Finely crafted cocktails and food. I've visited after work for drinks and a Friday lunch. The drink menu boasts a fair range of choices. They serve up classic whiskey or bourbon with proper ice balls until they run out and have a nice selection on beers. The bartenders were friendly as well and willing to explain and elaborate on any drink of choice. For a sit down meal I'd recommend making reservations ahead of time if possible. You seem to get seated sooner. We ordered the honey fried chicken which was really enjoyable. Crunchy batter soaked in honey flavor. It comes with 2 breasts and 2 wings, pickles, and hot sauce. Give the hot sauce drizzled on the wings for extra kick, although it's slightly on the watery side. Also order 2 burgers one with foie gras and the other with bacon. If you're torn I'd go with bacon. The foie gras didn't add as much flavor as I was hoping for and was on the gamey side. You can also get an egg as well. Also the burger is 2 count em 2 patties. The fries were mediocre but did the job as an accompaniment. You can substitute with a salad too. Overall, a well run establishment. I have never had such a reaction to my food before. I ordered the burger and fries and felt like I had transcended into a different dimension. The wait staff are all very kind and helpful with the menu. Every question was expertly answered! The interior is stunning, the menu is short and simple, but the quality is top notch. There are private tables, high tops, booth seating, and an open bar. My husband, son, and I stopped by in the very early evening on Valentine's Day after going to the auto show. We were seated right away in the bar, and everything was wonderful. Husband had the Dearborn Burger, son had the fish and chips, and I had the prosciutto and arugula pizza. We started with the gruyere and prosciutto croquettes served over a shaved Brussels sprouts salad. The combo of the creamy/salty croquettes and the crunchy sprouts with the acid of the vinaigrette was a great combo. Our party of 4 (2 adults and 2 children) arrived at 9:21 pm and were told that we just missed the last call to order. We were turned away. The restaurant obviously doesn't care about its customers! Immediately I was greeted very warmly and seated. The wait staff was very very informative, patient, and friendly. It was my first time here and I really enjoyed it ! We ordered the bone marrow, pork belly, Brussels sprouts, bass, and rabbit pot pie. They were all really good! The bone marrow stood out - a really great appetizer to share. They event gave us more bread when we asked because another person joined our table. All of these items were recommended to us and we were very pleased with our experience! One of us accidentally spilled a glass of wine on the table and within less than a second multiple people were helping us clean it up. Went here for a late dinner. Love the ambience and vibe of the restaurant, dark, moody, with wood detailing. Even at 9pm the restaurant was still quite busy but the space is large so it fits many tables. Staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. Ordered the fried chicken and it was delicious. Also ordered the burger and it was only ok. I did not like the cheese they used on the burger. Once upon a time we loved The Dearborn.... but that tale has come to an end. For quite some time the staff was professional and very competent and the food was great. However, over the past couple years both have declined as people have left and the quality/quantity of the food has slowly decreased. They've even decreased the amount of fries in the fish & chips which is hard to understand because potatoes must be one of the cheapest items a restaurant may serve. See for yourself in the attached photo of the $9 empanadas for which you receive two of the tiniest morsels that I've ever seen, each barely the size of the fork tines, as well as being very sparse on filling and lacking in flavor. I really don't know what they're thinking in serving them and at that price. read more

Menu was good. Ordered fish and chips that supposedly beat Bobby Flay. Umm... how? Texture was great, but just the tiniest bit more greasy than fish and chips normally are. I was just a bit annoyed at the fact she conducted herself like a car salesperson. She really kept persisting for is to order more even though we had more than enough food already. It was kind of comical and very annoying. Anyways we just kind of passed all her recommendations by. And we had more than enough food for two (an appetizer and two entrees). But onto the gooood stuff. The food was so phenomenal there really wasn't anything I didn't love. We did the bone marrow to start and putting everything together made for such a delicious bite. The salad on the side with radishes and a curry-like dressing was also a nice way to cut the fat. We did the burger as well and it was a good burger. The fries, which I usually don't like steak fries, were very tasty. Finally the pork bellyyyy. Cider braised and delicioussss! It had a good sear on the outside and was tender and juicy. Our meal was a little bit overly fatty so if you decide to order marrow and belly together maybe try to get some greens or something as well, ahah. We didn't really consider how heavy the meal was. Our experience definitely could have been better. The fried chicken came out scalding hot with a sweet maple coating that was unappetizing. The airline chicken tasted liked it was quickly heated in the microwave out back and then a handful of raw fava beans were thrown on top. The burger was soggy and the sauce was sub-par. It was all good only except the Foie gras on the top of the French toast. I am not a huge fan of Foie gras but somehow I had it at some famous restaurants such as Jean George, Eleven Madison park etc. in Manhattan. But here, It was the WORST Foie gras in my life. I wanted to have French toast for brunch but they were serving the menu with Foie gras. First, It was very uncooked and even hard to cut. I asked the waiter that Foie gras tastes weird and he said "It's seared Foie gras so may look like uncooked inside." He was kind enough to bring it to kitchen and served it again as well cooked. But still taste was very weird and even the smelled so disgusting. So I couldn't even touch it. Now I am wondering if it was a real Foie gras. Hubby made reservations for dinner here before catching the Saturday evening showing of "Hamilton" for my birthday. We forgot it was the weekend everyone was celebrating St. Patrick's Day. We can never remember if it's the weekend before or after depending on what day the 17th falls. Needless today the place was packed and so lively with a live Irish band playing near the entrance and close to the bar. Despite the crowd, we were seated promptly for our reservation. The seating area is behind the bar and a little quieter but the music was great so we didn't mind how loud it was. I was worried about making the show on time but the staff here are very accustomed to the theater crowd. The service was quick and so friendly, the food came out fast, and we even had time for dessert. The atmosphere was genuinely jolly. Also everyone was behaving themselves so it wasn't rowdy or obnoxious like at the other bars. They had a special St. Patrick's Day menu. Hubby and I split a Scottish Egg...yum. I had a Pork Belly and Truffle dish while Hubby had the Bangers and Mash. Both were so good! The portions were, as Goldilocks would say, "just right" and not too heavy. We had the Fantasy of Chocolate for dessert, a decadent serving of Valrhona chocolate, white chocolate, fudge cake, hazelnuts, and coffee ice cream. All my favorite things packaged together in a dessert fitting for my birthday. I'm excited to come back and try their regular menu like the bone marrow dish or just to eat the Fantasy of Chocolate again, special occasion or not #treatyoself. Just had lunch at the Dearborn. Overall, food was decent, nothing special. I had the Dearborn burger and my partner had the fried chicken. However, the service was horrendous. We asked for a table outside, hostess was great and said they're switching over to dinner right now so it'll be about 25 minutes. We live nearby so we went home real quick and actually got a text our table was ready after 15 min. We hurried back and got sat. Upon sitting, the heater wasn't on so we tried to turn it on with no success. Almost 15 minutes passed and we were greeted, waiter turned on the heater and took our drink orders and left. Didn't ask if we were ready to order or had any questions, just took our drink order and left. Someone came by with water. Then, waited approximately another 15-20 min and drinks were dropped off. Waiter took our order and left. Food came out in about 20 minutes but not brought by our waiter. I asked for mustard-- never got it. Waiter never came by after we got our food. Waiter came when we were almost done eating and asked if my partner wanted another beer, he said yes, approximately 15 min went by no beer. No refill on water. No asking how our food was. He finally brought it out when we finished our food and at this point we were upset with the lack of attention and service. We asked for the bill, the waiter wanted to take credit card inside (but we didn't want to wait another 15-20 min for our bill) so we went in to pay. I could see the waiter chit chatting by the bar the entire time. Even if there is a lack of waiters, there should not be a lack of service. I try to give people benefit of the doubt as I've worked in the restaurant business and especially since it's COVID, but the service we got today was insulting. We saw the food runner more than our waiter. Will not be going back. read more

Unique tasty cocktails! Went here out of convenience then came back the next day for breakfast because we like it so much the night before! They have a beautiful Japanese tea infuser that they use to make herb & fruit infused whiskey and then they use the batch they make the day before in "todays" cocktails - super cool. The Dearborn also serves a special gin that they collaborate with a local distiller to make and I really enjoyed that. They really just had a large selection of spirits to choose from so I think they have something for everyone. The atmosphere is great. Drinks and food was all delish. This place always knocks it out of the park. Went with some friends visiting the other night and had a blast. Started with cocktails and moved over to wine shortly after. We had the meza plate, and WOW the bread was absolutely out of this world. Seriously. I'd go back just for the bread. The dips, dolmas, and garnishes were okay, but couldn't hold a candle to the wood fired grilled pita bread. I had the duck for dinner and it was delicious. Perfectly tender and flavorful. There was a nice apple salad paired with it that was the perfect amount of sweet to compliment the duck without overpowering it. My friends has the burger and the chicken and gnocchi. No complaints on their end. The waitstaff was fantastic as always. Not over attentive, but very in tune with when to stop by and check in. I was also eating alone (in a business trip) and the host sat me in the bar area. My waitress was average. Found a real chill cocktail bar/restaurant here in chi-town. We just came here for drinks and apps which are shown in my pics. I'd say the prices are VERY steep here as a shrimp cocktail app with 5 pieces of shrimp was $24.....the drinks were all about $14 which I didn't mind too much because they were really good but $9 fries and $24 shrimp..... they certainly know how to charge you an arm and a leg for food/drinks I'd say you're definitely paying for the aura and service along with the quality food. Don't get me wrong...the drinks and food were good, just the price that was a bit steep for me. It was pretty busy when I walked in but definitely not my crowd haha. Seemed like this was the spot for those established 40 year olds who all seemed to be in cocktail dresses and fancy suits. I think my friends and I were the youngest ones in there besides these young group of girls who looked as if they were celebrating possibly a birthday? Best service and meal in a long time! Shrimp and Octopus Ceviche was spot on. Fresh, tender, with the perfect citrus bite. The Amish Chicken!!! (Roasted Chicken in a Vietnamese Pho style shiitake broth). Wow! That's is what food should taste like. The thought, time, and effort put into that broth is award winning in my opinion. I don't like to order the same thing twice, but that is a repeatable dish for sure! Sat at the bar. What a pleasure to sit with bar tenders who hone their craft and are down to earth too. Omg...I love this place! I wanted to go a few times before I gave a review. First...the restaurant is nice. Seating is great, tables are large during cam accommodate large parties and has an old school feel. I've only been for lunch. The first time I went, the waiter was awesome. We ordered the Midwest Fried Chicken, truffle fries the Cubano sandwich and a salad. Everything was amazing. Portions were large, price was great. The 2nd time I went we ordered the midwest chicken and fried again because it's just so darn good. We also tried the buttermilk chicken sandwich and burger. Again the food was amazing except for 2 issues...for our chicken, they gave us 4 legs...who wants all legs? That wasn't cool. Then the waitress was overly aggressive and wanted us to order her recommendations. Since we've been a few times, we know what we want. She became a little rude once we continued to explain to her that we were OK with the items we orders. When we tried to order dessert, once again she made a ton of recommendations but we wanted to try the donuts. Well...instead of placing our order, she gave us our bill and didn't even order the donuts as we asked. Not cool at all. I would go again...but hope she isn't our waiter. We picked this restaurant based on the good reviews . It did not disappoint. All of the food was absolutely delicious. The restaurant is large and beautiful in the inside (also have some limited outdoor seating. The service was too notch. They were fully staffed. I've never seen so many staff members rushing around to provide great service. The bar was also beautiful and had a great selection.
