DO NOT BOOK!!! My husband and I booked the Three Star Deluxe Sunset Dinner & Show on March 6, 2026 (Booking #: 1554603052477216). We were very disappointed by the experience, service, and food. When we first arrived, we were given 2 free alcoholic drink tickets each. When we were seated at the very beginning, we were sat right next to another party of 2 and we were shoulder to shoulder with the couple next to us. The table seemed as if we were a party of 4 instead of 2. I had a purse with me and asked the waiter if he had a purse hook or if there was a chair I could put my purse on. He told me there was no place for my purse and I would have to hold it. The tables were small and I had to physically hold my purse in my lap so it would not fall onto the floor the entire dinner. The entire dinner was very disorganized and we had no direction on the appetizers (cheese and crackers). The website and confirmation email stated the dinner was 2 hours, however we were stuck on the boat for 3 hours! In the description of the dinner we booked, we were told there would be complimentary champagne, however, as we were sitting down, the couple next to us asked about the champagne. The waiter then stated the "champagne" was nonalcoholic sparkling apple juice. The tables were small and packed and as our waiter was refilling our "champagne glass" he knocked over multiple items on our table and picked it up and placed the dirty items back onto our table. When the waiter went to refill the drinks at the table next to us, he also knocked down multiple items and the food and items that fell onto the floor, fell directly on my light-colored shoes. The waiter then walked away and the couple next to us had to pick up the items off my foot and the floor. The waiter took 35 minutes to come over to us and ask what drink we wanted to order, although I waved him down a few times as we were ready to order a drink. When the waiter came over he stood over my husband and I and said "sorry for the wait" and just stood there. We were confused if he was actually taking our drink order or something else since he did not specify. My husband asked " is this to order our drinks" and the waiter just stood there in silence. The entire experience was awkward. We read on the menu "water is served upon request", when asking the waiter for water he pointed to the corner of the room. There was a water jug with water and small 4-ounce water cups. The waiter did not have any larger cups for the water and every time we wanted a refill, we would have to get up out of our seats and walk over to the water jug. When the first entree was served (lobster), we were disappointed in the quality of the food. Additionally, I asked the server for an extra seafood cracker when he served the food and he did not reply and simply walked away. The lobster was served cold and the lobster tail was covered in tomalley (liver/pancreas). I have eaten lobster several times in my life, as I grew up along the coast and I have never seen a lobster absolutely covered in tomalley. The lobster tail is supposed to have an opaque white color. The rest of the lobster had a grayish color and did not smell good. I ate a small amount and the lobster tasted as if it went bad. My husband had the same experience with his lobster so both the lobsters were left uneaten. We attempted to let the waiter know but he only stated " so sorry about that" and walked away. When the second entre was served (steak), the meat came out lukewarm and had a weird aftertaste. The steak did not taste fresh and my husband tried his steak as well and had the same experience. Neither of us ate the lobster or the steak due to the odd taste. It tasted as if both the lobster and steak had passed their expiration date. I asked the waiter after over 25 minutes from ordering our drinks which we ordered a Pinot Noir and a Budweiser if our drinks were ready. He nodded his head and walked away. 10 more minutes went by and then I flagged down the same waiter and asked him if the drinks were along the bar counter and he said " we have to clear drinks from tables first before we serve new ones" and walked away. I was left confused since we had not even received any drinks yet so I was unsure what drinks he was "clearing". After 50 minutes of waiting for our drinks, I asked a third time and he nodded again and shuffled away quickly. The waiter came over after 50 MINUTES of waiting and handed us our drinks and quickly left our table. It took the server 50 minutes from the time our drink order was put in, to hand us two drinks that are poured out of bottles! We received our drinks after the first entree was served! I had a sip of my Pinot Noir which was completely room temperature. The glass was not even cold and there was no condensation on the glass. My husband received a slightly colder beer but it was still not the temperature a beer should be served. read more

We took some friends from out of town on the buffet dinner cruise for their last night on Oahu. Check in was easy (make sure you get to the dock half an hour early to allow time for parking). Our server was hilarious and friendly and answered all our questions. We cheered with some complimentary mai tai's and took off promptly at 5:30. The views from the top deck and beautiful and allow you to get a picture perfect view of the sunset. The food was okay. They had mac salad, tofu and watercress salad, rice, stir fried noodles, shoyu chicken, yellow curry fish and prime rib. I liked there was enough variety to satisfy picky eaters. Quality wise the flavors were fine but tasted a little like your average plate lunch spot. There were dances after dinner that exhibited different Polynesian cultures. The dancers kept the crowd engaged with their different costumes and high energy. Because we went on a Friday, we were able to see Hilton Hawaiian's fireworks from the cruise ship. I've never seen the fireworks on the water and it was absolutely beautiful. Overall, I'd recommend going with some friends from out of town. It's a great way to end a vacation if you're willing to pay for it. read more

We booked a sunset dinner cruise to celebrate a birthday. We had a total of 12 people and it was nice that they were able to accommodate us. You wont be disappointed as the food is good, whether you go with the set meal or buffet; the entertainment which consist of a showcase of different Polynesian dances, hula lessons and group activities. Last but not least.. the views! During sunset you'll see the view of Waikiki and Diamond Head at golden hour. You'll see the sun sink under the horizon and then once the city lights turn on, you can see another view of Waikiki. I also like the fact that you can walk around the ship and not bound to your seats. They have lots of chairs at the top for you chill before or after dinner. Did i mention complementary Mai Tai's? You can also get them without alcohol. We had the buffet and it was awesome. The prime rib was cooked well. The fried noodles was probably my favorite. There was also chicken and fish on the menu. There was also a lot of desserts to choose from. Cookies, pastries and cake to flush all your buffet food down. Overall, a great experience for all. Locals or tourist. Here are some tips. Parking can be expensive at Aloha Tower. It was convenient but it was $24 once we got to the exit. Also, a lot of people will be leaving at the same time so there could be a long wait to get out. I would recommend going on Friday. Why you ask? Well, you can enjoy the sunset and then a firework show afterwards near Waikiki. Regardless when you go though, you can enjoy the awesome views at any part of the ship. read more

Celebrated my birthday on this cruise. My nephew & sister came from the mainland to celebrate my day. My hubby made reservations. The servers were quite phenomenal! Kudos to them. Food was delicious & presentation was on point. The entertainment was quite uplifting & certainly brought the aloha in their dancing performance. The only gripe I have is the very last dessert I think they ran out of the mousse pie. That would've made my night perfect. Some tables received their pie, however we did not. read more

Great experience, however when I booked I did not know there were three levels of meals served. Top level of ship received a Lobster dinner, middle level a buffet and bottom level a plated meal that consisted of steak, chicken thigh and crab legs with a salad and ice cream for desert. The food was good, I wouldn't say excellent. We spent $257 for two people and honestly we had a great evening on the boat riding along the coast of Waikiki and dinner that included 1 free Drink. Don't waste your time or money on this dinner cruise. It is overpriced and underwhelming. I paid over $400 for mediocre food, boring views and poor service. On top of all this my expensive sunglasses were stolen from my table and they would not do anything to help or even sympathize. They encourage everyone to get up and leave their tables to go to the upper deck and have everyone get up and dance around the boat at the end of the night. I had to spend all day the next day calling to try and get help only to be passed around and told I'd get calls back. Did the deluxe dinner cruise with table upgrade last Thursday while in Hawaii with another couple for our 50th anniversary. Champagne toast, lobster, steak, appetizers, dessert, coffee and 2 drinks. Our waiter was awful-totally missing in action! The table next to us had a very friendly and attentive waitress who was great, which showcased how poor ours was. Only brought water one time. Removed salad plates only when he brought lobster as no room on table. He removed 2 of the lobster plates only when he brought our steak. We had to keep piling the plates as table was small. We did get the first drink we ordered in the beginning but after the 2nd drinks ordered only brought 2 of them. We were sitting next to the cheese/fruit table so when they cleared that I put our pile of dirty plates on that table. He brought dessert to our (messy) table and never saw him again. No coffee, no drink, no water. All made worse because of the great service the table 10 inches away from us received. They had all entrees, dessert, and then coffee before we were even served dessert! Lobster very messy with no extra napkins provided and no one to ask. Steak was very soft and difficult to cut. While our neighbor table was able to go to the deck to watch sights we were still waiting for end of meal. A totally disappointing experience especially for a 50th anniversary celebration. Wow! I did the tour a long while ago and never wrote a review, shameful. I had a great time and my family and I really enjoyed the shows! The pick up for the boat was very easy right at the Aloha Tower. It was very easy to get on the boat and we were greeted by dancers that were dancing to Hawaiian music and showing lots of aloha we were seated immediately and it was quickly realize that we were going to be starting our feast quite soon. Our family took this dinner cruise and it was so fun! The entertainment was good and the food was good! There's 3 levels, the buffet, casual and deluxe. We chose the casual package and it was perfect! We were served salad, beef tenderloin, bbq chicken, and crab legs. And steamed veggies and mash potatoes. Then macadamia but ice cream. We did the "deluxe" dinner cruise that was about $230 per person with added fees. I have some constructive criticism, but overall we had a wonderful experience. Our cruise was three hours on a Friday night, and we were able to see the (not guaranteed) fireworks. The service and on board entertainment (a jazz ensemble) were excellent. The main area I see room for improvement was the food (full warning: I'm a foodie, always excited when I see local, seasonal, or carefully crafted items on a menu!). For what you're paying, you could tell a few corners were cut. The bread was low quality--the kind of fluffy bread you can get for $5 for a dozen at any supermarket bakery. The charcuterie board was a lovely way to welcome us on board, but the selection of meats and cheeses were basic (stuff you could assemble yourself via the deli section at Safeway). If some of the cheeses/meats were locally made/artisanal or there was information provided about them, it would elevate the experience. The lobster was pretty in presentation, but most of the plate was taken up with heaps of lettuce with no salad dressing, plus a few beets to make it look fancy. The lobsters were tiny--more like shrimp in size. Our favorite courses were the dragonfruit sorbet (so light and refreshing and tropical!) and the beef course--a buttery, perfectly cooked piece of meat. The potatoes on the plate were dry, however, and even the au jus from the meat couldn't quite perk them up (I suspect they were made all at once & kept on a warmer, which dried them out). The dessert was a very nice, simple cheesecake. I personally would have liked more options, but I understand the limitations of catering and preparing food for heaps of people on a boat. The musicians and singers were amazing. I've seeing better dancing. Food by far was better than most luaus. It was not Hawaiian food. 3 star deluxe is crab and steak. The meal is stretched out in waves so if you want to move about the boat between courses to take photos, enjoy the sunset from the deck... just let your wait staff know. It was a terrible experience. This happened on September 18, 2023. My friend asked nicely the manager John Ayala if we could move to the table next to us since no one was sitting at that table and he answered back "Yeah you can do whatever you want", so we moved to the next table. After a few seconds he went back and with a high tone of voice and in a rude manner asked us to clean up our first table for the favor that he had done. Some customers were looking at us and the guy next to our table even said: "Are we back in doing social distancing? Is it 2020 again". After cleaning up the table, a male waiter put back some used bread plates just on our table and we were like "What's going on". After what happened, our server approached us and she was like "What's going on" and explained the story. She agreed to us coz she knows the attitude of John Ayala and even told us that he may be tripping on us. While eating, John Ayala was approaching each table. Upon approaching I asked him if he asked someone to put back the used bread plates on our table and mentioned what he did coz we were upset and we just wanted a good time. He was being sarcastic about how to make up for his mistake but we didn't buy it. It was a terrible experience. John Ayala is the standard of terrible, unprofessional, inhospitable customer service. I wouldn't recommend this tour to anyone. The food was average and made it worse because of what happened. Ps. My friend want to move to the next table because the guy who teased us about social distancing and 2020 stuff smells bad. We just didn't mention it to John coz we don't want to be rude. To the guy who was teasing us, hope you take a bath nicely and brush your teeth properly. And to one server named Paris, thank you for being nice to us. We had recently went out to dinner at Ruth Chris steakhouse for the price we paid was disappointing but the Star Of Honolulu dinner cruise was well worth it. We paid pretty much the same for this three hour cruise. It was amazing. The servers were beyond joyful. The shows were amazing .The food was beautifully plated and delicious. We had a table by the window and walk around the boat and enjoy, the view of Honolulu and we also were able to view the fireworks from the water. Atmosphere: beautiful during the sunset hours, the spacing is a little compact since there are so many tables and seats but it didn't really affect my experience. They do various shows during the time out and the crew is very interactive with the crowd. Showing everyone that aloha spirit Food: who doesn't love a 5-course meal?!! All the portions were a great size especially the steak. they cooked mine a little more on the rare side when I asked for medium rare. I usually have the problem of them OVER cooking my meat at even a fine dining restaurant so I was pleased to have it a little under cooked than over cooked. What an incredible experience. We selected the Five Star Luxury Sunset and Jazz package, which was the most expensive package out the four packages. The other packages included buffet, casual, and deluxe. For this post, I will share my experience. We decided to take our own transportation. Parking is quite expensive so make sure you have at least $30+ depending where you park. The company list out five parking locations. We decided to park at Irwin parking which was $3 per 30 minutes. If this parking lot was full, our next parking location would have been pier 5&6 which was the same price as the Irwin parking but a lot more parking spots available. We arrived about 45 min prior to boarding. We checked-in and received a sticker that determined what line we needed to wait in. The lines were a bit confusing because there so many, but the staff was nice enough to show us which line to stand in. While waiting there was a hula show and we were greeted by some staff that escorted us on the ship. Because of our package we boarded the ship first. We were escorted to the highest floor which was the fourth level. Upon arriving we took pictures with 1of 3 captains. Then was offered a Hawaiian Bellini welcome drink. There were appetizers as well. One was a caviar egg plant, another had caviar and tomato, and the last appetizer was salmon. All appetizer had more items on it. After we were done with the appetizers, a staff member walked us to our table. We could not choose where to sit. The entire staff were amazing. At our table we had a total of 3 drink tickets each (6 total for 2 people). The only drinks that weren't covered were primarily the wine. For my menu items I requested substitutions so we could try the different menu items. I received a pea soup that was amazing. I tried the lobster bisque soup and it was amazing. The lobster bisque soup had lobster chunks in it. Shortly after, we were provided brioche and baguette. Then came the salad. The flower was edible. Next was my chicken that had really good flavor, polenta, and the carrots were cooked well. My guest received a Maine lobster and that was so good. After we received a hibiscus like sorbet to clean our pallet. It took a while, but received our beef Wellington, carrots, and potatoes which were all cooked good. They did not ask how we wanted our beef Wellington cook. At this point I was stuffed. The last menu items included coffee or tea. We went with the coffee route that was Kina coffee. In addition was our dessert that was mostly made with white wine. The menu items were amazing. Along with our meal we experienced the sunset, some jazz music, and singing. The boat ride was nice. The server Brandon was amazing. He was so helpful, treated us like valued guest, and my water was never half empty. He was amazing. Overall the entire staff was amazing and I would return again. Lastly, they did enforce a dress code so please stick to it or else you can't board. When I asked for a substitute, the customer service was really nice. I would return again. read more

I was treated to the dinner cruise so I am not sure which package we had exactly. I think it was the five star dinner. Overall it was great. The night we went out the seas were a bit rough. A couple of times I thought my chair might fall backwards. All was good an eventually the waves calmed down. We we're on the 4 floor/deck. The jazz dinner. We we're greeted with a friendly staff. Of course they try to get you to take pictures so they can charge you at the end of the night. We declined. We met the captain and he was quite friendly. Outside on the deck was a reception with a Hawaiian Bellini and pupus. The pupus we're not that tasty. Signs of what the canapes we're would have been helpful. The tofu was good. The Bellini was non alcoholic which was great for the start. Soon we we're ushered to our table. We each received three drink tickets. Quite generous. If we hadn't driven there we probably would have used all three. The bar was well stocked with a good menu of cocktails and after dinner drinks. Coffee and tea came with the dinner. I started with a whiskey sour. Our first course was a could tomato soup with a cube of smaked duck breast and pesto. It was quite good. We we're served two kinds of rolls. The butter was sculpted to look like a swan. Almost too cute to eat, but I like butter with my bread. The next course was grilled watermelon salad with feta cheese and special vinaigrette. It was quite tasty. By now I am starting to feel full and we are just getting started. There was no resting time between courses until we realized we could go outside and enjoy the sights between dishes. While it was windy outside it was warmer than inside. You definitely need a jacket or wrap because it is so cold. Next cam the lobster, a claw and half a tail. It had some sauce on it and a dollop of caviar. Mine was very tasty. My friend said hers was over cooked. Another friend ordered the chicken instead and I thought it was quite tasty. Another ordered the salmon. I didn't try it, but it looked good. There was strawberry sorbet with yuzu to clean the pallet before the steak came out. We took a break to go out and watch the sunset. Our steak dinner looked like a slice of beef tenderloin. The meat was super tender. It came with a potato and some tiny vegetables. The steak serving was just the right size. Good thing since they don't have doggie bags. I was so full from the previous courses I only ate the beef. The dessert was something I hadn't seen before, a gelatine fruit cake. It was good. Made with fresh berries. They also served gelato on a tiny piece of cake. I can't eat dairy so I just ate the cake. We finished our meal just in time for the fireworks. The dinner included live jazz music which was great. During dinner was a pianist and later after the fireworks a sax player and vocalist joined in so it was like a super club. They got people up to dance. The only thing I didn't like is during the dinner they had a Polynesian dance show. It made the dinner cheesy. There are so many opportunities to see hula etc. At other places. It was just out of place for the jazz. The staff were excellent. Alexis was our waitress. Very attentive and also very in tuned to food allergies. I am allergic to vodka and the staff went out of their way to find out if a certain liquor was vodka based. I enjoyed the evening, except for the rocky seas which they can't do anything about. My friend was much more critical. She paid for the dinner and so I think she had higher expectations. I would definitely go back. read more

3 Star is exactly what the name shouldn't be. I came across this activity on orbits which every time i would try to book it would give me an error. So i ended up calling orbits who directed me to the actually booking company. And man i wish i would have known what i was booking before basically giving away $300.00. At first i was excited to finally do something i wouldn't normally do, but soon after receiving the confirmation email my mind soon regretted the decision. Booking was eh since orbits didn't have much information they did what they were supposed to and got me to the right people to book. My issue is the arrival area, the parking, the directions and all the details don't come until after you give them your card info to charge you. Arriving it was ok 430 dancers come out to distract you and kill time before they start boarding like cattle. People decided to attempt and swarm the entrance regardless of who was there waiting first. The 5 star people got priory boarding and everyone else followed. ( at least from what the staff tried to accomplish) The boat itself and use some major updates. For the price I'm sure everyone is paying the interior can be way better. Food: YUCK! As we arrived welcome mai tais were being distributed. As mine was handled to me i had to point out that i was 7 months pregnant and could not par take. Our waiter (jay) immediately took it back and brought some juice instead! As we were seated salads were already at the tables and there were flies just hanging out!. The salad or lack of were basically nicely place whole lettuce leaves with two tomatoes and sesame dressing on the bottoms of the plates. Oh and a purple yam tool that looked like t had better days! After forcing myself to eat what i could dinner began to arrive. I was excited to eat, welp i first had a bite of my steamed veggies which tasted like they came frozen but whatever i got over it. The mash was bland and taste like box potatoes. The worst part was my steak and crab. First thing i did was cut my steak right did the center just looking at it i could tell it wasn't cooked all the way through. After cutting it there it was a bloody steak which i examines my plate and there was a nice puddle of blood right under my crab legs. With a river of steak blood flowing to my mash like it was gravy. I just could not take it, i requested for my plate to be redone and Jay immediately took the plate and had everything redone for me. Unfortunately while waiting for y food to finish recooking the smell of dinner was making me sick and i ended up losing my appetite! I had to get up and leave to get air from the nasty smells. The ice cream was just about the best part of the meal and that's probably the only thing they didn't have to actually make. Service- great people greet you with smiles, we were waiting in line to be seated and the host noticed my tag had special celebration reserved seating so she called it out and had me seated right away. Our waiter was amazing he made me a nonalcoholic drink. He was patient when he had to take my plate back. He attempted to make a ginger ale when he found out i was sick and he brought me ginger pills. He was sure to check with us many times and always asked how the food was. I saw he kept all his tables engaged and they always had crab ont heir plate. JAY is an amazing person he dealt with all of this with a big smile on his face never once letting any frustration show. My friend brought me for my BDay weekend, and I loved it! The Hawaiian singers / dancers / performers were all incredible! It's a full-course meal (ours included lobster and steak), two free beverages, amazing entertainment, and time to go above deck and enjoy unobstructed views of the Waikiki and Honolulu skyline! Sunset was also incredible to watch out on the water. If you go on a Friday, you also get to watch the fireworks out on the water! While we were out (late March timeframe), being whale season, we got to see several whales break surface! It was absolutely breathtaking. The staff on the boat were extremely attentive and accommodating. Definitely looking forward to trying another one of their cruises again soon! I live in Hawaii, and have been on numerous cruises (plus, having been in the Navy for ten years, I'm no foreigner to being out-to-sea), but this cruise experience was definitely one of the most memorable. I came here on the last day of my trip to Hawaii. Though it may be a little pricey if you choose the 5 star celebration plan, it's not something you do every day. There were a lot of people here celebrating their anniversaries and honeymoons, but my boyfriend took me here just to have fun on our vacation. Needless to say, we felt a little underdressed. The food and drink were delicious and had generous portions, though they were not necessarily the highlight of the experience. Watching the sunset over the horizon, with a view of downtown Honolulu in the distance with mild wind and tropical warmth made for a magical evening. Definately Snapchat and Instagram worthy. Toward the end of the cruise, the crew puts on a very classy musical performance along with mood lighting. Especially because of the private tables, this made for a very romantic setting. My family and I celebrated a lot things in Hawaii but we really enjoyed ourselves seeing the entertainers, the beautiful music, and the manager was so nice he gave my daughter a birthday cake. Service - I waited over ONE HOUR FOR A GLASS OF WATER!!!! You need more servers. They have too many tables. This is an management issue not server issue. Drinks - my Sprite was watered down or sat so long at bar the ice melted and watered down my $5 non-refill drink! The same can be said for the watered down alcoholic drinks. Food - Bland and tasteless. I did not even finish my food. Not worth the calories to consume whatever you served as 'food.' I had to go somewhere else to eat after this cruise. We booked through our concierge which was an easy process. Adults were about $70 bucks with the cost of lunch. Kiddos are free ( with one adult) for the tour but the lunch will run you $10 for the little ones. Once you arrive parking is located right across the walking path from the boat at the Aloha Market. Tip: Take your parking permit with you and they will validate your parking pass when you get your boarding passes. The parking was $24 bucks without validation and with validation it ran us $6 bucks. The lunch is buffet style. Nothing too crazy but I would say worth the cash. Checkout my photos and you'll what it's all about. Cocktails for the adults will run you about $8 bucks a piece. They will open a tab if you want. We didn't see any whales but honestly the lunch and boat trip was definitely worth the cash. Whales would have been an extra but its all good. We got our rain check so maybe next time. On a side note, we drove up towards Northshore and stopped by the blowhole scenic area and guess what we saw.....WHALES. Tones of them, we saw about 15 splashes, 2 full fledge jumps, and a tone of blowhole breathing( whatever that's called). Plus sea turtles. read more

I wish I could give this cruise negative stars! Honestly the worst dining experience I have ever had. I booked this trip through Viator for my boyfriends birthday. The boat from the outside looked nice but the inside was a completely different story. Once inside and seated at our table the carpet smelled like rancid stagnant water. We asked to move to another table. Then we realized the drink menus and the table had the same awful smell. Like someone used a stinky old rag to clean the tables. Disgusting! Then as we were served our drinks we noticed the ceiling leaking water onto the tables and into another parties drink. We told the waiter and another party even complained about it. Not a very clean atmosphere for the amount of money paid for the dinner. We were able to walk around the boat and the places where the food was being kept looked so unsanitary. We had the PSD dinner which was a buffet and it was a joke. Apparently, there are different tiers of dinner selections that you can make and I didn't have that option. I read we would have a buffet that included seafood, that was not the case. They served potato salad, chicken, some noodle pasta, salad and the nastiest fish I have ever tasted. The food was DISGUSTING. We both took a few bites of our food and left a full plate of food. Several parties around us didn't eat there food either. Seriously the most disgusting meal I have ever had. I would have rather eaten fast food! If you are looking for a nice dinner I would suggest going and spending money elsewhere. I paid $215 for both of us to eat and the service, boat, and food was far from good. It was horrible, we wanted to get off the boat so bad but where stuck on it for 3 hours! Early on a beautiful sunny Sunday my normal routine of running and washing my car was quickly taken away. It all started out like this..... "Eh get ready, you going with me." I then ask, "where we going, a Yelp Event!" "No but can make 'um one." So i quickly got ready so that I no get lickins from da kine. Was asked to drive and proceed to Pier 8, The Star of Honolulu for an early morning whale watching tour. What?!?! Really? Well i was a good sport about it and we got our name badges. We were then led onboard by the crew and was asked to take a photo which I assume is that souvenir photo you pay for at the end. As we waited on the 3rd deck for a safety brief we were offered buffet breakfast which cost $12 for adults and $9 for children. We passed only because i had Manapua from Island Manapua before getting here. We then set sail which was a plus for me since I am a sailor and actually miss being out at sea. A lil different in that im not the one catering to the guest this time. I am the guest. So once we broke from the harbor and made a left towards Diamond Head there were already sightings of whales. The captain of the boat made it towards that direction in which another pod of whales surfaced closer to us. They became our focus the next 1 1/2 hours of this tour. The naturalist explaining the behavior of the humpback whales, told us they usually stay underneath at an average of 8-15 minutes, but some whales can stay underwater for up to 45 minutes. As the tour went on, our pod of whales began to give us a show. Flapping their fins to jumping out of the water were a great sight. In the event we didn't see a whale, then a whale check would have been handed out to us which basically says to return on another date until we see a whale. Pretty cool deal. Humpback whales migrate down here in the islands from November-April. The whales come from the pacific northwest for several reasons. This was a cool Experience and would recommend to others that have not experienced this to do so. It was worth the change in my Sunday routine. BTW.... The souvenir photo costs $20 Mahalo! read more

A beautiful sunset dinner out on the water and view of city lights from the ocean when returning to shore. Different, unique experience with live music and hula performances throughout the night. Was skeptical because of the negative reviews , but ended up having a great time ! And experience ! The waitress and crew were very welcoming , we thought we were gonna miss the boat since it said check in 45min before departures but we made it around 5:10 and were able to still check in. Honolulu traffic is no joke. Definitely plan for traffic if your driving yourself there. We had our nice 3 course meal, which were all great ! Enjoyed a beautiful sunset on the boat , Definitely recommend to go on a Friday so you get the fireworks show at the end. Overall awesome experience with my wife we will alway remember. read more

My friend were visiting from korea, we wanted to have some memorable experience so we decided to do the dinner cruise for double date:) As we requested, we were seated at the same table, (even if we made reservations separately), and seated at a nice ocean view table ! Everything were perfect and nice. The only thing is that the seats are too tight.. and too close to each other. You can get kamaina discount as well. Read the entire review for a comprehensive look We have never been on a sunset dinner cruise before and this was totally last minute. Our welcome aboard was cool, nice seating area with live music. The food id rate in two separate ratings All you can eat crab was 5/5, so so yummy. But the problem is we waited probably 30 mins for the second round and were the only table with our second or third rounds. Our waiter told us it was hard to serve us bc he had a VIP table that got first dibs. Fine no big deal maybe they paid for that.. but we didn't get refills on our waters, got only four additional crab legs for second round and that was it. In fact the lady at the table next to us didn't even get a second round bc it was taking so long she got up for some photos of the views and by the time she came back they were done making crab for the night. Guess you only get all you can eat with a vip package. Bummer. All the other food options were 1/5. The salad was only okay. The bread was hard and the steaks tasted like one of those frozen Salisbury microwave meals. Super bland and rubbery. Our waiter was super cool dude, wanted to tip him but we couldn't find him when the show was over. The city views were incredible.
