    Carrot cake from their Instagram
    Erika V.

I saw a slice of carrot cake posted on one of their Instagram stories a couple days ago. I called to ask if they offer it every day and the sweet employee said more than likely. When I came today, there were two slices left, and I bought one to go. The inside of the establishment looked so lovely and clean and I look forward to eating a meal here in the near future. The employees are very friendly and you better bet I devoured that piece of cake. It was one of the best slices of cake I've ever had, so dense and fresh and inexplicably delicious.

Husband and I live in Orange County but we come here quite often lol. It's probably my favorite breakfast place. I don't even need to eat GF and I would choose to eat here over other places. My husband has celiac so this is his spot! We love it so much! For me it's mainly Bc he feels 100% safe eating here. And we can share everything which means I get to try more dishes lol The other location Lilac Patisserie is really really cute too. Makes you feel fancy lol. Staff at both locations are exceptional and so kind. My fav dishes here are the French toast, apple sausage (SOOO GOOD, You must get it), pancakes, potatoes (also really good), coffee blueberry muffin, all their pastries really and the soup with the meatballs (I forget the name). Honestly, I think everything is good here. Love this place, we find every excuse to come here. Highly recommended.

I would have never guessed this place is 100% gluten-free! Although I'm not intolerant to gluten, a couple of my friends were in our party of 8. My girlfriends and I were passing through and wanted a pretty place to have brunch. Considering the location and how upscale it looks, the prices are very reasonable! The host was all smiles when we arrived and seated us right away despite being a bit early. The outdoor patio only has a few small tables, so we sat inside in the light, elegant dining area. Our friendly server took our drink orders moments after we seated. We enjoyed a couple bottles of Prosecco, champagne, a matcha latte and macchiato. My friend and I shared a couple dishes: - California Benedict, which included sautéed spinach, tomato, avocado and a side of mixed greens for $20. The eggs were not as runny as I like, but the hollandaise was perfect and all the ingredients were very fresh. - Vegetable Quiche with mushrooms, red peppers, caramelized shallots, spinach, jarlsberg swiss cheese and a side of mixed greens for $19.50. The crust was flaky and the quiche was packed with veggies in every bite. - I also tried the butternut squash soup and it was light and comforting. The croutons added a nice crunch to it too. All of our dishes came out pretty quickly and around the same time. My friends were happy with what they got. The servers were so nice, attentive and let us be our chatty and giggly selves. I would definitely return if I wanted brunch in Montecito again!

This place is great. Our favorite was the lasagna but everything we had was great. The ambience was nice and the staff was polite and helpful.

It's always such a relief to find gluten-free restaurants that can also accommodate tree nut and sesame allergies. Our server was so sweet and patient, answering all of our questions and making us feel comfortable dining here. The restaurant itself is a charming spot in Montecito, and the food was good. We'd love to come back and try it for both lunch and dinner next time we visit our son, who just moved there.

Quiet brunch spot, immediately sat at noon on a Saturday. Service was nice but not super attentive. Prices make sense for the location. $20 for this French toast only seems worth it because of the fresh berries on the side. Plate seemed a little empty though- idk if this is always how they serve the French toast but the presentation was lacking. Avocado toast, a millennial staple, was also a little bland, tomatoes were roasted but could have been cooked a tad longer in my opinion- although I'm sure preferences here vary. For the price here as well, there could have been a little more avocado. Lose a star here for French toast presentation and lackluster avo toast. I asked if there was a wheat bread option for the avocado toast and was told no. Only rustic white or brioche. Please consider a heart-healthy bread option. I know lilac is known for being a gluten free bakery, but for the bread choices, everyone else has a wheat option except them. Oddly enough a gluten free bread was not offered for the avo toast when I asked about alt bread options. Loses a star for no wheat bread option. While the prices are a little high in general, this is the case for every restaurant on coast village road.

Love the ambiance of this place, as a matter of fact that's what attracted us to walk in and look at their menu and decided to dine out in the patio. They got a nice food variety and list of wines from all over the place. Service was a slow, took a long time to get our food & drinks, even though the place wasn't that busy on a Sunday night. waiter, forgot about my drink and had to put out a reminder to get it. Food was good but I'll probably explore the other near bar fine looking establishments before I revisit this place in the near future. In my humble opinion, a solid 3 stars is the best I can do at this time.

Great clean atmosphere, kind staff, and service was good. Love the safe environment for customers with gluten intolerance. Especially loved the super soft bread

I ate at Lilac for the first time a couple months ago! I had only heard of the Patisserie on State St. before, and was not aware of the restaurant before my friend made the reservation! The ambiance in the restaurant was clean and bright. The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. I greatly enjoyed dining out at this restaurant and I hope to go again soon!

I can't really complain good food good location cool building The only thing that was wrong was the food we ordered took a while and the sausage I ordered took even longer 5/5

Waffles are fluffy and delicious but would serve with a mound of whipped cream then I was in heaven

Don't think you can sub salad for fries but no worries, as the breakfast potatoes were amazing. Many places offer breakfast potatoes but something seemingly simple is actually hard to make well. My friend's Bratwurst Sausage with Eggs, her favorite, was hearty and filling. A lot of indoor seating but we enjoyed our table outside, watching pedestrians on State St. and enjoying the beautiful scenery and architecture. We expected to wait to be seated but surprisingly it wasn't that busy. Order at counter and the food is brought to your table. As we waited, employee kindly gave us two free pastry samples, both delicious. All the baked goods I got to go I want again. Their scones are fabulous-slightly crunchy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside. Their tea service which comes with champagne is pricey, I believe $75 per person. But interior is a perfect colorful and relaxed setting for tea. My tastebuds dream of coming back. Will be thrilled when I next indulge on their pastries and quiche.

There was only one person in line and 4 staff members behind the counter standing around talking to each other. Nobody greeted us or asked for our bakery order. When I said excuse me to a dirty blond girl she replied "WHAT!" and continued to joke with a co worker. When the cashier finished with their customer they walked away and even though they saw we were waiting to be helped. I looked around and saw nobody helping seated customers or us at the bakery counter. Finally, the dirty blonde ask what we need and my response was "WHAT" ?! At this point we should have left and gone to Lilac Patisserie however we proceeded to give her our order. I told another customer behind us that rudeness seems to be the norm, and she agreed. I paid for our bakery items and asked an older woman scrolling on her phone if we could have a bag for all of our boxed treats. She grabbed a handful of bags and threw them at me from across the counter. We were appalled and left. We found a place to sit on State street to eat our treats and my daughter said she didn't want her Meringue because the dirty blonde girl used the back of her ungloved hand to repeatedly wipe her nose. We threw all $50 worth of baked goods in the trash. Yes, I should have gone back and complained I'm had everything refunded but it was Mother's Day and we didn't want anything more to do with this establishment. It was also an epiphany that they don't treat everyone this way. It could be you next time. Please go somewhere else. We will never go to anywhere but Lilac Patisserie which is to the left as you exit Andersons, past the stop light. You will definitely get your money's worth and the staff is friendly, professional, and greet you immediately as you reach the counter.

From the moment we walked in, it felt less like a restaurant and more like being invited into someone's passion project. The intimacy of the setting made it special right away--small group, shared experience, and a level of attention you just don't get in a traditional dining environment. Each course was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented, but more importantly, it delivered. The food was the clear star--clean, intentional, and incredibly well-executed. Every dish felt like it had a purpose. The steak and mushrooms were a standout, and dessert was right there with it. The wine pairings introduced us to bottles we wouldn't normally find or order ourselves, which added to the experience. If anything, I would've loved even more storytelling around the pairings--how and why each wine was chosen to complement the dish--but that's a small note in an otherwise incredible night. It's not just dinner--it's connection, storytelling, and craftsmanship all rolled into one. The space was very small, intimate setting but frankly just noisy as ceiling was low and everything was hard finishes. We had to talk loud to hear each other. So as servers presented the dish, they were not talking loud enough and most of time we couldn't hear what they said the dishes were, it was simply not clear. The food, was decent, I would have given 3-4 star for the food. However, half way through the course, I told our server we are worried with this little amount of 7 dishes would not fill us, I'm worried we would be hungry. And I really have to warn everyone if you come hungry with an appetite, trust my review and other reviews on here that mentioned the same thing, it's NOT enough food! We had dined at many Michelin star and fine dining restaurants, if they have a set menu we know each plate has small portion with nice presentation, but they will have many more courses to fill us up. Heritage only has 7 dishes and that's including dessert, with this price you could just have included 1-2 dishes that would be better. We went home and immediately cooked ramen to eat, that shows you how unsatisfying this meal was. Now moving onto the service, you really need to train your waiters and waitresses! Both me and my friend went to restroom separate times, my frd went down the hallway and passed by 2 servers and no one acknowledged him. If you are at any fine dining restaurants, and you left your seat the server immediately knows you are looking for a restroom and will direct you. They completely ignored him and looked sideways, he ended up walking all the way to the back of the kitchen and was confused then the kitchen staff told him you missed it, it was midway thru the hallway. Moreover, the restroom sign was white sign on a white door, it's so easy to miss it! The same thing happened to me too, I was looking for restroom and standing next to the kitchen counter, no one acknowledged me and I had to get their attention to ask if this is a restroom with me pointing at the door. You get the idea how unobvious that sign was and how bad the service was. I'm talking about one star Michelin, definitely not worth it in our opinion. Finally, that's right, I'm not done yet. The space is horribly designed with ventilation. Mid-way through the course, it was smokey in the dining area and I had tears in my eyes and had to blink multiple times. Just fyi, our table was at the far end from the kitchen. I looked far into the kitchen, they only had one window half opened in the back and all the smoke smell was going into the dining area. All of us felt it but we didn't complain as we were trying our best to enjoy our time out. When we left and stepped into the car, I smelled the smoke on my jacket, on my inside shirt (I had the jacket on the whole time), and smoke all over my hair! As soon as we got home, we had to switch out all the clothes, cooked and ate the ramen, then jumped into shower and tossed all clothes in washer to get rid of the Smokey smell. Omg this place is horribly designed without adequate verification just really bad overall. If you still decide to go after reading this, for whatever reason, just make sure you have a full lunch of the day before dinner, know not to wear nice clothes (as you will need to dry clean them immediately), and understand the time required to circle around small streets endlessly to look for parking. I honestly want to give it 1 star Yelp review out of all the negative, but the additional 1 was for the chef that the food is decent. But again, do not recommend, take your date and celebrate the special moment elsewhere!

The cake was first brought out with a candle, then taken to the back, sliced, and returned piled on top of each other, placed on the table with tongs for us to serve ourselves. For a paid birthday event, this felt careless and unprofessional. There was a clear lack of food and service. The salads and meat were cleared by 10:30 PM, leaving our table bare, and the beef BBQ was so dry I could barely bite into it. We were told to expect a DJ and live music, but there was no DJ. The live music did not even start until 8:30 PM. Between the few live songs, elevator-style background music was played, which you couldn't dance to. Most of the time you were just sitting and waiting for the next song. In total, there were only a handful of songs the entire night, from about 8:30 PM until 11:30 PM. Then all music was completely shut down by 12:00 AM while there were still guests in attendance. This felt extremely unprofessional and cut our celebration short. The alcohol service was handled very poorly as well. I personally supplied the alcohol to the restaurant, yet only two bottles were placed on our table initially. The rest was kept to the side, and throughout the night the men at our table were asking for alcohol and felt they were expected to tip servers just to have their shots refilled. (Over $250 in tips server collected from my guests) This was uncomfortable and completely inappropriate. For the price I paid, the lack of food, lack of service, and especially the poor handling of music and alcohol made this a very poor experience. I even asked the venue employee would music be back on and they said oh yes long as there are guests music doesn't stop! But it clearly did. I would not recommend this venue for an important celebration. Party ended at 12am on a Friday night.

So this past weekend, we decided to try it. Wow. Some of the best ice cream we've ever had. My favorite flavor is the PEANUT BUTTER CHOCOLATE CANDY, followed by the LEMON CURD. My husband loves the CUP O' JOE SPINELLI and the NY STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE. Now every time we're in Montecito, we'll be stopping at Rori's for a scoop or two! Can't wait to try more flavors!

The good: I tried the January flavor of the month (toasted…read morecoconut dark chocolate), toasted honey almond, black pepper pistachio, banana, and a peanut butter chocolate. I liked how they had unlimited toppings for kids. They also had dog friendly treats. There were several outside tables and benches for dining. The service was very quick. The pistachio ice cream tasted like eating straight pistachios and there were plenty of real pistachio chunks. The bad: The interior is tiny and is only for ordering. The texture of the honey ice cream was runnier and had icy chunks. The honey flavor was really strong and tasted like I was eating just pure honey. That sounds nice but it was a bit too much. I wish the texture was a little bit more chewy and the flavor a bit less sweet. I didn't taste the black pepper in the pistachio ice cream. The interesting: They have another location in the Public Market food hall as well.
