Fabulous local diner; exactly how you'd imagine it. Hash browns, eggs, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, excellent sausage!! Down home feel, old school. Reasonably priced, compared to the big cities I often eat in.

If you're looking for a cute little place with a lot of history for breakfast, check out The Diner. It features a long bar with lots of stools, side tables, and a very interesting atmosphere. We had the eggs, hash, browns, bacon, and toast special and it was pretty good. The service was amazingly fast and very friendly. Give it a try next time you're on Main Street in Fond du Lac.

I stopped here at 11:45 am on a Tuesday and the place was packed. I took the last open booth in the place. My server came right over and took my drink order. When she returned with my drink, I ordered a bacon double cheeseburger with fries. The menu was not that large and was lacking typical diner meals. Normally I don't order burgers, but that was the best-looking thing on the menu to me that day. She returned with my burger after a short time, and I was excited to see it. The bun was very fresh and not typical for a burger bun. Under that the bacon looked fresh and meaty, not your typical bacon on a burger. The meat patties were nothing special, but I must tell you, this was a good hamburger. I really enjoyed it. As far as the French fries go, they could use some help. If they would cook the fries longer, that would greatly improve them. They were undercooked in my opinion, and very disappointing compared to the burger. Overall, this is a nice diner in a very old building. The wait staff was good and as far as the food goes, I would stop here and eat again, and I would get the burger.... It really was that good.

No frills or fancy meals. Just solid American food at ridiculously low prices. Friendly service, and classic breakfast diner ambiance make this a place I will return to. Did I mention the ridiculously low prices? The most expensive menu item is like $7.00, and adding coffee to that is a whopping $0.50 Connie's is cash-only, but they have an ATM right by the door.

I wanted to start my day trip with a breakfast from some place that was off the beaten path and one of a kind so I chose this place. This place looks old school on Main St with high ceilings, lunch counter and booths along the walls and it's very tight. The menu is small and cheap with the usual breakfast items. I wanted to keep it simple today so I got 2 eggs, sausage links and toast. Since I was not having hash browns to soak up my yoke I got my eggs over medium which were perfect. The toast was Texas and nicely done. The sausage links were skinless that were tasty and reminded me of the Farmland skinless links. I'm a big fan of the toast sandwich so I put the sausage and eggs on my toast for a breakfast sandwich which was good. For a simple $6 breakfast I can't complain and got just what I was looking for to start my day.

A great cafe for early breakfast in Fond Du Lac. It's like stepping back in time with old style breakfast counter and red vinyl booth style seating. I had the corn beef and hash and eggs, cooked just the way I ordered. The coffee was brewed to a good medium, not to dark or watered down. Service was great. A great way to start the rainy day. Now back to Texas!!

Connies quaint little diner has great coffee, a modest menu and quality products. Sitting at the counter I appreciate the cleanliness of the grill and fryer area. Connie and her staff do a great job maintaining the place. Thanks for breakfast!

Only place I've ever been to that asks how you want your bacon cooked according to a chart. Great little spot for breakfast.

This place is a cross between a bar and a sandwich shop. Half the menu consists of deep fried starters, burgers and the requisite Friday fish fry, the other half has a great selection of soups, salads and sandwiches. We ordered adult beverages and they arrived fairly quickly. Even though it was Friday, we turned down the fish special and opted for soup and sandwiches. We both ordered the French onion soup. It was excellent. My order was for soup and the half sandwich special with a cheeseburger as my sandwich. This was a great option for me as the regular menu cheeseburgers is 1/2 lb which is way too big for me. One of my husband's favorite sandwiches is a Reuben. The caveat being it has to be on dark rye, not marble rye. Friar Tuck made his day serving up a meaty corned beef Rueben with Swiss cheese and sauerkraut on dark rye with a side of thousand island dressing. Both sandwiches came with carrot and celery sticks with a side of ranch dip. Nice touch! We will stop here again the next time we're in town.

Tired of the same chain fast food restaurants you find everywhere else, we decided to stop at Tucker's because I recalled liking the food from their former Johnson Street location. One kid got a grilled cheese with fries, the other got a double cheeseburger with fries, and I got the half pound cheeseburger. I also tried to order cheddar nuggets for myself, but the person taking my order apparently missed entering that, which I found to be very disappointing. The kid that got the grilled cheese can be pretty picky, so him saying that the fries and grilled cheese were both close to Culver's in quality is high praise. I'm not normally a fan of crinkle fries, but I thought the couple I tried were decent as far as crinkle fries go. The kid that got the burger and I both agreed that our burgers were fantastic. I thought my burger was seasoned well and had plenty of cheese on it. In addition to my disappointment with not getting the cheddar nuggets that I thought I ordered, both the Pepsi and Diet Pepsi in their soda fountain tasted bad. I dumped out the Diet Pepsi right away and only drank enough of the regular Pepsi to get through the meal. Maybe upgrade to a shake instead of risking your money on getting a soda, although prices are high enough already that you may not want to spend more on an upgrade.
