This place is not bad, and not good either. Bathroom doesn't have ventilation. The rooms were decent but the walls are thin. You can hear the freeway and the people on the other side of your room. They have no microwave inside your room but they have it in the lobby. They have a small fridge. The view from the window is nice at night. read more

hello I'm sorry to say but I had a very terrible experience at this hotel. I stay at a bonvoy related hotel a 1-2 nights per month. this time I decided not to stay at my usual location (mission valley courtyards) thinking I'd splurge a bit on a nicer hotel. I chose this one. when I arrived I was disappointed to learn that valet was $50! and there was no self parking at all. forcing me to park in a wide open lot in the middle of a sketchy part of town. when checking in I'm told that the king room I booked was not available and was given double queen. when I got to the room I was let down even further. very loud AC unit with mold growing on it, torn chairs, filthy shower and not to mention a terrible view of the freeway. in the morning I came down for the very mediocre breakfast that was being served. knowing it wasn't included in my room I proceeded to make a plate and planned to charge it to my room. when the bill came it was for $30!! this is extremely overpriced. I could imagine paying maybe $12 for low quality breakfast like this, if at all! I will not be staying here again. read more

It's 10:15 am on 9/19 at the Southwest Terminal. I texted for my car and shuttle at 9:11 am and got a confirmation that my car would be ready and a shuttle was on the way. Two calls and 64 minutes later the shuttle arrived. This seems to be the norm for this hotel. I won't use them again. read more

I book a room with sheraton a month ago, and they decided to cancel my reservation the day of just a few hours before my arrival. I called to see if they could fix this matter and they said they couldn't and would have to rebook online at a higher rate. Not only is their customer service trash, but when I did drive by the hotel it was not what you call it sheraton. Not kepted up, was dirty and homeless people everywhere. I guess it was a blessing that they cancel my reservation. Just some advice If you do decide to here, check your emails before going the day of in the Morning. Didn't get a call just a email saying the cancel my reservation due to credit card issue and there was nothing wrong with my credit card, either!!!! Trash service. read more

Worst hotel experience ever! Booked a king size room and at check-in they only had a full size bed. Since it was 8 pm and I was tired I said, "fine as long as it's a quiet room. I am a light sleeper." I show up and it's right across from the elevator and I am right about the front door entrance. I called the front desk to move rooms and they said they didn't have any other options. It was the worst night sleep. My room was also a handicap room with no door lock from the inside. The best was hard and the room was incredibly small. They didn't even have a couch. read more

This has to be one of the worst hotel I've ever stayed in on business travel. Someone in the office booked it for me and when I saw it from the road I got a sinking feeling in my stomach. It's even worse when you check-in, my air-conditioning doesn't work instead of give me another room they said that since I want to fix it, I've been waiting 30 minutes and no one has come. Old, dingy, in a really bad part of town, this is not the place to stay unless you are leaving the next morning on a cruise ship as a stowaway .....updated, they moved me to a suite do you do platinum status and the older part of the hotel is actually quite nice. From the outside this does not embody the Four Points by Sheraton name. However, they are currently working on the interior with some mass renovations some more noticeable than others but they are going in the right direction. Our room was larger than expected with the standard things. The location isn't bad if you don't mind walking. Is it after all San Diego. Out room was on the 11th floor and faced downtown so not too shabby. Steve, the hotel manager was exceptional! The second day after doing touristy things upon returning we were given coin chips for complementary beers. Yes please. I was able to sit in the mini restaurant (fryers, grill and two kegs beers on tap) and get some work down with the free wi-fi and have an adult beverage. Their gym is limited, treadmill, bike and a few benches and a pool as well. Under the comments section when booking my hotel months in advance I asked for a plate of skittles separated by color after seeing something similar on reddit months before. Not only did I have my skittles but also a wonderful hand written note from the front desk. Way to go above and beyond! read more

I recently stayed here after purchasing a Groupon, the check in process was fast and easy and we got free parking. This hotel was amazing value for what I paid (under $100) we stayed in a king size room and it was on the 3rd floor. Thee absolute worst hotel stay ever!!!! We entered our room on Monday night to find a dusty dirty room with old worn linen. Down comforters are old, worn and torn with lumps and bumps of what used to be be the filling. We felt with it for the first night since it was late and I had called the front desk multiple times with no response. We could not sleep due to staff opening and closing doors, cleaning late night after 10pm with laundry shoot being used and staff talking loudly. On Tuesday I called the front desk again and asked for new comforters. They sent up mattress toppers!!!! I called again and requested they bring up the correct items, 2 hours later after speaking with Ali, she laughed and said oh I'll send and nothing being brought up I called for a third time and spoke with Billy. She brought the correct items up. On Wednesday after asking for room service we returned to find the same old worn out comforters. I called the front desk with no response. I found an employee Sergio, from housekeeping and asked him to have the comforters replaced after showing him the poor quality and how uncomfortable they were. When the comforters were delivered each time they were brought bunched/shoved up in a trash bags, just like the mattress toppers and all linen. Thursday I called the front desk to request towels but they never answered. Friday I called to request the floors to be cleaned and have fresh towels, they stated they could not do same day housekeeping. Saturday, I called again to confirm housekeeping they stated again it could not be done same day, I spoke with Ali again, when I returned to the room the room was not cleaned. I called and spoke with Sophia. She proceeded to argue that her general manager Nadia had cleaned the room herself. I sent photos to their email to show our room had not been cleaned and no clean towels had been delivered. The furniture is falling apart the closet door was half way off the hinge. Drawers were falling off the track and a danger for kids! The leather chair at the desk was pealing and falling apart. Lamp covers ans wall paper had multiple stains and dirt. The taff was the least helpful during this stay! No customer service! A manager never spoke with me even though I had multiple complaints during my stay and so many issues. We will NEVER return to this run down, dirty, terrible service hotel! I honestly don't know how Marriott has placed their name on this place. read more

I did not get the opportunity to complete my stay at this property so this review is based solely on the customer service, or lack thereof. The management here has no understanding of how to deal with urgent matters. When my card on file for my reservation failed to process, instead of calling me to inform me and give me a chance to update with a new card, the Front Desk/Housekeeping Supervisor, Dimitrius Loa, sent me an email the afternoon of my check-in date, at approximately 12:40pm, requesting I complete a form and return by 2pm, or my reservation would be cancelled. As it was a Saturday and I had a full day before my travel plans, I didn't have the opportunity to check my email before arriving to the hotel that evening. When I arrived, I was told my reservation was cancelled and they were fully booked and unable to accommodate me. Luckily I live in LA so I was able to drive myself home, since all other hotels in the area were also sold out. However one would think that an urgent matter such as this one would necessitate a courtesy phone call. If I had been traveling from further out of town, or god forbid, flying in, this would have been a much larger issue than it ended up being. It's unreal to me that the manager of a hotel could mishandle this so badly. read more

You know what they say about first impressions, ours were not very good. Firstly, valet parking, (the only parking at the hotel), is $37 a night! Okay, I got over that. Walked in and the two staff members at the desk just stared at me with blank faces. I said I was checking in and they got somewhat friendlier. Then another couple arrived and they were greeted with a "Welcome to the Four Points, etc.". I couldn't decide what was the matter so I dismissed it. On the second night the room keys didn't work. I went to the front desk and explained the problem and all she said was "Photo ID", like she was a cop. That's it, nothing else. We now bring a UV flashlight with us to hotels after a bed bug incident in Little Italy a couple of years ago. So the room was clean. Whew! Pros: Right between the Gaslamp and Little Italy, very walkable Remodeled room Clean Cons: Mostly unfriendly staff Construction (never notified) Teeny, tiny space in the closet cabinet (because of the safe and fridge inside) Really dark bathrooms No sheers on window (couldn't let the sun in without the neighbors looking in) so we had to keep the curtains closed A pool you won't want to swim in Horrible free coffee from a dusty coffee maker Intermittent TV remote (which they fixed with new batteries, at my suggestion) Pictures missing from the wall (just hooks) $37 dollar a day parking, $265 a night king room Dead keys Now in case you think I'm being somewhat picky, we had just come from the Burbank Hilton Garden Inn and the staff there were extremely friendly, from the desk clerks to the cleaning staff. They had sheer curtains and I could let the sun in without the neighbors waving at us. Parking was $15 a day and the pool was a place you would want to swim in and hang out. I have to say my family and I had a great stay. We were here for a wedding none of the guests complained. The rooms were very cleaned. Dimitrius was such a helpful and caring person. He really went above and beyond to help accommodate my family and I in different rooms. We had such a horrible experience elsewhere and thanks to him my family and I were in a great and safe place. I can't ever thank Dimitrius and his staff enough for helping us out. The staff were very nice from valet, to cleaning crew, and front desk staff. I would have loved the bar to be open so we could have drank at the hotel during our stay. I hope they open the bar soon so I can go back. Overall, it was a great stay. 5 stars for this class of hotels. Obviously at a Four Points you're not going to get a "5-Star" experience like you would at the Ritz but then again, you should know that when you book. At $150 a night for a weekend I thought the Four Points was an excellent value. The surrounding area has endless places to eat and is extremely pedestrian friendly. Situated about a half mile from the ocean & train station and a mile from the Gaslamp, I did not have to order a single Uber all weekend. The lobby and decor in the common areas could definitely use some updating but the rooms have been modernized. I found the beds to be very comfy and the staff to be helpful. The hotel is situated near the freeway so there was some slight noise, however I don't think it warrants docking a star since I expect there to be similar noise anywhere in a metropolitan area, regardless of proximity to the freeway. I did not drive/park at the hotel so I didn't have a parking issue but I'm told it is $37/day to park. San Diego has very limited parking and based on past visits I don't think the price is unreasonable - I've seen $50+/day at other similar hotels in the area and would expect to pay in that range if I had brought my car. read more

This place is an absolute nightmare of a hotel. The room that we were originally given had a pile of dirty wet towels and bedding on the bathroom floor. We attempted to call down to the front desk to notify them, however the phone in our room did not work. After going down to the front desk to straighten the matter out we were given a new room That had an odor so strong of mold and mildew throughout that it literally made my wife nauseous. The remote control didn't work with the tv just the volume and power buttons worked. Back to front desk where once again received apologies and told we would receive complimentary breakfast. Next morning we attempted to receive our free breakfast only to be told there was no record of that from the previous shift. We left immediately which i would strongly suggest to anyone who is thinking of staying here... Never Again read more

Hotel was within walking distance to Little Italy, which was convenient. The room was nice, bed was very comfortable with plenty of pillows. The staff was friendly and greeted us every day. They have a pool and a small fitness center. Fresh brewed coffee in the lobby everyday too! read more

Parking seems ridiculous however if you look at the local competition you'll notice there all around the same. $25 didn't seem to bad. The hotel does lack a huge lobby filled with diamonds but hey, you get what you pay for. I thought my room was very nice with a bay view from my window. I also like how you pump the soap rather than your traditional mini soaps and shampoos. The beds were also comfortable and to brand standard. One small recommendation would be to train front desk agents on connections with guest more. I felt the front desk was standoffish and just want to move me along. Other than that I would stay again especially for the price! Ask for a bay view room it's worth it. read more

They told us to leave our trash and used towels outside our hotel room to be collected and that sat there for three days. We were supposed to stay here for a week but will be moving hotels. Checked in here a couple hours ago, and we are super impressed with the service we've received from Andrew at the front desk. My husband and I "ran away from home" for a couple of nights to escape reality together. We were greeted warmly and professionally by Andrew the minute we walked into the lobby. We're happily chilling in our beautifully-appointed Skyline room with a gorgeous view of the bay. Unfortunately, there wasn't an ice bucket (maybe "appropriated" by the previous guest?), and a quick call to Andrew and we had one. The TV gave us a bit of trouble, Andrew was on the phone with the engineer. We apologized for being "those guests" that complain (we're not usually), and Andrew was gracious when assuring us that we weren't. When we asked, he offered amazing suggestions about brunch places tomorrow, with great Bloody Marys. He even gave us a printed list of local places that the hotel had researched and knew to be open in the midst of this pandemic. Thank you, Andrew. We hope management and corporate realize what an asset they have in you! read more

Overall, the hotel is okay. It has added security to where every entrance requires a key card to get in. The hotel also does have it's own parking garage. The downside to this is that when I was locked out of the front lobby for 3 minutes waiting for somebody to walk by. In order to get into the front lobby, you need a room key card but to get a room key card, you need to check in. An added downside to the extra security is that is parking is $30 per night for the garage. There isn't much street parking near the hotel as an alternative. One of the redeeming up sides to this hotel is the location. This hotel is about half a mile away from Little Italy. The perfect place if you want to spend the day or evening bar hopping and then want to walk back. Overall, the hotel is sufficient for short weekend getaway trips. Any longer and the parking garage fee starts to add up. ($90 for 3 nights) read more

Called several weeks ahead and requested adjoining rooms since rooms are too small for five people. We were given rooms 703 and 705 with room 704 between us. We were there for 8 days and each day I requested to be moved to adjoining rooms. Never happened. Two kids stayed by themselves in one of the rooms which was not ideal. Our rooms overflowed with trash. We ran out of towels and toilet paper. We were charged parking for both rooms even though we only had one car and were told at Check-in that there was only a parking charge in one room. Found the mistake in my emailed bill after checkout. Make sure to check your receipt for this place or they will take your money!!! This place is very poorly run and had terrible customer service. I am sure there are better places to stay. Extremely disappointed that this is a Marriott hotel. Sent a message to corporate Marriott as well. read more

The place is not cleaned well. Front desk staff is rude. They over charge and don't tell you ahead of time that they "hold" funds. Online parking is listed as part of their amenities but when you get there they charge $30/night! Ridiculous!!! I will never stay here again it's also very loud at night due to the location. I recently stayed at this hotel and was very unimpressed. Arrival was easy, and I was glad to be able to do early check-in. The location is great - easy access to the freeway and walking distance to Little Italy, Gaslamp, etc. I was dismayed to learn that parking was valet only - at $37/day before tipping. I would have appreciated a more affordable self-park option, especially considering the valet lost our keys overnight! We got our keys back the next morning, but that was after the valet attendant called and came to our room at 11:45PM looking for our keys, interrupting our evening after our car had already been left for several hours. The room was ok. The beds were very comfortable and appeared clean, and it was nice to have a mini-fridge. The shower was a different story. The curtain didn't come down to the bottom edge of the tub, and the plumbing was messed up - more water sprayed out of the tub faucet than the showerhead. The icing on the cake was out last morning, when loud construction started all around our room at 8AM, waking us up. It didn't stop, so we called down to the front desk to ask if anything could be done. After a few calls, there was no break from the loud banging and we gave up on trying to get a full night of sleep. Upon checkout, I was credited the valet charges after a fair amount of back-and-forth. I'm glad they credited us, but it seems like the least they could do. I don't have "high standards" for hotels - e.g. I frequently stay at Motel 6 - but the interruptions I experienced during this stay are more than your typical 2-3 star hotel shenanigans. Stayed here months ago, during a work trip. The manager Nadia and staff are excellent!!!!! Friendly And helpful, Had to stay an extra night on short notice and Nadia took good care of me. Mitch at the front desk was extremely helpful during check in and when I was trying to find some good local food. My room was clean, big TV, and comfortable bed. parking is secure. Which I like because I'm in construction And carry tools. San Diego does have a large Homeless population. But this place is secure and Safe. read more

Very nice, we are SPG members and staying here on way to Hawaii, it is close to the San Diego airport and they have shuttle service that starts at 6am. We had dinner in the restaurant. Patricia was the bar tender server, as well the chief came out and checked on us. The food was great and reasonably priced, they have local San Diego craft beers. The rooms were modern, clean and bed was very nice. Will here in the future on trip out of San Diego airport. read more

When showering, water collected on floor due to the shower curtain too small and didn't properly block the water room 1207! This was tiny for our family of four to stay in even with two beds. Ok where to begin, I guess I'll address the worst things first and end off with the highlights of my first night staying at the Four Paints by Sheraton Little Italy San Diego. Well if I would've known that this hotel or better yet an upgraded room with a bay view would have entailed being over I-5 I would have said no thank you! I really can't believe I used up one of my Suite Awards for this! So the traffic and vehicle noise have kept me up most of the night (hence why the early morning message). I even had to turn on the air conditioner just to try to drown the noise but that only worked for minutes at a time (turn on/off once temperature was set). Bottom line you should advertise the fact that because this is an circular shape hotel that sits right next to I-5 I doubt you'll NOT hear any noise when you book with us! That should be how you start off your hotel overview or description. Ok next on my list of wonderful first night noises is your elevator. I could have sworn that my profile on Bonvoy says that I do not like staying near elevators but when I checked in the front desk person said that he was sorry but that I had no other options because of COVID and if I changed it would throw off or unbalance the hotels COVID spacing or room count. So of course I didn't question it then. Once in my room and throughout the night all I could hear was the constant thud, thud, thud coming from the direction of the elevators. I guess every time someone summons the elevator one of you elevators makes that noise as it's going up and down the elevator shaft. Not sure what it is but if you're staying in a room by the elevator you're in luck you get to hear that randomly throughout the night. Additionally last night I sent a message via the chat function of the Bonvoy app to the hotel at around 11:35 and haven't received a reply yet so I had to call the front desk because the room above us was having what sounded to us a "clogging" party. Luckily the front desk clerk answered after about 10-15 rings and called them to give them a warning. I should have known that, that call would have only gotten whoever it was up there more agitated because it only for worse after that but luckily between the road noise, the clogging upstairs, the elevator thuds and the AC fan noise I got into a good circadian rhythm and was able to fall asleep! Well only to be woken up at 5am to the wonderful traffic noise yet again! So far the highlight of this trip has been the fact that last night as I was parking in your parking garage all I could smell was weed being smoked in your underground garage, cars being work (I guess someone was decided that they were going to replace a door panel of their car) a blue Dodge Charger revving his engine uncontrollably as though he was about to race or shift in your circular garage and people jamming out. I guess why is this my highlight well for a minute there I felt young again and remembered what it was like to go cruising with my friends on a weekend and just living it up! As a Marriott higher tiered award member in your Bonvoy program, I think I know a few things about traveling and life in a hotel. In my humble opinion if people knew the reality of what staying in this hotel would be like I'm sure they wouldn't stay here. Unfortunately for me and fortunate for you, I will be staying here another night because well to be honest with you we already off loaded all of our luggage and the thought of going into your app again and trying to find another hotel for one night is not something I want to do on the weekend because I already had done that, successfully I thought. Well I went ahead and sent the same post through your chat function on your Bonvoy App and haven't received a response so I thought maybe this way it would generate some attention. Due to the construction we couldn't nap during the day. This was really unfortunate as we needed to nap before our meetings. This is the second time this year I booked a hotel and was not notified about construction until I arrived at the hotel and did not have the option to stay at another hotel. I am not going to lie this made our stay not enjoyable. The front check-in area is very small and the front desk was a little unorganized especially when we couldn't check in and had to leave our bags there as when we returned there was some confusion on who's bags belonged to who. ATTENTION: Make sure the construction is done before booking here by calling the hotel directly and asking as they will not enclose it unless you ask. It's frustrating to have to call hotels and ask if there is construction every single time I book a hotel but after this incident this is what I do every time now. * The Auto Nightly Valet charge is something to ask about too. read more

Could not be bothered to use the hotels reservation system to clarify reservation location. Literally had to walk the girl through the whole process - all the meanwhile the manager who was also at the front desk. Was of no help with an air of frustration over whatever crisis he was zeroed in on. So glad our reservation was for the Marina and not here. When you work in hospitality or customer service period the art of having staff that stays cool & composed is what makes or breaks a place. This is a no for me. I would never make reservations here.
