I started coming here when I first moved to Austin in 2012 and Dr Eslami has been amazing. Had a really negative experience as a kid with a dentist, who was putting fillings into healthy teeth, so I've always had extreme anxiety with drilling. Dr Eslami was super kind and understanding and found ways to make sure I was relaxed for all my treatments that required drilling. I just called because a super old crown popped off and Hillary and Evelyn were super nice and were able to get me in quickly, even though January is their busiest month. I have been going to Dr Eslami since moving to Austin about 5 years ago. She and her staff are ALWAYS helpful, gentle and friendly! So much so that my son (now 13) also goes, feels at ease there & is never scared to go. She had to refer me to an oral surgeon for an implant (Dr Horne) and he, too, is amazing. When I started going to Dr. Eslami, I hadn't had dental insurance in a few years, so my teeth and gums were not in the best shape. Now, after going to her for a couple years, my choppers are in tip-top. Dr. Eslami is a wonderful dentist. She has never made me feel bad about my teeth. She's just nice and encouraging as are the hygienists and assistants. Dr. Eslami has done several replacement fillings and crowns for me. These are never pleasant but they do their best to make these as quick and painless as possible. One of the assistants even holds my hand during the really painful parts and tells me how long each part is going to take so I can mentally prepare for the pain. So sweet. Due to the health concerns regarding amalgam, Dr. Eslami doesn't do amalgam crowns or fillings at all I think. So, if you need something done cheap, this is not the place. The cost of having less mercury in my mouth is worth it to me. Dr. Eslami even humors me regarding the cost and timing for procedures. She'll say, "We may want to keep an eye on this one" and I say, "Will it hold until next year? I'm all out of FSA funds until January." The staff has been equally helpful in convincing my insurance company to pay for the porcelain or gold crowns. I've still had to pay out of pocket for a good amount, but it feels really good to know that my teeth are well taken care of. I may even consider getting other cosmetic dentistry down the road: Invisilign or Veneers, which they offer at DDD also. The hygienist is also so sweet and sadly, now that my teeth are in better shape, we spend less and less time together. read more

I've been going to Dr. Negar Eslami for about two years now and been generally very happy. I can usually get an appointment within two or three weeks of when I call. The staff is very courteous calling, and mailing to follow up before every appointment. The pressure to get the extra full mouth blue laser cleansing or whatever it is they're selling gets a little tedious ( and after doing some research on the side I found it probably not necessary ). They have taken my insurance without incident and everything has gone well so far. I should say I've only had teeth cleanings here although I hear they do whitening as well. On a side note the dental hygienists are pretty cute. They're very skilled also. Oh yeah, and they have massaging chairs. read more

After several years of eschewing dentistry, I stumbled into Dr. Eslami's office in a very cowardly fashion. I have since been entirely won over by her endlessly cheerful staff and Dr. Eslami's calm demeanor, which always takes my apprehension off guard. Her office staff is transparent regarding billing and spends a good deal of effort making sure that I am well-prepared and comfortable on each return. They have each variously supplied me with comforting words and chapstick. Dr. Eslami is the first dentist I have ever looked forward to seeing. I cannot recommend her more highly. I needed a new dentist and asked 5 friends in Austin for a recommendation. They all recommended the same spot! This one. So I just went for my first appointment this week. It felt like I was at a spa in Europe. Beautifully decorated. Friendly staff. They had prepared all my documents ahead of time. Only asked me to fill out the minimal forms. Very friendly staff. Easy to park. Near downtown. Uses all the latest technology for X-rays and cleaning. Finally a dentist I love going to! If you are looking for a great dentist, go nowhere else. read more

I went here on a recommendation and I have been nothing but pleased every time. They are fast, friendly, and professional. I went and got multiple very old fillings redone and, although I'll probably never necessarily ENJOY going to the dentist, Dr. Eslami always made sure I was as comfortable as possible. I am never one to write a bad revue but my last encounter with DDD left such a bad taste in my mouth (pun unintended), that i had to speak up. I had an app scheduled on a Monday that they had sent an email to confirm on Thursday and a phone call on Friday. I however, did not receive either until Friday evening and although I responded, letting them know I was unable to make and would need to reschedule, it wasn't during business hours. Not ideally my style but I had pressing matters that conflicted with the app. Skip to Monday morning where I got a message from the receptionist letting me know that she was a little disappointed that i wasn't going to make it in and that they now had this opening that were going to be unable to fill. I, of course, felt bad and returned the call to apologize. Let me say that I have never been so mistreated by someone on the phone the way I was by Hilary. She was so unbelievably rude and had no tact at all. I cannot believe that they would allow a woman like that to interact with patients. She told me that she "had a feeling about me" like I'm some sort of riffraff and started chastising me for the way that I cancelled the appointment. After I pointed out to her how the way she was speaking to me was very inappropriate, she told me that I needed to find another dentist. WHAT!??! I work in the customer service and I would never, and I mean never, talk to my customers that way. What I really think it boils down to is that I don't fall in the income bracket of their average patient at DDD and they were just trying to weed me out. read more

Well where to start. I've never been one to enjoy going to the dentist, but Dr. Eslami changed all of that. First off, there is free parking! Great when you're in a rush to find it. When you walk in I can't help but feel comfortable. It's modern and SOOO clean. The staff is always very friendly and fun. Starting with my first cleaning, I left feeling great! My hygienist did an amazing job. She was very informative and answered any questions I had. Im a sugar lover and hadn't had a regular dentist in a while. Needless to say, I had some work that needed to be done. After my exam was complete Dr. Eslami broke everything down and we figured what was the best plan for me to take next. I wasn't pressured to do anything that wasn't necessary. You are reminded of your appointment with a friendly email, text, and phone call. I'm so happy I have Dr. Eslami as a dentist. Both her and her staff are wonderful people who I feel, honestly have the patients best interest at heart. I have found my forever dentist! Highly recommend. read more

I went to Dr. Eslami for about 2 years, and during that time I had a couple of onlays and a crown done. I have had numerous issues with this work. My crown broke after about a year. Of course this means that I have to pay for the replacement, since insurance will not cover the same tooth again. And, no I wasn't chewing on rocks. I think I was eating ramen noodles at the time. Also, I constantly got food stuck in between my teeth. Lab work takes FOREVER. I usually had a temp in for about a month. You have to be very careful with a temp, since they can fall out and be painful. My appointments were always staggered, so even after I was unhappy with the work I felt compelled to continue seeing her. I'd have one permanent filling replaced and a new temp put in at the same appointment. It was a never ending cycle. When my crown broke, I called to tell them I needed to come in. Since it didnt hurt, I was ok with the fact that my appointment was not for a month. When I went in, I expected to get my tooth fixed. But no. The appointment lasted for 5 minutes. She looked at my tooth and said, yup it's broken. We'll have to make an appointment to get it fixed. UH, I told you it was broken when I called. I thought THIS appointment was to fixed it. Then she had the nerve to charge me $28 for the appointment. Then, when the new crown FINALLY came in, about 3-4 months after it had broken, her assistant pulled off the temp without numbing me first. Yes, this actually happened. You can't make this stuff up. She did numb me after, so clearly she realized my nerves were exposed. Finally, I find the way Dr Eslami talks to her assistant while working on my teeth highly unprofessional. She talks about her cat and her kid and her husband and what inane things she did over the weekend. I wish she would concentrate while wielding sharp objects in my mouth. I have since changed dentists. It has been over a year since I've switched, so this review was not written while I was totally pissed. I have paid the price for shoddy dental work, and I hope to spare others from the same result. read more

Decent service. I do think they might be pushing more expensive options like porcelain crowns when there might be more economical options. Dr. Eslami is fabulous! She has a great manner and keeps up to date with the latest technologies. I have to admit that I am a complete sucker for the massage chairs and sirius radio. I love that I can get in out of her office quickly. She is located right off mopac at 6th street and her office has a free parking garage. I went to the same dentist from age 2 to 20. When I made the final move to Austin, I have struggled to find a dentist that I can entrust with my teeth. I was so happy to find Dr. Negar Eslami when she worked at Rose Dental Group a few years back. When she left Rose, I was happy to follow her. The entire team at Downtown Dental Design is extremely professional and courteous. Her office is convenient to get to and parking is free, which is awesome especially when you work downtown. I never worry about missing my appointment because they send me a postcard reminder and do a follow up call. Plus, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the massaging exam chairs. We have all heard the saying; 'You get what you pay for'. I have been to see Dr. Negar Eslami four times over the last three months to have some 'catch up' work done and can honestly say that I am more impressed with the level of professionalism at this practice than any other I have attended in my life. I'm 41 years old. 'Hilary' is who's friendly voice you will hear when you call in to set up your appointment. She will also be the person who calls you a couple of days prior to your appointment, and if you don't pick up, (like me), she will send you a friendly email to remind you, and to confirm all is well. She'll probably call you again on the day, just in case. What I like most of all however is the 'service'. Over the three times I have visited Dr. Eslami, I have probably spent a total of 5-8 minutes in the 'waiting' room. Five of those were because I had to finish a business phone call. You walk in, they're ready, and they know who you are. I felt like the whole place stopped just to welcome me. Up until my first visit, I had NEVER experienced painless dentistry. I had always dreaded going, and my teeth used to reflect that. Dr. Eslami has transformed my old cracked metal filled teeth into brand new looking 'film star' quality choppers...and to this day, PAINLESSLY. I recommend Downtown Dental Design 100% Go! read more

Just had 3 fillings done here in the last few weeks and had an exam/cleaning before that. What a super dentist! Dr. Eslami is very nice, extremely professional, and the entire staff seem like a real team. Everyone is very polits, apts were timely, and most of all both she and her assistant(s) were extremely attentive during all dental work regarding pain and making sure I was comfortable. I would strongly recommend this dentist to anyone looking for great service, and excellent dental work without being overdiagnosed, overtreated, or overcharged. Excellent service from the ladies at DDD. On a short visit to Austin, I had a broken tooth and they managed to fit me in at short notice and make the necessary repair. I am changing my opinion about this place. I was asked by the dentist to replace one of my crown. It took them close to 2 hours to get the mold for temp because the tech had to do it 3 times because every time she got the mold done she broke it and had to go through the whole process again. I thought I got through the touch part but them on the day I was supposed to get my permanent crown fitted I arrive on time only to be told that the crown did not arrive and I will have to come back later to get it fixed. I was mad at this point. I leave and then come back 2 days later and the doctor is trying to get the permanent crown and it breaks in her hand into 2 pieces. They ordered a new crown again and I had to come back again to get it fitted. If it can break in her hand I can only wonder how long it is going to last in my mouth. I am never going back to this place again. read more

Long story short, I quit going to Dr. Eslami because two of her dental hygienist were very rude to me. It wasn't even because Dr Eslami said I needed 2 root canals, 4 fillings, and even jaw surgery. After switching dentists and having two X-rays, my new dentist has confirmed that I do not need any dental work at all. I strongly recommend getting a second opinion if she says you need any work. Joanna B needs to calm down. It's unfortunate that you and your co-worker had negative experiences there, but it's not the norm. They have always told me how much things will cost and I too have had some lengthy work done w/o issues. I've been going here for about 3 yrs. now and almost my entire office AND their families go here now b/c I keep referring! The referrals have branched out bigtime even beyond me. They are always very thorough and Katie rules! Their former dental hyg. (no names mentioned) was NOT that great, but she is now gone w/ the wind. She was very sweet, but scared of her own shadow and apologizing every 2 seconds if she thought she hurt you during a cl eaning (which she sometimes did). All of this has been corrected in their hiring Katie who took the time to explain to me the entire process of gingivitis, gum disease, etc. She's turned me into a flossing freak and I'm thankful for it! I have never had their other dental hyg. so I am not saying she's not fabulous, I just don't know yet! read more

This is the most beautiful, brand new, modern and updated dental office I have ever seen. It puts all the 80's (or worse, 60's) style dental offices to shame. I went for the first time for a routine cleaning, at the recommendation of a friend, and did not experience any service issues. Everyone is very friendly, the dentist included. I'm sorry some people had bad experiences but I give it 5 stars based on my first visit. It is very hard to find a good dentist with a professional approach. I only have had the very best of impressions here, so far so good. Most impressive of all, I scrutinized the dental instruments and they were brand new and sparkling clean. Amazing. There isn't even a speck of dust on the overhead lamps. UPDATE: four years later, I still give it 5 stars. I especially appreciate that they never upsell you on services you do not need, unlike some dishonest dentists I've had in the past. read more

I went to see Dr Eslami for one tooth problem and she found more then four problem, but the one is really disappointment was the old crown. She said you old crown is bed and need to be replace it with the new one, which is I did not have any problem with the old crown, but I thought she cares about my tooth, but that was not the true, she just want to take your hard working money and reach her monthly bill. Any way took her almost one hour to pull out the old crown and she said oh I cannot put the new crown on because your tooth is cracked and need to be pull out and some many things she said to me, but my mind was not with her, because nothing was wrong with the old crown and she fool me by her statement that the old crown is not good any more and need to be replace with the new one. I will never go back to this place except the hygienist she is the best, but I will never let Dr. Eslami get close to me and take look at my tooth. read more
