I always enjoy the coffee and food from Sanctuary. The staff is very polite and I love the relaxed vibes.

Why do I keep coming back here? The coffee tastes great! There was a bit of a snag the last visit where 2 customers had an issue at the counter. There was a financial/technical issue where the 2 customers behind them had to wait for the entire staff to figure them out - for seven full minutes - seriously, and took first one staff, then passed to another, then all 3 are involved. When it was finally worked out, an apology was given - but guys - complimentary coffee would have made that wait disappear. read more

Gotta try the lemonades! Today came in after already having had multiple cups of coffee with breakfast, had their strawberry basil and it was PERFECT. Really nice space, too, not too crowded, for visiting or getting a little computer work in (which I did). Lovely service, too! Will definitely come back when in the area. read more

Driving through Whitsett, I decided to stop into Sanctuary Coffee for a coffee. I wound up indulging in a bagel, because they were from New Garden Bagels. I knew the bagel would be good. I was even more thrilled when they had choices of cream cheeses. I picked the Rosemary/olive oil bagel with the jalapeño cream cheese. I typically get warm coffee, but on this hot day, I picked the cold Americano with lavender. The Americano was so refreshing and delicious! Think I'm going to put this flavor in heavy rotation this summer. It didn't take long to get my drinks and bagel. I decided to eat my bagel inside. Love the peaceful feel of this shop. The smooth jazz playing and the brightness of this space made it very relaxing and inviting. It is very clean also. I'm going to make it a ritual to stop in this shop whenever I drive through Whitsett, which is often. Love this local shop and the staff were friendly. It shares a parking lot with other businesses and you won't have a problem finding a space. read more

Came here because I was in the area and didn't want to go to Starbucks. It's a small coffee shop in a shopping center, I've passed it a few times but finally decided to stop. I got there at about 8am. I saw the spring seasonal menu, so I decided to get their new queen bee flavor (a mix of vanilla, honey and cinnamon I think) in a hot latte with oat milk. The flavor was really good, if you are looking for something more coffee forward I would say get an extra shot of caffeine but I think overall the flavor was well balanced! The service was quick and fast. It was only one person in the shop when I got there so I didn't have to wait in a line or anything. read more

Sanctuary Coffee is a local coffee shop in Whitsett, NC. I arrived pretty early in the morning, so it wasn't much of a wait. The decor was light and airy with plenty of inside seating and also some outside seating. I ordered an iced caramel/brown syrup latte with oatmilk. This place was great. They make their own flavorings in house lavender was what I got and it was delightful in a latte with extra double shot or espresso. Avocado toast is on point. Some of the best I've had. Staff and guests were very kind as I had my 3 kiddos on our way home from a camping trip where we got rained on packing up they were helpful and patient with us when it was needed. read more

The quality and taste of the beverages are always the same, h like the big chain coffee shops where you never know what you're gonna get. Each drink is made to order and the staff is super kind and polite The music is generally low key and soft...again, I like the chains. Once in a while it's loud but not generally. Seating is another story.... Today one of the two comfortable chairs has the spring coming out of the bottom and looks as if someone could get caught in it when standing up or sitting down. The tables and cafe chairs are all cheap looking metal and the chairs are cold and small and horribly uncomfortable. Need more comfortable seating. read more

Really great coffee!!! They don't make it scalding hot, so if you need that caffeine asap you can drink your coffee! They only have banana and avocado toast and a limited selection of pastries, so keep that in mind if you are looking for breakfast as well. Support your local coffee joint!! read more

I am absolutely in love with this place! Not only is the overall atmosphere clean and light, but the coffee, food, and service is fantastic! The decor is a modern minimalist style with a strong theme of nature brought in by the bare wood textures and the many plants draped, tucked, and displayed throughout the shop. It is such a comfortable space, even though I tend to like rustic, and a bit crowded themes, it really lends to the clean and relaxed atmosphere. The sound of faint music, trickling water, and open light makes it feel almost spa-like. The coffee is rich and made fresh for each cup you buy. They have an assortment of flavors (try asking for "Bev's Latte" when you go, it's my favorite, a cup of Jo with the spirit of a cinnamon roll) I highly recommend any of their "toasts" which are more like sandwiches missing their top slice of bread. (I recommend the avocado toast highly! Or a savory chicken salad toast for lunch). Last but not least, the folks who own, operate, and run this place are the most wholesome and good-natured people you'll meet. This is a family owned company, which means when you come in, they start to know you. I can't tell you how many times I go to other corporate-level coffee joints and "Beth" is on my cup. Every customer is just another fistful of dollars for the company. This is not just another corporate-owned coffee place selling you low grade coffee dressed up with syrups and sugar at an exorbitant price, this is a little slice of peace, filled with plants and friendly faces. People who are actually grateful for your business, because it helps put food on their table. A true treasure, a "sanctuary", just like the name. read more
