that as any other place around, and also provides a comfortable environment for me to chill or work in, and that's what I usually need when spending time in a coffee shop. In that regard, you have a lot of choice. The seating and surface options are extremely varied. You can find a spot for a quick nap, a place with a comfy chair and a table for working, or some easy chairs for conversation with a friend or more. It's very eclectic in there, and that has kind of become the vibe of downtown Greensboro in general, so it fits. Anytime someone opens the door, you get the howl of a dog or wolf... going AWOOOOOOO which I think is a funny touch. Very fitting for what they're going for here. I like this place.
What a cute and lovely cafe!! I have come here a few times to grab a matcha, chat with the lovely staff, and chill on the couches. The matcha is always yummy, with fun seasonal flavors. I've had the ube, cherry, coconut mango, etc. and it's always a fun and new experience. But mostly, I come back because the staff is super kind, and the couches and vibes are very relaxing and lively.
Second coffee and second "office" of the day, I was sitting in the back area of Awoo from for about three hours on this workday. I greatly enjoyed the coffee and the ambiance of this tiny coffee shop. I love the "Awoo" that goes off every time someone opens the door. And I definitely enjoyed my latte this morning. The wifi worked well and after I was able to move to the table close to the power outlet, it was all perfect. I would not change a thing here. I started going to Awoo about a year ago and am honestly mad I didn't start going sooner. The iced hazelnut latte is fantastic and the coffee shop itself is super cute and always clean any time I've visited. Service is quick and friendly and usually always has a good playlist going. I love sitting in the little window seat if it's available Excited to continue to support them, even though I need to branch out and try other menu items but that iced hazelnut latte has me in a chokehold.
What a cute little spot! We were walking around looking for some good coffee downtown and came across this coffee shop. It's in a great central location, and the shop is very cute with lots of comfy furniture. Also larger than it looks from the outside. The service was quick and efficient. I got a dirty apple spice chai, which was very good. My husband got regular coffee, which he enjoyed and said hit the spot. The fall specials sound intriguing, so if I come here again would love to try the Pumpkin Spice Latte. Overall, a good little spot to discover on a lazy morning.
They'rrrre Gr-r-reat!! No, it's not Tony the Tiger, but our pup who enjoyed this place as much as that famous furry feline. She loved the patrons who gave her love, the friendly barista with a treat ready for her, and the people/dog watching on the comfy carpet next to where her owners were chilling. We enjoyed it as much as she did. We've been here a few times now and each and every coffee drink and pastry we've gotten has been top notch. My favorite is off the beaten path and unique for sure: it's their brightly orange colored Thai Tea. Flavorful, silky and smooth. I get it every time we come here now. One of the comfiest spots in downtown Greensboro. Plenty of seating from front to back with bookshelves as partitions between 3 separate areas. Love the vibe. It feels like you're in your own comfortable living room enjoying coffee and pastries, relaxing, working, playing, or catching up with friends and family. Bring yourself, bring a friend, or bring your furry loved ones. Don't miss out on this one. read more

Was able to stop by to this place after having it on my bucket list for sometime. Walking in the place was cute and the vibe was very quiet. I ordered an iced latte and I got it pretty quickly too. Overall the latte was alright. I wouldn't say it was my favorite. But that won't stop me from coming back and trying something else from their menu. read more
So, the blueberry cream cheese matcha. Haven't been in Greensboro long, but this is easily the best matcha I've had in a while. The cream cheese cold foam was so good. They're blueberry syrup is perfectly sweetened is want the kind of thick that just sits at the bottom of the cup the entire time. Great flavor the the matcha too. This is a warm and cozy space. There was one barista who knocked out drinks like a pro. She was super efficient, taking orders and making drinks without anyone having to wait long. I think this will be my new go-to for matcha. Excited to try some of their coffee on my next visit. read more

Server messed up our order but it was still good! Hot vanilla mocha mint tea latte is good, iced is good too! Ran out of chocolate croissants We tried regular and ham and cheese. We would come back for coffee only! Still very impressed with the coffee/tea item. read more

I highly recommend this coffee shop! Not only is the coffee absolutely delicious, the service was spot on and it has such a cozy vibe. Not to mention, they are dog friendly which makes it that much better! If you're ever in Greensboro, you have to give it a try! You won't regret it :) read more

I've been to Awoo Coffee a number of times, and I've always been greeted and treated well. I love the different options available but my favorite drink is is the Matcha Latte. When you walk in, you will hear the big AWOOOO! Clean restrooms as well. read more

Lots of street parking. 1 person working so no fault to worker but service was slow. With other options in the area I probably would not return Iced latte was good read more
Loved the cozy vibes at Awoo and enjoyed a decent latte with a shot of coconut syrup. The cold brew was very strong though. I was a fan of the big leather chairs that invite you to stay awhile. There was plenty of space and crayons for kids but it also had quieter space by the windows for working. The food options and pastries were a bit lacking but still a great overall experience. read more
A lot has changed from my first review 10 months ago. The space has come alive with tons of neat features. Today I met the owner Ben who was so kind and gave the best customer service! It's clear to see he set out for community in all the little touches. Baked goods delivered fresh at 6am, TONS of seating in a variety of cute groupings for privacy, reading material from all sorts of genres, dog treats and an accommodating space for your furry friends, activities for kids... and most importantly good coffee that you'll certainly be talking about. I was about to order the Mocha, but Ben suggested the Naughty Boy Latte and it hit the spot! It's basically an elevated mocha... with hints of orange and amaretto. Certainly a unique flavor, sooo good! I'm so glad I stopped back in to see all the updates and get another drink. I also had the blueberry cheese danish which was every bit perfect. Was in downtown G'boro today and wanted some coffee for a pick me up. Found Awoo Coffee and dropped in. I was welcomed by a gentle howl....from an audio of course. Greeted also by Caleb. Nice young man. Ordered a cinnamon bun and a puppymint mocha. Yes, puppymint since there's a dog theme. Great experience and great vibe. Give them a try. You'll be glad you did. read more
Love this little coffee shop! Located right in the heart of downtown Greensboro, conveniently located to where I get my hair done is this little gem of a place! The matcha latte is so good and there's so many flavor options to spruce it up a little. The service is good and they quick at making your drinks. I also like how nice and calming the place is, great for coming to chat with a friend or do studying/work. Overall it's a great local spot to support! read more

Employees were super sweet, interior was clean, cozy, and cute, and they did have one or two vegan/gf desserts in their display case which was nice to see. The only downside to me was the price. The small tea latte I ordered was nearly $8 which is insane IMO. read more

I got the matcha latte and it was aesthetically pleasing as well as tasted really good for my first time trying it, I've been a regular for 2 years now and the service is always fast and pleasant, the workers always have a genuine personality and not a past tense ick how most places have in the morning. I enjoy the space as it is a good work spot and is also cozy, go support! read more

Downtown's cutest new coffee shop! I have visited Awoo Coffee a few times now and I find that I love it more and more each time I'm there. Amanda has been the barista that has been there the most and she's very knowledgeable and friendly-I love seeing her. She is great with recommendations and parings if you ever want to try something different or don't know what to get. I love that their coffee itself is tasty and I'm not a black coffee drinker but I've found myself being able to drink their black coffees and enjoy them when I do. I love their homemade syrups-the Maple Cinnamon is currently my favorite but they're all crisp and fresh without being overly sweet or overpowering. Another thing I love about the location is the space. While most coffee shops are bright and loud, I love that Awoo is so relaxed and laid back. It gives a certain calmness that's inviting and makes you want to stop by and read the paper or work on something you've been putting off. It gives productive comfort and those are the best places if you work remotely and looking to change up your pace. Obviously it's one of my favorites and I frequent often but check it out, try something new, and it's dog friendly so bring your favorite Doggo in and you might get a chance to meet the Owner's dog who is the face of their brand. read more

My new favorite coffee shop! So impressed with this cute little place on Elm. You'll need to park on the street or in a parking deck (one just around the corner!). It's pretty spacious inside and a great place to hang with friends or get some work/studying done. The coffee was DELICIOUS! I got a Brown Sugar latte with oat milk. I could have gotten another! I love the ambiance and how inviting it is here. There are also plenty of pastries and snack items for purchase. Prices are very comparable to similar establishments. Our baristas were wonderful and super friendly, and the service was quick and efficient. Highly recommend Awoo! I hope on my next visit I'm lucky enough to meet the famous mascot, Fyodor! read more

What a great coffee shop! They display works of art on the wall for sale, love this and wish more businesses did this to support the local art scene! Service was spectacular and they were so nice and helpful! The coffee was amazing!! Highly recommend!! read more

We LOVED Awoo Coffee! The atmosphere is so cute, there is plenty of seating, and places to take Instagram worthy photos. The coffee was delicious, and the service was fantastic. We will definitely be back next time we are in Greensboro. We give it 4 paws up! read more

If I could give them 10 stars I would. The service. The coffee was amazing. I drove my daughter crazy till she took me back. We are visiting NC. And this was hands down the best iced coffee I've had. Nice and warm inviting coffee shop. I make my own at home. But this is better told them I need them to move to Va read more
