It's a better facility than some. The process is very easy. Make an appointment. If you need weekend service, plan your appointment weeks in advance. Usually you get a confirmation call before your day. Easy drop off, provided you had your vet send over all the required proof of vaccinations. Please be specific in how you want them groomed. Don't cry fault if you didn't tell the groomer first. I've had the fur on ears, bangs and tails trimmed a bit shorter during pick up without a fuss. You get a call that your pet is ready for pick up. Bandanas or bows usually adorn your clean pet. Credit cards or cash accepted. Yelp check-in offer is a nice bonus. Add on toys and treats are for sale in the lobby. I have used the self serve pet washing area in the back. Call ahead to find out what good times are. They really try and deter you from using the area that the groomer needs to wash a clients dog at the same time. Off peak times are best. I found it a good value, and much easier on your back than leaning over a tub or kiddie pool. Harness setup. Shampoo choices. Comfy no slip mat for your pet to stand on. Fluffy clean towels, or blow dry is available. I should use this self serve more often(#Lazy).

During the consultation with their groomer, I made these statements; "I like Higgins looking messy", "I do not want him looking proper", "I do not what any hair cut from his face area". Even after hearing these statements, they completely cut off his eyebrows!!! When asked why they cut off his eyebrows, they indicated that I said that I wanted to see his eyes, which is a complete LIE! I had indicated that it had been a couple months since his last haircut and the groomer reached down for a couple seconds and recommended "trimming his hair down". This meant to me that his hair would be trimmed down to 1/2 to 1" in length, so I agreed. As can be seen in the photo, they trimmed his hair completely down to the skin! When asked why they indicated that they said to me that he had to be shaved completely down ("naked") since it was only his second haircut in a year, which again is a complete LIE! So after 5 years, we had just come to expect Oakley would hate every grooming experience he went through. That was, until his time at Shampoodles. We dropped Oakley off in the morning, and the owner, Jill, came out to get acquainted with him and ask us questions about how we'd like to have him cut, and what he was like. Within those couple of minutes, Jill became his best friend. We left feeling that Oakley was in good hands, but we were curious how he was going to end up on the other side. Because in the past, he'd leave the groomers frightened, shaky, and exhausted. So it was amazing when we picked him up from Shampoodles to see him super playful, hopping all over the place, and full of energy. Hands down, the best groomers we've found in Columbus. I've been a customer here for years, which is why this experience was so disappointing…read more I called ahead of time to cancel an appointment, and at no point was I told there would be a $20 cancellation or "no-show" fee. At my next visit, I was charged $78, which appears to include that $20 fee without any explanation beforehand. When I tried to ask about it, the front desk employee didn't address my concern directly and instead told the owner I was already disputing the charge. This was frustrating, especially since I hadn't even been informed what I was being charged for in the first place. Clear communication and transparency matter, especially with long-time customers. I trusted this business for years, so being treated this way felt dismissive and unprofessional.

To give some context- - my dog hates nail trims where he yelps before you even start. They were able to do all nails - he doesn't mind ears touched but forget about cleaning - usually need 3 people to hold him for anal gland expressions- groomer (Jordan) said he didn't even make a peep Also they don't use muzzles! I love that especially bc my dog isn't trained for muzzles and I wouldn't want him in one just for grooming. Best way to get ahold of them is text message imo. I had some mats in my bum, an overgrown nail or three, and a lot of hair in my ears. Miss Sara was on it and told my mommy I may need an antibiotic. She really looked after me.
