I love this place! The office looks clean and maintained, respectful staff, and help work around your schedule as much as possible. Most of my children needed orthodontist support and this is the place. One thing I would ask for safety and sanitation purposes is that gloves and washing your hands be used or done always when handling hardware that is going straight into the patient's mouth. I seen someone blow their nose and did not wash their hands. Even though they put the gloves on, they touched them with their dirty hands. There is also a staff member who touches the hardware without gloves. This incident occurred twice. I've seen all, but this one staff member, change their gloves often. This is not for staff reprimand or bad review, just a reminder that clients are observant. Besides, the mentioned, you have great staff and doctors in this place who care for their patients. Our daughter has a stubborn horizontal impaction, as well as general alignment needs. She has been under Dr. Chen's care for years (it is a REALLY stubborn tooth), and both Dr. Chen and the care team have been amazing throughout. They are all very professional and kind. First of all, I'm going to say that I'm a Dentist and I can attest that Dr. James Chen is a great Doctor and Orthodontist. Dr. James Chen came highly recommended when my younger brother needed braces. He was born with "peg laterals," which is just a fancy word for small teeth (see photo). It was not an easy case from the start, but through proper communication and planning, he achieved the perfect results. Dr. Chen straightened out my brother's teeth, while leaving the perfect space for me to place 4 veneers to achieve the most natural smile. I am actually not even done with my treatment yet, but I felt like I owed him a really amazing review due to the amazing experience so far. I had a consultation with a handful of orthodontists. There were a few who offered to do it for cheaper, but I chose to go with Dr. Chen because he seemed like the person I could trust the most with straightening my teeth. I was right! Dr. Chen has been so dependable throughout the whole process. He is so accessible even though I always feel bad contacting him because I know how busy he is and his office is always buzzing with people nonstop while he has a family/young son. I felt like I had the doctor himself to explain everything to me every step of the way no matter how big or small the question or concern. My journey with Dr Chen has been longer than expected, and I'm almost hesitant to share that fact because it's definitely my fault and I haven't been a model patient and don't want to set a bad example to others (don't be like me). When things weren't going as planned i.e. me delaying actually wearing my Invisalign consistently for months, my teeth not shifting as expected/on schedule, changing my mind to wear traditional braces from Invisalign, delaying the wedding and then changing the plans again and pushing up the elopement date due to covid, a bracket breaking off due to chewing on a big piece of steak, Dr. Chen worked with me through all of it and never made me feel bad/judged and told me he just wanted me to be happy with the experience and results. Some bonuses are 1.) he has the best staff in his office. He really knows how to hire people. Everyone in there is wonderful. So genuinely welcoming and kind and warm. 2.) there are animated films playing on the TV's mounted to the ceilings. They should have this in every dentist office! Super effective in distracting you from people poking and prodding around in your mouth when you feel very vulnerable and often awkward. I'm sooo glad I finally made the decision to invest in straightening my teeth even though I was so hesitant to do so as an adult. My teeth are looking great, and the experience has also been so great because of Dr. Chen. I'm a dental assistant at a pediatric clinic and I can confidently say that the quality of care that I received was very similar to the quality of care we give to our patients in my pediatric clinic. I was first recommended to the Daly orthodontist by my coworkers because they and their children were receiving treatment from Dr. Chen. I hopped onto that train as I trusted my coworkers' opinions and was curious as to why everyone went to Dr. Chen. I soon found out why all my coworkers and their children chose to get their ortho treatment from Dr. Chen and rave about their office. In my first appointment, I received such a warm welcome from Dr. Chen, the front desk staff and the dental assistants. Dr. Chen was also very detailed and informative of my treatment in simple terms that was easy to understand, answered all my technical questions truthfully, gave me a realistic time frame of when I should be done with my braces and was receptive to any ideas I had about how my teeth should look. He is also very chill and easy to talk to and still be professional when he needs to be. The assistants were also more than friendly and accommodating to your needs from assisting you in the chair and adjusting anything in your mouth that doesn't feel comfortable to giving you extra floss threads and rubber bands. I think the best part is that the whole experience felt very personal as Dr. Chen and many of the front desk and assistants do remember me from previous visits. Dr. Chen and the staff really do their best in making sure you have everything you need to get to your end goal and making your ortho experience as easy and comfortable as possible! Even after I was finished with braces and am currently wearing my retainers, Dr. Chen was very open to helping me make any adjustments to my teeth if I saw anything I didn't like. The whole office has iPads and tv's to distract the kids to release the stress and nerves; they also have toys as a reward once you're done. I've been coming here ever since I was a child and I used to hate going to the dentist, but they made it bearable :-) LOL. Dr. Chen definitely deserves his 5-star rating. Over the past couple years, I've really appreciated his willingness to discuss my concerns and adjust the treatment to fit my situation. I put off going to an orthodontist for many years for correction of a cross-bite. I received treatment plans from several other orthodontists. A couple of them told me that braces would be required and most likely a bone graft. Another told me that Invisalign would work. Dr. Chen explained the differences in their approaches and immediately made my decision easier by offering to start with Invisalign first and follow-up with limited braces if I wasn't happy with the result. This same thoughtfulness continued during the treatment. For example, he adjusted my retainer plan to use a combination of traditional and clear retainers to account for my night-time teeth-grinding. In the end, I'm completely happy with the results and feel very fortunate to have found Dr. Chen. read more
