This was my second time visiting the Dead End Hayride and we got the Thursday deal of buy three get one free ticket for general admission! Last time I came here I got the VIP fast pass but we figured we might as well use the deal. It took 45 minutes to get on the hayride but it takes about about an hour to an hour and a half to go through the whole attraction! I enjoyed the hayride then getting the chance to walk through the haunted houses! It's a fun time for a date night or for the family. I wouldn't advise for little kids since it does get pretty scary. I am rating a 4/5 since I wish they had smaller groups go through at a time to help with the jump scares and such but overall good attraction! Plus afterwards you have opportunity to visit some food trucks and get a drink! read more

I went to the dead end hayride with a group of friends and we had a blast! Our tickets were for 8:30 pm, but we ended up going later with most of the group and did not have an issue. I have been going for years and I have to say each year they truly outdo themselves. When I say it's legit I am not exaggerating. If you know you know... the production and realness they add to every element of this hayride! And when I say hayride that's an understatement. Yes part is a hayride and parts are walking through corn fields and busses and dungeons. PSA: they are allowed to touch you! Wow! This place is so fun and there is a lot to do. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. The hayride was so much fun and I would recommend you get the fast pass to skip the lines. They have some food trucks that are very good. Easily one of the best haunted hayride/haunted house experiences I've had. Also, yes it's both. Arriving takes you down a narrow and bumpy frontage road, so take your time. It's like gravel and gets a ton of dust kicked up. The lot itself once there has ample parking so no worries there. Once inside there are numerous food vendors and an over 21 section if you'd like to grab a drink (beer/seltzer) before heading to the line like we did. The line moves pretty well but for standard pass, is long, but nothing out the norm. The ride itself takes about 20 minutes, I won't add spoilers, and it drops you off in the back of the lot area. From there you have a 40-1hr walk back through numerous, high production houses. This place is super well done with worthwhile scares and quality sets and staff. Can't give it enough kudos other than to tell you to check it out yourself! read more

Dead End Hay Ride is worth every penny. **highly recommend the fast pass over general admission. On the night that I went, the VIP tickets weren't necessary. COSTCO IS SELLING DEEPLY DISCOUNTED FAST PASS TIX** The production value of this MASSIVE haunted experience is still blowing my mind. In between my blood curdling screams I would note how completely professional the sets and props were. This farm takes the business of scaring people for a solid hour and a half very seriously. And afterward they entice you with a beer garden (with fire pits and tons of seating) and several dinner and dessert food trucks. You will not regret going. It's worth the drive from the cities. It starts with a 20-minute scary hayride and then continues to keep going with 3+ haunted houses deep in the woods. The company definitely knows how to run an operation with lots of details, performers, and scary effects! I was extremely impressed by how organized everything was and how easy the experience on the attendee. I thought the attraction was very scary throughout the whole time, which can be difficult to do when providing such a long experience! Great food truck options and wide availability for people to attend! This experience is like no other! Definitely worth the price, recommend spending the extra money on an immediate access pass. This has come a long way since it first started years ago when I was a kid! Quality entertainment for sure, great makeup and costumes!. Jump scares are my weakness and I was screaming a lot! I'd recommend fast pass for any times later than the first one. It's still a wait but much more reasonable than waiting in General. It is expensive if you go on peak times and do the fast pass, if you can, go non-peak, I am not sure the cost is worth it to go peak times. Very fun though. read more

Thanks Kara for the scary fun yelp event at Dead End Hayride! We visited on a Sunday night @8pm and with the Fast Pass we walked straight in and were on a hayride within 10 minutes that alone makes it 5 stars nothing kills a good time like standing in line! I would advise the fast pass or VIP because the general admission line was the scariest thing of the night.lol The scale of this huge production is off the charts. There were so many different facets and moving parts and during our time going through it everything was flawless as far as I could see. The props went off at the exact times and actors jumped out and interacted with our group right on cue. The costume actors were great they had tons of energy and it made for a great experience. There's also big area for food/drinks and entertainment. Beer garden, games for kids, music stage and a variety of food and sweets options. Parking was free and very smooth process employees guided you to a spot in the field they used for parking. First things first....GO! This place is soooo fun! It takes about 20 minutes to do the hayride. The hayride drops you off and it takes about 40mins-1hr to get back to the main area where the food is located. We got the immediate access passes....so worth it! Worth it! Without it you stand in line for a long time...but even that would be worth it. We arrived and it was plenty of parking. The gravel road was hella bumpy...but I forgive them. We reserved tickets online and were able to get in the gates quickly. We went straight to the hayride. Short wait with the immediate pass. The hayride was beyond fun. Im scaried easily and it was scary but tolerable. The penitentiary was so amazing! The details were spectacular! You walk through a prison and then it transitions to a graveyard, slaughterhouse and so much more. Honestly it is hard to pull the words...you are just so immersed. I LOVED IT! Glad we had the immediate passes! We went on a Thursday night and it was super busy, a good thing, it is popular! Immediate means immediate. Literally walked right past the lines and right to the scare. I will say I don't get scared super easily, and this held true for this experience. It seemed odd that the people letting us in to each realm let us go so quickly behind the group in front of us and the group behind us was one pace behind us. Walking through the experience with a group of what felt like 20 people wasn't really the best, I wish we would have been able to be a bit more spaced out to have the true suspense and scare instead of seeing someone get scared by the same character right in front of us. Had the chance to go for the first time and holy cow I had so much fun! You Buy or redeem your ticket for a lanyard and pass at the front, then make your way past the concessions to the haunted hayride line. The hayride take you through a myriad if scenes and interactive scare actors and you get dropped off to the haunted house and corn maze, which i did not expect. I loved the seamlessness of the experience, especially with the immediate pass. I had mine for free but I think it would be worth the money and drive when I come back in the future to buy the immediate pass again. There are also a good amount of concessions, including donuts, cider, churros tacos and others, a merch stand, and several photo spots. I thought I was meeting my dead end last Sunday night. Boy was i delightfully terrified, If that's a thing! So happy to have come with the Yelp Elite Squad and get through with the VIP fast pass ticket. The general admission line was super long. Fast pass was 100% worth it. When walking towards the hayride, there were several cool attractions I knew I wanted to stop by before leaving. The funnel cake was a must! They also had a small music stage, bull riding and other games. The hayride itself literally freaked me out. The effects and actors were phenomenal and played their parts in scaring the living daylights out of me incredibly well. Their makeup was also fantastic. Making our way out of their horror filled obstacle course about blew my mind but it was incredibly fun and enjoyable. Very light touches nothing to make you fall over or feel uncomfortable with. They are a well oiled machine, here. The queues are well set up and the workers all know what they're doing. The sets are all incredible and very elaborate! I 100% recommend paying more for the Fast Pass or Immediate Pass. You'll be waiting for hours of your life if you don't opt for one of these options. We were here on a Thursday night and it was pretty busy, but not so packed that you couldn't even get around. However, when going through the houses, they didn't stagger anyone so we walked through the entire experience in one big cattle line with people right behind each other the whole time. Unfortunately, that took away from the experience because it isn't scary when there's thirty people in front of you and thirty behind you all shuffling together. It also felt much brighter in all of the sets than I would've expected which took some scare factor away as well. I believe this would be absolutely horrifying if the group of 4 of us had been going through the houses "alone" and in the darkness. I think they were just having an especially busy, possibly low staffed night that resulted in one big line to walk through the experience. read more

This year was our 2nd annual trip to The Dead End Hayride. This year we checked out a couple of other scare attractions around the cities and this attraction is our favorite. The hayride is about 20 minutes filled with cool scenes, special effects and scarers. Then they drop you off and you walk your way back through spectacular, scary and different themed haunted sets. The special effects that they use are like no other scare attractions around the cities. This year the only downfall was there was a lot of waiting in lines. We got there when it opened, thinking it wouldn't be as busy, it was. There were long lines to start the hayride and then another long line to start the haunted walk back. This is very, very fun! I had seen that a national magazine listed it as one of the top 20 haunted houses in the country, so my friends and I, all of whom prefer to avoid our neighborhoods' children on October 31, decided to check this out instead of indulging pre-adolescent sugar cravings. Our expectations of The Dead End Hayride were met and exceeded! We bought the $25 Fast Pass tickets online, which allowed us to skip past some much longer lines. I strongly recommend this approach! There wasn't much waiting for us. The experience consists of a cool, scary hayride with some excellent scares and fun personalities. Most people will drive here from the Twin Cities, and although it is a long trek, the benefit is that the dark outdoor parts are REALLY dark. And then at the end of the ride, you are treated to a long, elaborate, winding trail through multiple buildings full of well-decorated chambers of horror. Some of it is really impressive with its ingenuity. The whole thing is very, very satisfying; we felt like we really got our money's worth! The area near the entrance is a lively plaza with several food vendors and places to sit. We enjoyed hanging out in a little bonfire area, and we partook of some very serviceable food truck snackage. This was my first haunted hayride/ haunted house ever. My favorite holiday is Halloween and I'm not sure why I've never gone to one. When the opportunity came about to go with yelp free of charge I knew I had to jump on the opportunity. Horror movies are my favorite so I like being scared. Overall I did scream throughout the attractions, however I did expect to be more scared then I was. We had a large group and they kind of shoved us in one right after the other which I think took away from the experience a little bit. I know the attractions are only open for so many hours however i felt like there wasn't enough time for the characters to be able to scare the people in front of us and then us. Also I thought it would be darker then it was. For those two things I took off a star. Overall this is super interactive and fun and a great time. Also on property were lighted porter Potties and places to purchase food and drinks. Hot apple cider was really nice on my throat after screaming. I would recommend coming, we had the fast passes which I think would have been great on a busy night however it wasn't very busy when we went. read more

I have to say this is one of the best haunted situations I have experienced. The whole set up was well throughout, creative, and interactive. There were multiple creepy themes throughout the whole experience, which was nice as you were getting a change in pace and never knew what to expect as you went through. The backdrop to it all was amazing and well crafted, you could tell the owners and staff put a lot of work into giving the best experience to guests. I believe the whole experience once on the hayride was about an hour. I would for sure do this again next year and going forward. Obviously, only if the themes changed. Always be prepared for something to jump out, grab, or touch you. They enjoy interacting with guest and do it very well. Recommendation do yourself a favor and get one of the Vip options (fast pass or immediate access) we did fast pass and waited in line for roughly 20 mins with the 8:30pm Saturday reservation time to start. I would say that the people who paid the immediate access price didn't board any sooner than we did for the most part so paying the high price difference I wouldn't go for. The general line was VERY long and I would not wish it on anyone. There are 3 parts to the whole thing and you will wait in 3 different lines. Once you're on the hayride the next 2 lines go very quickly vip people. Side note , if you're a Costco member or know someone who is purchase your tickets there. They sell the fast pass for cheaper (2021 season we paid $28.50 at Costco). Also, there is plenty of parking however, the lighting is terrible and there are no parking indicators so figure out a way to find your way back to your car! Wow. This is way better than the Soap Factory. I highly recommend this. They sell drinks and snacks. There's Porta Johns for bathroom. You go on a hayride and monsters and creeps hop on it get in your face. There's scary props scattered along the trails. There's a shanty town and tunnels. Then they drop you off and you walk through a haunted hospital. They separated me and my friends. I went through several more haunted houses and walked through a corn field and wooden maze by myself. Actors, props, special effects, sounds are all excellent. I highly recommended the haunted hay ride. read more

I really didn't know what to expect and I won't give anything away because that is truly all the fun. Not knowing what is coming... 14 year old, 55 year old and a 78 year old went to a haunted hayride and ALL of them had a GREAT experience! ( Wish there was a joke but it was ALL AWESOME!) Could not believe the level of quality and effort. SO scary and thrilling for all our ages. We got the Fast Passes that are 3x the regular price but found it worth it. Another year, another fright! We usually visit the DeadEnd Hayride every year and it's always been a fun time. The VIP fast pass tickets are well worth it. On a Sunday evening, there's no wait in that line! Definitely no need for the immediate access. I like that they switch up the haunts over time, but I really wish they would allow you to go through as smaller groups. Even though you wait to enter each attraction, you just end up sandwiched between two groups which takes the fun out of it. If the actors pop out at the group ahead of you, well ok that ruins it for you. Also, they advertised their beer garden. It's not open on Sundays! The sound, the heat, the stages. It was everything. I feel like I was paced through the experience well. If it was darker, it would have crossed the bridge into seriously scary. I will say that having the fast pass could very well be the difference between misery and pleasure. I would recommend to a friend exclusively with the fast pass option. The farm was cute. We did have issue with limited handicapped parking (there were 0 spots left, luckily someone leaving was close enough so we nabbed it). The FastPass is worth EVERY penny extra as the longest we waited was maybe 5 mins. Others were waiting (they claimed) 40+ mins...The ride itself was terrifying and don't even get me started on the haunted houses.
