Loaded potato and fruit smoothie. Friendly, helpful staff serve a variety of stuffed potatoes. Wonderful all around, highly recommended.

Potatoes done right. What a dining experience! Clean, hospitable and the meal was one to remember.

They were so nice and the food was amazing! I have never had a baked potato as good as this. My daughter got the buffalo wings and it had a delicious amount of heat to them.

This is another hidden jewel restaurant in The Texas Hill Country: The Potato Shack in Kingsland. Although it has been around for a few years, it has been at three locations until October 2024, when they moved to their permanent home. Co-owner, Robin, and her husband, who provided great service, have wonderful plans for the future: patio for outdoor seating, great sunset view, expanding to a second level and adding wine and beer as well as a more extensive dinner menu. If in the area, check it out.

Very good sandwiches- we had the French dip and chicken salad. They were both delicious. The bread made them especially good!

Unfortunately, the experience started off a little rough. We waited quite a while to be seated while several staff members walked past us. Eventually, someone asked what we needed, even though the sign clearly said to wait for the hostess. We were told to wait a little longer before finally being seated. Thankfully, our waitress completely turned the experience around. She was friendly, attentive, and efficient. She brought our drinks out quickly, took our order right away, and made us feel welcome. We each ordered two tacos, and they were delicious! They're much bigger than they look, so if you're not very hungry, one taco is probably enough. After our meal, we asked if we could explore the upstairs area, and our server happily said yes and encouraged us to look around the restaurant at all of the unique horror memorabilia and decorations. Overall, I'm glad we made the stop because it was a fun experience and crossed a bucket-list destination off our list. While I'm not sure I'd come back just for the food, I'd definitely recommend visiting if you're a horror fan or passing through the area.

There is a food counter where you order sodas and food and a bar counter where you order all your alcoholic bevs. We've been coming here for years and have tried many things on the menu. We landed on 2-3 fave things we get every time. The order is never incorrect and there are no misses with the meals they turn out. Love their consistency. Recently we were turned on to the shrimp basket...so yummy! The pics of our baskets didn't do the size of the shrimp justice, so had to take one of our take home box. They are HUGE butterflied shrimp with a nice, light batter. Not a fan of their tartar sauce, but other than that, so yummy. My shrimp basket was on a bed of fries and my husband substituted onion rings for his fries. You can sub any sides. It's a hot spot for locals and visitors!

It's got a nice covered patio as well as a good amount of outdoor seating on picnic tables, indoor seating and a good sized bar area. You order at the counter at this place and then grab your food when your buzzer goes off. Pretty standard bar menu. I can't remember the name of the burger I ordered but it had grilled jalapeños and a large onion ring on it. Burger was good sized and decent but my only complaint was it was overcooked. Fries had some kind of seasoning and were really good. Nice combination of atmosphere, convenience, and half way decent food. It's worth stopping in.
