Dental House I was a new patient at Dental House back in the summer of 2022 with Dr. Tiffany Paiva. I neglected my teeth during the pandemic and needed a lot of deep cleaning and work done - including a crown. After my initial check up, X-rays, and deep cleaning Dr. Paiva and I discussed steps going forward. I explained my lifestyle which involves a 100% travel job - currently working in NYC the majority of my time. I'm only home in Austin every other weekend. Since offices are open weekends, I always have to make way advanced flight reservations to be available on a weekday in Austin. In order to best approach my dental care, I asked Dr. Paiva for the office to provide a list of all necessary procedures, ranked in priority, so that I could take care of them piece meal. And hopefully get everything done within a few months. This also was a sizable total cost, even after insurance, and easier for me to pay in smaller chunks. Dr. Paiva continued to insist I take care of everything in as soon as possible - within a couple weeks. She refused to listen to me that this request was impossible, mostly because of my out of state work; I already had my flights booked a month in advance. I had to repeat myself at least 4 times on why this would not work. Dr. Paiva's response to me was "It sounds to me that what you're saying is that your work is more important than your health". How dare she! I've never been so disrespected by a health provider. Even though I had one more follow up appointment, I knew in that moment I would not be going back to Dr. Paiva again. The Dental office did, however, draw up a list of procedures ranked in priority, like I had asked. My overall assessment: the office is nice, friendly and respectable, along with using equipment that appears to be top notch. Dr. Paiva is knowledgeable and "generally" friendly. But she demonstrated complete disregard for my circumstance and outright disrespected me in the most infuriating way. For this reason I will never step foot in her office again. Since then, I have switched to another nearby, respectful dentist. read more

Talk about over inflating things. We are very particular about our dental health but Dr Tiffany definitely makes everything seem like an apocalypse. And then had the gall to turn around and ask if we were thrilled about it. Like genuinely. I can't even... talk about trying to squeeze as much as she can from insurance. To be told you need everything and more under the sun and to be sent to different specialists as well. I can smell a scheme when I see one. Save your time and go to a calmer, more reasonable dentist. read more

The fact that Dr Tiffany Paiva still has her dental license is a true shock and a disservice to the many respectable dentists in Austin. Not only is she rude but she is incompetent after suggesting SEVERAL procedures I thankfully went to another dentist for a second opinion who couldn't believe the diagnosis Paiva had made and told me to report her immediately. Do not let her come near you - especially with medical tools. read more

I had a bad experience here. Would not recommend them. The doctor is preoccupied while doing the dental work and the results are bad. Went to another dentist and they said the original doctor should never have done a new crown on it. She wanted me to have a second crown put on so that would have been a total waste of time and pain. Went to an Endodontist, and he agreed that the new crown should have never been done as there was an obvious crack going down my tooth and root. I was then sent to an oral surgeon and he said the only thing that could be done for the tooth to be extracted and have an implant put in. My conclusion is that the doctor at the Dental House did not have adequate x ray equipment to see the crack in the tooth which led to unneeded pain, time, and money. read more

The Dental House is fantastic. Everything from the front desk ladies to Dr. Paiva. Everything was explained to me in detail, I feel like I learned more in one appointment than I have after years and years of cleanings. I just had a cleaning done, however I was completely impressed and will be going back for sure. The professionalism, yet genuine thoughtfulness at the Dental House was beyond my expectations. Highly recommend! The most fun and relaxing dentist I've been to. Super friendly staff, stylish decor, very modern-looking equipment, even a TV you can watch while laying down. I especially appreciated how they used the monitors to show me exactly how my teeth are and what problem areas there are to address. Do not go there. I went in and was told that I was defensive, I have periodontal disease; even tho I was going to another dentist last 5 years for regular cleanings, (which I have since learned I did not have periodontal disease!)I informed I needed three crowns and have 2 cavities. After our discussion, there's only enough time to have half my teeth deep cleaned. When I came back for the other half they ambushed me by saying, " so are we gonna do three crowns and two cavities while we do the other half of deep cleaning due to dentist stating I have periodontal disease....WHICH I DID NOT!I was shaking , I should've walked out I agreed to one crown on the same side of the cleaning and cavity. I had to come back for 2 readjustment's with the new crown which they smoothed out so much my teeth to no longer meet. Now I clench my jaws. I have been in achy pain. I have gone back for a second opinion. I went back to a dentist that I had gone to for five years prior regularly for my teeth cleanings. I was reassured that I had no periodontal disease. I do not need three crowns, and they did not see another cavity. They did not even charge me, and they do not even carry my insurance .But the dental house spent all $1500 of my allow spending for dental care plus an additional 700+ dollars. The dental house was very aggressive in their approach. If you value your teeth, your ethics, you will not go to this office they will take all the money that you have and afterwards you're left with discomfort and misaligned mouth. Horrible practice! Dr. Tiffany Paiva is rude and doesn't care about patients. She told me (a 47 year) old woman I don't know how to floss. Obviously I'm there since she told me she could take care of my periodental needs. If you are insulting your clients, then study their history before you Ching, Ching, your pocket book! She charged my insurance $800 in October for a cleaning. She is condescending and only wants to tell you all the issues you have to make money. She's immature and not professional! Worst dental experience ever! She didn't even do the cleaning after I took off from work! read more

The Dental House team and Dr. Paiva are amazing! I went through many procedures throughout this past summer, and they were there every step of the way. They really care for their patients and know the importance of creating a personal bond with them. Many decisions had to be made regarding my dental issues and I always had full confidence Dr. Paiva was steering me in the right direction, and she would always listen to any concerns I may have had. As one that works in the architectural industry, attention to detail and quality of work is important to me, and Paiva shares this similar interest 100%. The office is well designed, and the quality of environment is top notch, never feels too overbearing and this may sound silly, but is sort of fun.... I know, crazy to say about a dentist office. Dr. Paiva is the best! I was very fearful of visiting a dentist (it's been six years since I last stepped into an office prior to Dr. Paiva) and it led to a lot of damage in my teeth. Which ofc made me even more nervous of the amount of cleaning that would have to be done in order to get my dental hygiene back on track. My co worker recommended her office to me and I finally mustered the courage to make an appointment. Dr. Paiva is friendly, empathetic and highly skilled at her job. Her staff is the same as well. It astounded me that I felt none of the shots injected in my gums prior to my cleaning and I liked that she talked to me throughout the anesthesia process to keep my mind off of things as well as walked me through the process so nothing would surprise/scare me. Krystal did an amazing job explaining what work needed to be done on my teeth and why and also did really great with my deep cleaning. I was very disappointed with my experience at the Dental House. I went in for a routine teeth cleaning and was told that I needed some major work done. I've always been very good about going to the dentist and have never needed any major work so I found it a little off. They gave me a treatment plan quoting upwards of $500 so I decided to get two second opinions in which both dentist said I didn't need any of the work quoted. read more

I loved my previous dentist so when I moved I wasn't sure who I'd find to top them. Dental House wins! The friendly all-female staff made me feel very welcome, offered beverages and gave a tour of their clean, open, modern offices. My new-patient check-in was quick and painless on an i-pad (I opted for the Oral ID screening to check for anything concerning or pre-cancerous in your mouth bc I'm paranoid and quit smoking in January). Dr. Paiva was super personable. "Doc" sat down with me to review Alicia's x-rays and images of my teeth, explaining things to keep an eye on and answering my questions patiently and in layman's terms. Then I was treated to a nice warm neck pillow and Netflix for the cleaning haha Shayla is a STELLAR hygienist (she's only in a couple days of the week, so try to book when she's there). She was very warm and professional, explaining everything before starting. Shayla went above and beyond, checking that noises weren't annoying and I was absolutely comfortable from beginning to end. We ended with a laser cleaning that I've never had before. I was a little nervous but honestly it was nothing, like the most gentle deep cleaning ever. This was possibly the most pleasant, painless, comprehensive dental visit, and I've had regular check-ups my entire life. Genuinely the most unprofessional dentist office I have ever walked into. I loved Westlake Dental Studio which had a different owner before changing into the "The Dental House". The day I walked in, the dentist literally told me she was too distracted and tired to work on fillings, and then proceeded to ask me on my way out if I still wanted them. On top of that, the dentist and her assistants were on their phones while in the room with me, chatting about random stuff other than my teeth and what I needed to get done. It was truly a bizarre experience. I quickly changed dentists thereafter, especially since the new practice is out of network. I would recommend finding a practice that has been around for awhile, with reputable employees. read more

Had an absolutely terrible experience here and strongly discourage anyone from going here. The first time I went in they said I needed 4 fillings despite just having seen a different dentist a few months prior with no issues. Okay fine, but that's odd. I went in for a routine cleaning 6 months later and the hygienist accused me in a snotty and scolding tone - "OK, did you stop brushing your teeth or what?" (meanwhile I brush with a Sonicare and floss 1-2x a day - went 5 years without a single cavity) and said I would need at least 2 fillings. Pavia came in, glanced at my teeth and added 2 more teeth to the list, because cavities. No x-rays. No visual. No discomfort on my end either, just accusations of lazy hygiene, delivered aggressively. They ushered me into a plan and tried to get me on the books asap. Pavia encouraged me to get the work done ASAP. They persisted and emailed and called to try and book it. Totally confused about the notion of needing 8 fillings in a single year, I held off to get a 2nd opinion, and sure glad that I did. After four different types of x-rays at a different dentist, I have zero cavities, and *no work was needed whatsoever.* Beware. This is the type of dishonest dental office you hear stories about, and I wonder how many unsuspecting folks they are taking advantage of. Just make sure you aren't one of them. read more

I've never had a dentist care so much about the work they do. She's always learning new techniques to make my experience better. Every treatment I have had has been extremely comfortable.
