What happened to us was truly devastating, and I wouldn't want anyone else to go through the same thing. A few years ago, we moved overseas for work and needed a long-term storage solution for our home belongings -- including family heirlooms and furniture passed down for generations. After speaking with a GoMini's sales rep who assured us our unit would be stored indoors in a protected warehouse, we decided to trust them. That assurance was everything to us. We used their recommended moving company, and the process went smoothly. Our unit was picked up, and we left feeling confident our belongings were safe. ________________________________________ The Devastating Discovery Fast forward about 3 1/2 years -- we moved back to the U.S., excited to reunite with our belongings. GoMini's delivered our unit as scheduled, but the moment we opened the doors, we were hit with an overwhelming smell of mold. Inside, we found severe water and mold damage on nearly everything. It was gut-wrenching. We immediately called GoMini's. Hours later, a regional manager returned our call and revealed something we could hardly believe -- during our time overseas, GoMini's had been sold and our unit had been moved outdoors, completely exposed to the elements. We were never notified of this change. Had we known, we never would have agreed to it. We sent photos and begged for help, explaining that my wife was nine months pregnant and we were now dealing with a potential health hazard. Despite repeated calls and messages, the manager never contacted us again. ________________________________________ What We Found Next Was Even Worse When our movers arrived the next morning, we saw that almost every single item was heavily damaged or destroyed. We had to stop unloading because the mold made it unsafe. We took photos and continued reaching out to GoMini's for help. After escalating to several managers, we were told the company would not accept responsibility, citing a liability waiver we don't recall ever seeing or signing. We hired ServPro to inspect the damage and invited GoMini's to attend -- no one showed up. ServPro confirmed the entire unit was contaminated with mold and found a hole in the roof and a damaged corner where daylight was visible -- clear signs that water had entered the container over time. We sent all of this evidence to GoMini's, but once again, they refused to help or even acknowledge any responsibility. ________________________________________ Final Thoughts This experience has been emotionally devastating. We lost irreplaceable family heirlooms, furniture, and memories we worked our whole lives for. I am posting several pictures of our damaged contents and unit so that you can see and ask for yourself if you would like to trust your own belongings, that I have no doubt you have worked extremely hard for and have deep sentimental value for, just as we had for our items.

We had filled the container with furniture from our sold house and waited to have our new home built. They held my furniture for about 7 months. They delivered the container on the day I requested but I was so disappointed to see the condition if my furniture. There was mold, dust, rat droppings and bugs all over my furniture. The wooden pieces from Bassett have splintered and peeled. I do believe they mentioned that they place containers in a warehouse that is protected by the elements. Nope! This looks like it was stored outside with heat and humidity, allowing for mold and bugs to grow! Now, I cannot get them to come pick up this empty container because they are "too busy". I have the HOA breathing down my neck to get this removed because it is such an eye sore. It's been a whole week since I asked them to remove the empty container. Last week they told me it probably wouldn't be until this Monday or Tuesday for pick up. I called this morning to follow up on the pick up and now I'm being told maybe not until Friday. This means I will have had this container for 14 days in my driveway! This is unacceptable because it seems like they will only pick it up "if they're in the area".

She had many heavy larger items to move as well as her kitchen supplies and other smaller items which we boxed up ourselves to save labor and boxing costs. We got in touch with other companies but decided to use Kerb movers since they seemed to be very professional over the phone and their minimum was also reasonable. They came to her door step and moved everything with grace and care. Their team wrapped everything up to have preventable damage and was also delivered in the same manner as well as being on schedule. Everything went well according to plan and I would certainly recommend them as well!

There were four sets of screws to her headboard and the movers only installed two sets back onto bed. This in return has caused the headboard to be very shaky and caused me to go out in purchased and install more screw's. The bed is less than a year old so it was perfect before you guys moved us. Paying over 400 for a two bedroom I would not expect those type of mistakes. Out of the three guys that showed up only one appeared professional and experienced. After moving out found rat poop in two of the three storage units. Rat nest in my shoebox for which I had to purchase all new shoes. And then since I returned the locks 2 Days later because Sunday they were not open they said they could no longer prorate. Read the fine print and don't store anything here that you don't want pooped on.

As with all container companies, the advertised price is for a 20' beater, you need to call them for other prices. A few other companies I called advertised containers for $1400 but they only have a few or none at that price and the next best thing is double the price, the old bait-and-switch. At Finn they actually had a decent selection , even a wind & watertight 40' at their advertised price.
