The new owners (Lu and husband) have really turned this place around! We had been going there for years until the owners at the time (2018 or so) just totally destroyed what had been a really decent place. We quit going there. But now it's all different. It's been remodeled, there is a super little robot (Anna) that brings the food along with the excellent wait staff and then takes the dirty dishes back to be washed. This makes it so much easier on the wait staff who now don't have to break their backs carrying heavy food trays and totes full of dirty dishes. They're not exhausted by what is very hard work, so they're happy to be there. Several have told me that the owners treat them like family- very caring people! Best of all, the food is great; real honest-to-God potatoes and home made desserts. I nominated the Stretch for best Fri fish fry because the perch tastes like the perch we used to have when i was a kid and perch came from the local lakes, not factory farms! It's once again a family-owned great place- not fancy but genuinely home-style. I say 5 stars! read more

the little creamers for coffee were spoiled. out of date curdled in my coffee. the waffle I had tasted awful I could not eat it. the waitress was very nice and took it off my bill. I will probably go there again, but not forawhile. read more

The Stretch was closed for a while which disappointed us, but recently we noticed a "Now Open" banner, so we stopped in for breakfast. We learned that there's a new owner, and the restaurant has been given a bit of a facelift. It's a truck stop restaurant and there was a small flow of people in and out while we dined. Breakfast is served all day, and they had a few Greek options on the menu. I decided on gyro meat with eggs and toast (or a pancake), and selected sourdough toast as my side. My order showed up with three decent slices of gyro meat, and a generous portion of tangy tzatziki sauce, which was unexpected but appreciated. My eggs were appropriately over medium. We sat at the counter and service was good. I also noticed that they were advertising homemade desserts, but we didn't partake, and daily food specials. We were out for around $30 with tip for two meals with waters. read more

This used to be fantastic when I was younger. It seems to have gone down hill. I ordered a glass of orange juice and it tasted like sewage was used to mix it. I ended up leaving after the juice. It was extremely cold inside but the waitress was very kind. Not worth staying though. read more

The salads here are a really good deal because the portion is good and a nice size (bigger than a cup) of soup is included in the price. I had a Julienne salad featuring ham, turkey, cheese, and hard boiled egg. I paid extra and got two soups. One was a chili soup. It's just like it sounds having the consistency of soup but tasting like chili. I think a little sugar was added but it was still good. The other soup was supposed to be cream of mushroom. It wasn't very creamy and it was thickened with cornstarch but it was still good. I especially enjoyed the ranch dressing I had on the salad. It was quite obviously home made and one of the best I've ever had. Please be aware that if you order the side of beef hash you will actually be getting corned beef hash even though it is listed as beef hash. read more

Typical truckstop, diner, in terms of decor and comfort. It was decent. The food was good. Lotta options on the menu. I had a biscuit and gravy omelette, which was a unique offering. The biscuits were actually cooked into the omelette, which was topped with sausage gravy. Good hashbrowns. I had a little hot sauce to the hashbrowns. This is pretty much a typical greasy spoon truck stop eatery. The place was clean, and our server had a super fun personality. We were only at about $26 total for three people (burger, BLT and meatloaf meal), so the prices were highly favorable. I would definitely go back, but if I lived local, I'd probably avoid just because people playing slot machines bum me out, and there were many of those. This is no longer The Stretch we all remember and that is a great thing! Now you walk in and it's clean, open concept, clean servers without the dingy truck stop feel. My server was Brianna and was very attentive, polite and on point for just starting. I loved the salt and pepper grinders. I wish more restaurants made the same choice. The coffee was fresh with a smooth flavor. I chose The Stretch Skillet with over easy eggs. 10/10! I ordered with a side of toast because if the food was no good toast is usually a win. Well it was so good I asked my server to make me a pancake that I could have had as a side instead of toast. Yes you heard me right! You get a choice of white or wheat toast OR a pancake. No more having to decide on a filling protein mean or the pancake we crave! I prefer the choice over 10 different toast choices! I'm picky about pancakes so wasn't sure but I have to say that pancake was even amazing! Light, fluffy and cooked to perfection! The prices are still very reasonable in comparison to other local diners and better than many we all know and visit regularly. I definitely won't be heading down to Main Street for breakfast any time soon. The Stretch is definitely new, improved better than ever and hopefully here to stay! The staff vary slow, took me 30 minutes to get a drink and another 30 minutes to order food. The food was good but some of your staff needs improvement . You play there games and can't even get paid out for a vary small amount. read more

The waitress, Lori H. Could have been a little more pleasant. At 1 point she was writing down another customers order. Her nose was running so instead of going to the.back to blow it, she just wiped it with her bare hand. She didn't bother to go back to.wash them. So anyway, I ordered mushroom and Swiss omelet with side of sausage links and tomatoes slices and rye toast. They come out with sausage and tomato omelet. So of course she has to take that back to get the right one. Two very teeny slices of bread that wasn't the size of one slice. And only 2 teeny slices of puny size tomato. Come on guys! read more

We stopped here out of sheer desperation during a long road trip and I can tell you it was the best choice we've made! The restaurant is clean, staff is courteous, food is phenomenal! We go out of our way to drive the 40 miles just to eat here again and again! I thought, "Oh it's just a yucky old truck stop, it's going to be gross." but it is every bit as good as any casual dining you can find. Prices are VERY good for what you get. We've been a regular for some time and never experienced such rudeness on Monday, June 10th. The waitress was just extremely rude. When you order two orders of fries--if you wanted them to be combined in one you would think you would say that, but when you ask for two orders, wouldn't you think you would get two orders? I PAID WAY TOO MUCH for fries that looked like one order.....ridiculous. Never ever eating there again and I will tell my friends and family to find somewhere else. I do have friends that work there, but during the day and I know they do their jobs and take care of their customers, but be careful during 2nd shift during the week. That's all I'm saying. read more
