I called today because my son had seen his general dentist on Saturday and was advised to see his orthodontist as soon as possible. He was experiencing significant inflammation caused by a wire that was poking into his mouth. When I explained the situation to the receptionist, I was offered an appointment for the following morning. I explained that my son was leaving for vacation the next day and needed to be seen that same day if possible. Unfortunately, I was told there was nothing that could be done. What was most disappointing was not the lack of availability, but the receptionist's tone and apparent lack of urgency or effort to provide any alternative solutions. Concerned about my son's discomfort, I contacted another Image Orthodontics office in Redwood City. The receptionist there was incredibly understanding and went out of her way to help, even though they do not typically see patients from other offices. Thanks to her assistance, my son was able to be seen and treated promptly. As the attached photos show, the wire had shifted significantly, which was causing the irritation and inflammation. I'm not sure how it happened, but I'm very grateful that the issue was ultimately resolved. While I appreciate the care my son has received, I hope future patients with urgent concerns are met with more empathy, urgency, and willingness to help find a solution. read more

Michelle was the only professional staff at this location, but she has left. Since then, my experience has been disappointing. The front office staff are rude and unhelpful. In addition, the assistants are often rough when working on patient's braces, which makes appointments uncomfortable. Another issue is that the doctor is consistently late, even for the first appointment of the day. This lack of professionalism and consideration for patients' time is frustrating. I'll update this review after they respond to me. Note: This is regarding their pediatric dentistry communication and billing, and not their orthodontic services. Echoing what a previous reviewer stated their non local call center makes contacting them impossible. I intentionally selected this location because Phi Luong for Kali Kids was the nearest in-network pediatric dentist recommended on the Cigna website. I filled out a new patient form on the Kali Kid's website toward the end of Dec 2025, and someone from Image Orthodontics (same facility?) called me the next day scheduling the earliest appointments at the end of March 2026. They requested a copy of my insurance information with an out of state number. I repeatedly asked them to confirm that my Cigna insurance was in network, and one time they confirmed. The dentist and assistants were very polite, and made my children feel comfortable. I didn't have issues with their care, and quality of work. My issue was two weeks ago I received a text from an out of state number stating that I owed $53 or will be reported to collections. I called the office to request a copy of the statement before I paid, and a non local call center picked up stating that they couldn't reach the local office, but would ask them to send it to me. They never did. This morning I received two bills in excess of $200 owed after insurance stating that Yan Kalika Dental Corporation was out of network after I previously confirmed with their office that they were in-network. Speaking with Cigna they stated that it was because the dentist that worked on my children were not in-network. I tried calling their office again for a non local call center to pick up stating that they couldn't reach the office, but would ask them to call me back. I also left an email, and will stop by their office if I don't hear back soon. This is extremely frustrating because I specifically selected this office and confirmed with their team that my Cigna insurance was in-network, and am left with a $200+ bill because I was mislead. I'm waiting to hear back, and may take my business elsewhere based on how difficult it is to reach the office. read more

I'm currently getting clear correct treatment from this clinic. The staff are always nice when I've had to go into the clinic and my orthodontist is very friendly and knowledgeable. I love how straightforward the treatment plan is. The only big issue I have with this clinic is how long it takes to get someone on the phone when you need to contact them. I've called the clinic probably 4-5 times total since I've stated my treatment and every single time I've been on hold for a minimum of 30 minutes before someone answers. I wish they could find a more efficient way to streamline calls coming in since I know there are multiple staff working the reception desk. It's extremely frustrating because not everyone has a spare 30 minutes during the day to be on hold with no call back system. Time is valuable and it seems like the clinic hasn't made any effort to fix this issue for the entire time I've been a customer here. read more

I am not typically someone who complains, but trying to reschedule an appointment here has been far more difficult than it should be. The process feels unnecessarily complicated and the level of customer service has been disappointing. Additional customer service training may be beneficial. I love image orthodontics but lately i found out they recently have a call center which also utilizes ai representative. While i have no problem with companies or clinics using ai representative, but with this recent change its even harder to get to anyone. Like for example, I lost my aligner and wanted to see if I can get a sooner appointment. I couldn't reach out to anyone. And this was a month before the appointment i have already set 4 months ago. Before I can reach the front desk and get my questions answered and not have to keep going on circles with an ai. Another feedback I would like to give is during my appointment today when I said I want to go through refinement, the dental assistant told me to wear my elastics much as possible. Which I understand. For me, it felt like she was trying to discourage me. But she didnt understand my bite was better on the last try, which is the tray that I lost. Which is entirely my fault. And i was using my elastics diligently until i had to go back to my second to the last tray so that I have something to wear in the meantime. I know she meant well but she didnt understand as a patient that my bite was far different and better, and thus, i wanted to go through it. No matter how much i wear elastics it didn't push my teeth the way I want it to be. I also wish the orthodontist asked me first If I was happy with the current state of my teeth but she didn't. read more

This is my second time going for my 15 year old daughter and the front office staff is very nice and welcoming. Terry K. who helped change my daughters wires and rubber bands was sooo helpful and comforting to my daughter. Terry also explains after care very well and she even had such a wonderful idea by having me take pictures after she placed my daughters rubber bands to help us remember! You can tell Terry is very knowledgeable. I totally recommend Image Orthodontic and I also recommend Terry to help with applying bads and wires she is the best !!!! read more

Overbooked. One dentist for a ton of clients. Had an appointment at 9am. On the day of the appointment (40 mins before my appointment) i got an email saying it was switched to 9:10am. Arrived at the dentist office at 8:50am. Waited until 8:35am then got sat, the rubberbands were taken off and the dentist didn't come until around 9:45 am. Then she told the assistant next steps. The assistant was then interrupted by front desk lady who had a question about a client on the phone, and we had to wait while they figured that out again. read more

The manager Sonia reached out to me. Told me they needed to take photos and evaluate them to see if the changes in my smile was aligned with what was describing, before they could make a decision about reimbursement. I told her I was no longer comfortable coming into their office, she suggested a date and assured me that Marina would not be there. I go into the office and Marina is there. She response, "I needed her today." Sonia then immediately states they will likely decline reimbursement and recommended another one of their ortho chains. They haven't looked at my photos yet, I told you I developed problems with my treatment and you're telling me they're just going to continue to take my money? She continues to drive me into their new location and deters me from going with a non-Image ortho office, telling me I would have to pay thousands but at their new office they would start me on a brand new treatment. Reimburse and give me the chance to go somewhere else to fix your mistake. I had already paid $320 to get a consultation with another ortho and she suggested me to get another second opinion. I already paid out of pocket because your ortho gaslit me, your office is refusing to reimburse me before any deliberation and now suggesting me to possibly spend more money to get yet another opinion?? Sonia acknowledges that I appear upset and that maybe seeing Marina brought up previous feelings. You acknowledging having Marina there was a mistake on your end, only furthers evidence that you do not take your patients considerations seriously.
