Had a fabulous time here. I came here on a rainy saturday night. I was delighted there were two seats at the bar next to the DJ. One of the bartenders is from a TV show I'll let you figure out for yourself. The dj was spinning some good music this night as well. He was super friendly and I didnt realize he used to dj at irish exit. What a full circle because I used to go to that place back in the day. :::bathroom:: The bathroom is clean, thankfully. I was pretty pleased. I was excited that we got two free hot dogs. I love that I didn't get sick eating the hot dogs. I have no idea how cheap they can keep their beers. The inside is giving coney island vibes. The cost of our drinks were pretty good too we definitely drank like $100 worth of booze but it came out to $60, that didn't break the bank. I was super surprised to see they had a backyard too! I definitely need to come back to check it out. The cost of the N/A beers were good too. Nothing seemed to be over $12, very pleased by this. This little dive bar has an awesome $5 happy hour every day from 4 - 7pm. The bartenders were super friendly, and the drinks were standard, but at that price, it's a great deal. They do not serve food, but they allow you to bring in food. Overall a great place to stop in for a drink for happy hour! They also serve popcorn, though I'm not sure how to get it. Not a fan of this bar at all. The bartender ignored me when I asked to be served. I came here for a Tikkun BBQ event and the only good part of this experience was that the burger which were ordered outside were served by Tikkun and were hot a fresh. Madam Marie's is a classy dive bar with a great happy hour ($5 select drafts and well drinks, sublime). I like to play a few songs on the TouchTunes whenever I visit, though last time I came round there were over 200 songs in the queue! How does that even happen?? Bartenders are great. Friday evening, this bar had a few lively groups both indoors and outside, but plenty of seating at the bar. Decent sized list of both beer and cocktails with an open air setup on the warm summer days. Beers range from $4-10 depending on type and variety. Generous pours are always a plus, as well as the large-format beers available for purchase. There seems to be hot dogs for sale as well, though didn't see a menu around that addressed the fact. TVs up top for anyone to watch the game and a jukebox for those looking to belt out a song. Back during COVID protocols, there was a lot of separation and crowd control. Just happened to walk by Madam Marie's yesterday and their signage thankfully caught my eye. It was quite the warm day outside and they were offering frozen ice pops that were both boozy and flavored like popular drinks. I ordered the Orange Creamsicle and the Whiskey Cola versions. Both were quite tasty and cheap to boot. Definitely a solid option on hot spring/summer day. They also gave me a bag of free popcorn to go with my "drinks" so I was certainly a happy camper. This bar is top notch. They've got a fantastic happy hour deal, which is what got us in the door. We had dinner reservations elsewhere in the neighborhood that we kept putting off, simply so we could stay here longer! And when that dinner ended up being not so great, we wondered why we even left this lovely Madam. Any 16 oz. beer is 5 bucks, plus there's offerings of both wine and well drinks. Apparently you can get hot dogs with a drink, but I honestly wasn't sure how to go about getting one, so I didn't ask. But I'm going to ask next time, for sure! Huge plus: the bar itself was all taken up, no seats, so we grabbed a table against the wall. The bartender went out of his way to acknowledge us and handed us drink menus. That small gesture meant a lot for us, since I can't tell you how many times bartenders have straight up ignored me/us for other patrons (cough Studio Square cough), and this was a sign of a great bartender and a resulting great time. Perfect Saturday night!!! This place was so cool!! Beautiful decor, insanely friendly staff and an awesome selection of drinks. It was such a fun vibe and the perfect place to go out for a friends birthday. Even though it was packed there was still plenty of room to walk around and hang out and this is the first bar in my life where the bartenders didn't make anyone wait at all for a drink. The second I stood up for a refill, they were ready. The other staff members were on top of cleanliness and organization and even with 80 people there, everything was very clean. The bartenders are awesome and remember everybody, they now host Drag Queen Bingo on Tuesdays and Trivia on Wednesdays, the happy hour deal is hard to beat, and the people there are nice. Although this is their soft opening, until 1/9, they might as well as been fully open when it came to the friendly service and extensive watering hole options it seemed as though they have been open for years! The bartenders and owner have it all under wrap. From the fully loaded draft selections, endless can options, wine, and cocktails (coming soon...) Marie's is ready to ROCK AND ROLL. I am a happy hour junkie so I was super excited to come here based on my prior research and stalking of reviews. Design wise- it's a cute dive bar but with lots of personality. There is a beautiful mural and apparently it's designed after Coney Island park. I'm into it! They have trivia on Tuesdays and on the weekends it gets super super packed. Anyways, the reason why I am giving five stars is because of David. All the reviews speak highly of him- and it's for a reason. He is super attentive, nice, quick and just overall an awesome bartender. As soon as he stepped onto the scene, my skin was clear and all my debt was wiped away. Okay I'm being hyperbolic but pretty much what I'm trying to say is all bartenders should be like him. He definitely carries this bar on his back haha. I sat at the bar and I observed the way he worked, the guy is good! He can juggle multiple people at once. Everyone loved him and all shook his hand. Made our experience for sure. Overall, the prices here are insane. You can get a beer that's 16 oz and a shot for only 10 bucks. Also their beers during happy hour are either $4 or $5 dollars. Their wine is $8 and mixed drinks are also under $9. This is an awesome pregame spot in the heart of Astoria. It's also a good place to go for the night as well. The crowd is mid 20 to 30s. No douche bags in site. It's pretty casual so You can wear anytninf you ALSO, you get free hot dogs with your happy hour drink. Who does that?!!!!! No one. That was a special treat! I'm disgusted by the fact that this anti-gay establishment is still in business in a very liberal and open minded community like Astoria. Last night I was sitting at the bar grabbing some drinks with a friend. A group behind us passive aggressively tried to get us to move (as they wanted a seat at the bar). After ignoring the multiple attempts and trying to brush it aside without causing a scene, my friend and I decided the bar was getting a little too loud and that we would go somewhere else. As we were leaving, a gay slur was used on my friend by the girl in the group, to which he stopped and said to the girl VERY calmly "You know you don't have to be rude about wanting a seat at the bar". Suddenly a drink was thrown at him, a bunch of guys crowded around him, telling us to "calm down and back off", while we were being forcefully removed from the bar by the bouncer. Confused, appalled, angry... I was SHOCKED that this happened, all within a minute. The bartender who was helping us the entire night came out and asked what happened. When we explained to him the situation, all he said was "Well that's not what I saw, so sorry you'll need to leave". In fact, he was laughing and thought the entire situation was funny. I always thought this bar was a great place to grab a quick drink in the area, but we will no longer be patronizing this bar, as I can't imagine how an establishment could let something like this occur. read more

My new spot in Astoria. Perfect distance from the R train with a really cool staff of bartenders whipping up them dranks. They make some valid cocktails and have plenty of brews for all your needs. They even have super cheap cans of beer deals for all the hipsters out there. The music has been on point every time I go in, and they have a jukebox if you wanna try your hand at the DJ skills. Broadway continues to get better and add more bars/restaurants. This carnival style spot is a great one for bar hopping around Astoria or staying all night. read more

Looking for a hopping bar with a cool old school "east village" vibe? look no further than Broadway Astoria's Madam Marie's. Yes, this bear's coat is getting some serious silver to it, but the hip younger staff and clientele make me and Joseph feel at home every time. Always a fun time, this bar was even able to provide a fun vibe during the dark covid times! The bar tenders are friendly and attentive (theres a husky bartender not there as often who is my fav!) and theres always music playing, usually some late 90s and 2000s pop punk thank you very much, although some 80s/90s alternative tunes from the Pixies or Dinosaur Jr would rock too (hint hint lol) Good mixed drinks, good selection of beers, and wine too. Joe is always happy with a nice dark cabernet even in June lol, and I like to go with one of their mixed whiskey house specials. I'd like to see a little more PRIDE vibe there guys! thats my one complaint. Jack things up a bit for the rainbow crowd! They have a nice selection of draught, can, and bottle beers. Ranging from craft to national brands. They have all of your favorite cocktail concoctions and a house cocktail menu coming soon. Happy Hour (4pm-8pm) you'll have the opportunity to enjoy a compliantly hot dog(prob all beef and def kosher...maybe to both) with every bev purchase. Really cool new bar in Astoria. The theme of Coney Island carnival in itself is awesome. So many fun decorations and bar games. But the happy hour deals and their craft beer selection is outstanding. Wait for it - Monday - Friday 4-8pm - $5 16oz beers, wine, well drinks PLUS free hotdogs with every beer purchase! Also, weekend happy hours from 2-8pm. No one does weekend happy hours anymore and this makes me very happy. Plus, they feed you. Hotdog was pretty decent (better than Rudy's). Beer I had was Common Roots Coffee Up Imperial Stout. Never heard of it before but it was fantastic. Just popped in on my way to somewhere else with a friend because she lives nearby. This bar from start to finish is a piece of art. Unbeatable happy hour deal! Their well Drinks are pretty nice and you get a beer & shot deal as well. If you get there for happy hour-you have already scored! You get a free hotdog! The wall decor is off the hook and look out for the taxidermy they have in there. Trying to spot them can turn out into a pretty fun game. Overall I was really impressed by this place. They do their drinks really well and prices are fair. The back patio is great and wasn't busy both times I went (on a Sunday PM and then on a week day). Pretty cool to hang out with friends! I will definitely return as long as weather allows - I believe they will be closing for the winter so I really want to support until then! read more

Madame Marie's is a great little bar that recently opened in Astoria. Seems like it's still trying to figure out its niche in this neighborhood but definitely has a fun and funky vibe. They have a decent beer selection, a good amount of seating at the bar and tables plus a little room for dancing if it's not too crowded. They also have a juke box, well a new high tech one, which people were taking advantage of. So the music was varied and fun. I've been wanting to come here for some time and finally I got the chance to stop by! I love all their décor. You can tell that they spent a lot of time trying to get those pieces to make the theme flow throughout the bar without it being too overly done. Came here on a Wednesday night around 6:30pm. It was slightly packed. All tables and chairs at the bar were occupied. I was very surprised. Found out there's trivia at 8pm that night. This place has amazing happy hour specials. $5 draft beers. Great price considering they also give you free hotdogs. The hotdogs were decent, a little salter than I'm used to. But hey, it's free. I'm not complaining. Even though the bar was slightly packed, there was still plenty of standing room and plenty of space between the bar and the table counters to the side. And the bartender never left anyone hanging for a long period of time waiting to order. There's no TVs here so don't plan to watch any sports channels. Good beer selection, absolutely awful service. Went there the other night, one bartender (short guy, tattoos on his arm) in particular was extremely rude and unprofessional. I ordered a can of beer from him which was supposed to be $4, he proceeds to pour a draft instead and when I told him I wanted a can he tells me they are out and what is he supposed to do, pour out the beer? I thought that was very rude unprofessional. I ended up having to pay for the beer which I didn't even want in the first place. Came to Madam Marie's last night with some friends to celebrate a birthday and we had a great time. They happened to be doing a small business Christmas market, which was super cute! I had never been to this bar before so when we walked in and so all of these booths set up, I thought that was part of this bar, half shopping half bar, which I thought was cool! Turns out, it is not the norm, just a Christmas market for that day. Anywhoo, we came in around 3 or so and they had Happy Hour specials, $5 wines and beers, which was great! I drank prosecco the majority of the night and bartenders were cool, attentive and friendly. If you've been to Asbury Park, NJ and Coney Island you'll recognize the bar's theme which is a mix of both. Brought back memories of Asbury! The decor behind the bar was nice too.
