I come to the ditty almost every week and i enjoy the music and the vibes are great. But Im so angry with the bartender who had a ponytail, will I believe his name is. I put my card down just to open a tab and told him not to charge it. He gave me the card back and later on gave me the bill. I paid in cash and left a 30$ tip so why on earth did I get charged 50$ 2 days later. I have tried calling multiple days and yet no one answers the phone. So now I have to resort to leaving a review. I want my money back this is not how a place of business should be ran. Taking the cash then charging the card so now I'm paying twice. Its not right. read more

A place to turn up in Astoria, the Ditty gets Litty until late night. This is one of the few true late-night spots in Ditmars. They play good music here. The sound system + acoustics mean that this is a great place for DJs and hopefully more live music in the future. read more

We were a party of 5, we were seated by the front window. It was freezing. We all ordered food, everyone's meal came out, and no one touched their food because mine took an extra 7-10 minutes to come out. We had ordered burgers and fries. The fries came out first, and sat on the table cooking while we waited several minutes for the rest. One of us orders a chicken sandwich (redneck Korean BBQ) it was raw in the middle. We had to send it back. When I explained to the server that this is not the proper way to serve food she snapped "I have no control of what comes out of the kitchen!" Really Ditty? If you plan on serving food at least serve it the right way. read more

It was a rainy Saturday night and we were looking for a bar close by to where we had dessert. Google suggested The Ditty, and after reading in the description that they have craft cocktails and board games, I was sold. It was fairly crowded but not too bad; we found seats at the end of the bar. The drink prices are fairly normal for NYC but probably somewhat high for Astoria. That being said, it's a cozy trendy bar so I wasn't expecting cheap either. Service was fast and bartender was friendly. I got the Safe Word which is very similar to a Moscow Mule. It was good but a bit more sour than I'd like. Overall, a good drink though and you get your money's worth since it was fairly strong. We played Connect Four which was a lot of fun! It's a good bar if you're in the area. I'd love to try their brunch, too! read more

Came yesterday for a bridal shower. We were placed in an enclosed outdoor space that was heated which was able to be decorated by the ladies of the bridal party. We were served pancakes, waffles, eggs, empanadas and the bridesmaids brought in Indian food, cake and cookies. Everything was good and the staff was attentive to us. read more

if I could give 0 stars I would. The bartenders at The Ditty are some of the worst bartenders I have ever encountered. All I wanted as water and the bartender refused to serve me. When you work in a bar I can understand how difficult it can be when you have a million customers in your face barking orders. However, when you have one bartender deny you water and another bartender RUDELY demand that you get out of the way, it is simply unacceptable. Especially for water - not a cocktail. These two bartenders are the biggest disappointment customer service has to offer. In New York City who denies a person WATER in a city where water is FREE. In conclusion, the bartenders here are incredible bitter and nasty. They treat customers horribly and have no basic human respect. After the entire water ordeal, I expressed my concern to one of the bartenders and I was ganged up on which is incredibly unfair. This bar has nothing to offer the city of New York. Don't waste your time. You'll just be scammed by their claw machine and disrespected by their bartenders. Do yourself a favor. read more

This is my first 5-star rating on Yelp. I stand by it. It's undeniable. This place is unreal. I recently moved to Astoria. This place was a really great introduction to Ditmars Blvd when my boyfriend and I came in to sign the lease to our new apartment. We have had top notch service, great drinks, delicious bar food, and best of all - a really cool place to hang out year round. We've been down 3 times. We kicked off trying their homemade Fireball shots -- out of control. Jalapeno infused Bourbon, cinnamon sugar and mezcal if I remember correctly. It was full of heat, SO tasty, and so much less sugary and artificial tasting the way Fireball can be. We also each had a draft beer...really nice selection...and tried the warm pretzel and buffalo cauliflower -- delicious. The pretzel and the side sauces came out warm with just the right amount of salt. The buffalo cauliflower was incredible - did not want it to end. It was cooked just right - still a bit of crunch and just the right amount of hot sauce and bleu cheese. Can't wait to explore more of their bar food menu over the next few months. We also came here with a few friends on a Saturday late afternoon for some drinks before dinner when they came in to see our new apartment. We had the best time. Not only did we share with them an amazing round of homemade fireball shots, but the bartender completely took care of us even though he was about to go off shift. We took a few decks of Uno outside with a round of beers and enjoyed the "outside" area which was amazing - perfect temperature on a day that was getting a bit chilly compared to the weather we'd been having, and they were playing all the best hip hop and r&b from the 90's. Great vibe back there. We stayed until Flattops called us across the street for burgers. Cannot say enough good things about the bartenders, ambiance, and quality of both food and drink here. Will have to also try some of the cocktails -- from other reviews they sound just as great! OH - and on Tuesdays, year round, they show a movie in their enclosed outside space on a projector. So fun. Very nice staff but they don't have any Hennessy, Patron, Brandy, Dusse, or like up to date liquor yet they have a full bar. They have old school board games as well as a gaming system which was very cool. You can play duck hunt or super Mario brothers while vibing to the pleasant music. Kitchen stays open late! One of my favorite neighborhood spots due to the board games. (Although I'd request they replace scrabble). I normally only come for drinks at night. Really great service and the snacks are great with a drink. Decided to check out their brunch and wasn't disappointed. We got a deep fried poached egg wrapped in chorizo and a chicken and waffles sandwich, with a biscuit with bourbon butter that was on point. Food was great. Good service. A refreshing start to the night. Ordered a bite as well. I had the burger, The Juicy Lucy w/ bacon. A tad sloppy, but delicious. The bun could only do so much when faced with the pressure of the patty stuffed with cheese and a generous portion of bacon. The Old Bay fries were a perfect compliment. I washed down this salty deliciousness with a $5 Miller High Life. My better half went with the shrimp tacos which she seemed "meh" about. We then had some after dinner cocktails which were all legit. The music they were playing had me in a mood to linger. Think Otis Redding, Sam Cook type of vibe. My friends and I chose The Ditty for Saturday drinks last night because its within walking distance of our respective apartments, and well frankly we didn't feel like schlepping all the way into the village. Typical drink prices; the layout is great. Great use of space for a typically sized NYC bar. Bartenders are super friendly, and chatty. The clientele is super cute. The best part is the old school board games they provide. You know the ones we all played as kids. I have been here twice now. Once at happy hour and they have a great happy hour but it was a little quiet. This latest visit I went on a busy Friday night prime bar time. The place was busy but still room to sit and get food and a beer. I had a pulled pork sandwich with some great French fries with what seemed like a Cajun salt on them. Both delicious. My friend had shrimp tacos also very good. The atmosphere was great. We stayed for a couple of hours and watched the patrons change over several times. Seemed like a bit of a spot where people drop in for a cocktail and move on but not for us. The prices were great. Food for two and drinks for 3 hours with a tab of only $50 each is pretty good. The server was great and as the night got later the place got busier and busier. Some cool things to note - kitchen is open until 4am & they have a small garden if you like to be outside. We yelped this place whilst on our spur of the moment bar-hopping venture! They were able to seat our fairly large group (all 9 of us) outdoors. The waitress was very patient with our half-tipsied group (thank you and sorry!) Their outdoor area has a covered ceiling and it was kept at moderate room temperature (which we appreciated so much because it was chilly outside). We ordered the fries and a few burgers (which were comparatively smaller than those at other food joints). Overall, we had a great night! The kitchen is open late and offers unique bar fare, the Redneck Korean fried chicken sandwich is something that you must try if you are hungry. Been to this bar before, seemed to be a cool scene. Tonight came by with two girlfriends, we were ushered in to the corridor by the door man faster than we could take our IDs out. When our IDs were not in hand the bouncer was immediately yelling, rude and told my friend that the person in front "should have a personality". We immediately turned around and lost complete interest in entering. Dear bouncer, the clientele of the establishment in which you are employed are not there to entertain you. To the contrary, your role is to provide a service and and experience to the guest. We are Astoria residents and have never been treated this way. I would say the vibe was more inviting than some of the staff, which made this into a good experience. **only for drinks** Love that this venue finally opened. The decor is rustic yet offers a cozy feeing. The space is fairly small and narrow so it could feel more crowded than it actually is.. They support local breweries, offering over a handful of drafts and some bottled/canned beers. They only have a handful of signature cocktails but they all sound pretty good, covering standard liquors from gin to whiskey. I tried the Game Time Gimlet (gin, lime, grapefruit ) and it was delicious. The bartenders were both Irish (who wouldn't love that) and they're super friendly. The kitchen is open until they close and they offer standard bar eats from pretzels to a fried chicken basket. I haven't had their food yet but I'm looking forward to trying it soon. read more

We threw a bridal shower here and it was absolutely amazing! Sam, the manager was so helpful in planning everything. She was very responsive and accommodating. The back portion of the restaurant can accommodate up to 60 people within a party. We had 45 people and it was very comfortable. The food was very good and the prices were very reasonable! This place is awesome. Not only is the inside really cozy and filled with fun board games and old school Nintendo, but they also have the one of the best outdoor spaces I've ever seen. You can hang out there even in the winter because it's enclosed and filled with heat lamps. And they show movies on their giant screen which I absolutely loved. We watched Star Wars and Rocky while we were there. They also have movie nights every Tuesday. The service is so good too; our waiter was really friendly and attentive. This is just a great place to hang out. read more
