Great service and amazing food! Highly recommend.

Great service and food. Would recommend checking it out if you are in the area! Really enjoyed the crepes.

    The owner with my Judi!!

A super place for a GREAT BREAKFAST! We came here with another couple from Central Ohio. The staff was SUPER FRIENDLY!! We were seated quickly. Our order came out quickly and hot. We ordered a Blueberry Pancake for the table and we all agreed that it was delicious! We even met the owner and she took a picture with my wife whose name is Judi! So of course we had to buy a T-Shirt! Come to this restaurant for a great start to your day!!

    Pancakes. Fair, not amazing.

We arrived about 10 minutes early, checked in with the hostess, and were told that due to the volume of reservations they were seating strictly on schedule, so we were asked to wait at the bar. Fair enough. When I made the reservation, I had noted that they were offering a "make your own mimosa bar," which sounded like a nice touch for Mother's Day. My mom and I planned to participate, so I asked whether we could get a mimosa from the station while we waited and either pay for it immediately or add it to our final bill. We were told no -- that we had to wait until we were seated. That seemed unnecessarily rigid given that we were already checked in and simply waiting for our table. The mimosa bar itself was also underwhelming. The champagne was pre-poured into plastic flutes and sitting out getting warm, while the juice options (orange, pomegranate, and "strawberry shortcake?") were also sitting out and not kept on ice. Overall, it did not feel particularly fresh or elevated. One of the specials was the "pendulum pancake." While the presentation is certainly novel -- the pancakes arrive hanging from a stake, swinging above the plate -- the actual dish was disappointing. The pancakes were quite small, with sliced banana layered between them, and overall the presentation looked sparse and a little tragic rather than indulgent or impressive. The rest of the food we ordered was fine. I had the standard breakfast, my husband ordered the chicken sandwich, and my dad had the burger. Ironically, the real standout of the meal was the fries. They also had a DJ playing during brunch. I understand the atmosphere they were trying to create, but that aspect also fell a bit flat. There is a lot of potential for this to become a more curated and unique occasion-style brunch experience, but the execution currently does not fully support the concept.

Get there early or you'll end up waiting. Don't drink? Too bad; if you don't get there early, you'll wait. Salad bar (which I love), not here. Muddled old fashioned, not here. Cozy atmosphere and solid customer service, definitely in the right place. We arrived with a veteran couple. They got us there early, understood the ordering routine and found us a place to sit. We ordered appetizers and drinks. Definitely get the onion rings as they are incredible! Drinks were solidly poured and reasonably priced. We ordered and were surprised by how quickly we were seated. The vegetable tray and bread basket were good. Our meals came out shortly after we were seated. The salads were nice sized and the blue cheese dressing with crumbles was great. Our entrees (ribeye, tenderloin with chicken, prime rib and fish) were all sized nicely and prepared as ordered. My dining partner said the chicken was some of their all-time favorite. My ribeye was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. Our dining partners loved their choices. Overall, I'd really like to give 4.5 stars, but my pals at Yelp still don't trust half stars. Our server, Adam, was quick and attentive. He was funny, suggested items for us to try, and was very tentative of our friend's food allergy. We started the night with a few drinks; #39 non-alcoholic Paloma, #129 non-alcoholic sbagiato, and #33 Sherry Pear-Y. All of which were absolutely amazing! Then we ordered the Chili Crisp Deviled Eggs (comes with two pieces), Crispy Thai-Style Oyster Mushrooms, Cappelletti, Slow-braised Bison Cheek, Cha Ca La Vong (Catfish), and the Wood-fired Bavette Steak. Where do I begin? First off, everything was fantastic! Delicious, creative, and memorable. Some dishes even had us ordering seconds! First the Chili Crisp Deviled Eggs: so creamy! We ended up ordering another plate of them (four orders) because one wasn't enough for the four of us. The Crispy Thai-Style Oyster Mushroom: insanely seasoned! It was crispy and the kick of the Thai chili peppers, made it our tables favorite (we ordered another plate of this)! The bits of crunch rice mixed in was also a pleasant surprise. The bits of green beans and cucumber was a nice way to cool the kick of the spices. The Slow-braised Bison Cheek: It was very interesting. Very soft and when paired with the polenta cake, mozzarella, and carrot, it tasted amazing. Cha Ca La Vong (Catfish): Also very interesting. It tastes very similar to a Vietnamese catfish soup! The pineapple fish sauce paired amazing with the glass noodles. The only complaint I have about this dish, was that the glass noodles weren't fully cooked, so they were a bit hard. The Wood-fired Bavette Steak: My god, this was amazing! It was perfectly cooked, the dark chocolate bordelaise paired with the mushrooms and steak was incredible. Like I said, everything was amazing! Our table was blown away with the creativity and quality of the food. The service was amazing, everyone was very sweet and helpful. The atmosphere was lovely and quirky. It was fun spotting all the duck decorations. Honestly, cannot rave enough about this place, I look forward to the next time I visit!

The Horse and Plow is a great spot if you have a group or family where noise is not a bug but a feature. We came here on our second evening around 7:00 for dinner. Food: The menu has a good selection of beverages and pub-style food. There is an extensive list of whiskeys, including bourbon and rye, lots of beers, and some specialty cocktails. We settled on a draft beer and the Plum Crazy cocktail, which was super yummy. For food, they offer appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, and a fish fry. There is even a Wagyu flat iron steak if you are interested in paying $75. We decided on the Double Butter Smashburger with truffle fries and the Walleye Fish Fry. The burger was good, although it could have been cooked a bit more to create more caramelized edges. The bun was good, but a bit too much bread for me, so I ate it open-faced. The truffle fries were delicious and could have been a meal in themselves. The walleye was battered and breaded with good texture, and the fish was flaky. I felt it was a bit overcooked, and the last several bites were very tough. Service: We did not have a reservation, and there were no tables available when we arrived. We took a spot at the bar, where the bartender got us an order of drinks. The service, both at the bar and at the table, was efficient but not especially friendly or outgoing. The food came out nice and hot, waters were kept full, and the check arrived promptly after the meal was finished. For those looking for a pub experience, this is a good spot. However, being at the American Club, I think I was looking for more of an elevated experience. This felt more like a place for a quick meal than somewhere I would feel compelled to return to. Atmosphere: It is a pub, and that is exactly what you get. It was very noisy at times, especially as larger groups were enjoying themselves.
