It has been just over two months since my sweet, sweet, super loved pup crossed the rainbow bridge. I am not at all ready for another little love. I thought I could go see some to prepare myself for when I am ready. The Dog House in Manchester is a puppy store. They have a large inventory of the cutest, little puppies. They are actual babies at only 3-4 months of age. These puppies came from certified breeders. They claim all puppies come ready to go, with up to date vaccinations. As soon as I walked inside The Dog House I was greeted by hundreds of super fluffy and super noisy puppies. The lady named Iris handed me a puppy to play with, long before I asked for one. They are all so very precious and little. Some are more timid and others are spitfires of energy. It made me sad to see their water bowls were totally dry. My pup was drinking water till his very last days. I can't guarantee they are treated well. I would love to home all of these babies. Not this time for me. read more

I recently had a gorgeous German Shepherd re-homed to me that was purchased as a pup at The Dog House. He is currently 15 months with absolutely no issues whatsoever. Though I personally did not go to this facility, I went to the home where the dog lived to adopt him, the family could no longer keep him. But he sure is a beauty with no medical issues and I have him in training. read more

Oh my God. Today is Saturday, February 7, 2026. My husband and I walked into this heartbreaking NIGHTMARE of a place tonight, around 6pm. We made a mistake, thinking this was the place next door, the dog rescue called "Save All Dogs Rescue". Nope. No "rescue" here. First, we saw the staff member, an older woman with salt & pepper hair. She didn't bother to greet us, so I TRIED to greet her. No hello, no welcome...she only snapped, "I wasn't ready to let any dogs out to be seen." Ummm, okay. But there was still a whole hour to go, so that confused us. But we instantly saw a puppy...a beautiful, gorgeous rottweiler baby that they called "Hannah." I asked if we could see Hannah, and I watched as this woman walked over to Hannah's "cage", opened the door, and tried pulling the puppy out. But Hannah backed into a corner of the cage, trying not to be picked up by this woman. The woman finally grabbed her, and snapped again at my husband and I took "go in there with her", which was a small cubicle area. Poor little Hannah. She came from Indiana, taken from her mother & litter mates, had her tail locked, and was brought to this puppy mill. Her cage had nothing soft for her to lie down on....just a wire cage. While my husband and I were holding Hannah in the cubicle area, she was shaking like a leaf and her heart was pounding. We talked to her, held her, kissed her, and we finally felt her relax in our arms. We asked how much she was, and we watched the woman, who was on a wireless phone, talking with someone. She came over to us and said, "You don't want to even know the price" and I said, "Why? How much is she?" And we were told $3,000.00. Now this (again), was AFTER the woman was talking with someone on the phone, basically bartering. When we said that was a little higher than we were expecting to pay, she said, "2,500." Now, my husband and I had paid 3500.00 for our 4 year old golden retriever before, but she was healthy and in a good place. This place, however, was a nightmare. So once we said the price was a little higher than we planned on spending, the woman took Hannah from us and put her back into her cold, small, wire cage. My heart broke. The woman THEN handed us a beautiful little beagle boy, and said without us even asking, "1,000." When I said, "Can we buy Hannah instead for 1,000?" She said no. When I asked why not, she said, "Because THAT dog (meaning Hannah), is too high in demand." So we got it. We got that this place could care LESS about the animals they have there. We got that this place is ONLY concerned about the mighty dollar. We got that this place had a bunch of sad, scared puppies, including our little Hannah, and that all this place cares about are dollar signs. We also got that the puppies are petrified, and instead of being kept in warm, soft crates, they are instead kept in those cold, wire cages, all alone. I can't afford 3,000.00 right now, and I couldn't believe it when the woman tried to barter with me. This is a LIFE. These poor babies aren't healthy OR happy. The whole place was heartbreaking. I want Hannah, but I can't afford Hannah right now. So instead of her falling asleep in my arms tonight, she is stuck in that nightmarish place. I am so, so sorry that I ever stepped foot in there. My heart is broken for all of those puppies and for Hannah. This place needs to be shut DOWN, ASAP!!!! These puppies deserve so much better. They didn't ask for this. I am heartbroken and want to save every one of those poor puppies, and I want Hannah. Connecticut HAS to PLEASE go check that place out and shut them down. Please. I wish I never walked into this place. My heart breaks for this little English bulldog. She clearly has an issue with her paw and gait. The dog either has a splayed foot from malnutrition, poor quality/tiny living conditions and has had very little care. She clearly is covered in a yeast infection that a fungal bath and Mal-a-ket wipes would solve. But her splayed foot, limping and tiny frame for a twelve week puppy is SO inexcusable. (Website is far from accurate, had to ask multiple times for paperwork to see she was much older than advertised). Sadly, it's not her age but the condition of this hellhole and the puppy that breaks my heart. I couldn't in good conscience give a cent to a place like this. If you aren't driven away from the smell as you approach this building... read the reviews of the quality of life for these dogs before and after purchase... I truly wish that I read the reviews. You aren't rescuing them, you're keeping this awful business open and simply allowing them to treat these defenseless puppies like this. Note: She was one of several dogs we spent time with. Given the amount of genetic defects and issues that come with English bulldogs we gave this place the benefit of the doubt. But after talking to the "masked up" lady (as she is referred to in other posts) she clearly is gaslighting. When asked about this little girl, everything was A-okay and normal. She believes the pup is just a, "dopey, big pawed bulldog tripping over its own feet". FYI- a single splayed foot is not an oversized paw. A clearly affected gait with limp does not a "dopey" dog make. Those comments are just that of a thoughtless caretaker. Reading the defensive but defenseless responses from the owner to other feedback, I know I made the right decision. Be weary of this place. read more

We got a puppy one day, and within 2 days of bringing him home we had to bring him to puppy ICU. He had severe kennel cough pneumonia, and we were told had a clean bill of health upon leaving the Dog House. There is no way it could have developed in 2 days, according to the doctors. How they could send home a puppy, and work with known puppy mills, is just beyond me. read more

My mom bought a puppy. As soon as she brought puppy home ? She noticed that night something was wrong. Long story short. The next day she had to take the puppy to The Emergency Veterinary Hospital. Puppy was diagnosed with Kennel cough. Extreme kennel cough. The puppy has been having other health problems as well. Please do NOT go into this pet shop. I don't know who's the veterinarian who's signing off on these animals but for sure it's a scam to sell these poor sick animals. Dogs advertised as "available" on their website are completely fictitious. When several female Aussies appeared we rushed right over and there were none anywhere to be seen. The young man working there pulled the "oh that one just went home", but he had no idea what it looked like, and knew nothing about the others that were supposed to be there. When it became obvious the website and their available "puppies" had nothing in common, he simply stopped answering questions. Always come here to check out what puppies and dogs they have available. Today however, they had 1 lab/retriever left until their shipment Friday. We asked if we were able to take it out (as we have before-even with the pandemic). Young male who I haven't seen before was very polite and very good at his job. A new lady, supposedly from Springfield; however, seems like she wants to nothing to do with helping anyone who comes in. Shut down all questions we asked, and told us if we took out the dog that was left, she would catch corona virus. I went in to look for a dog . these poor animals . the smell as I went in was not so good . Ive been in several shelters that do not share this odor . a few of the puppies looked listless . I did take note that most of the puppies did not have water bowls . the 2 larger glassed in kennels had water bowls , but no water . the very small dogs were laying on top of each other on square pads so that their feet wouldn't slip into the grates that were too big for their small paws . I left there with a heavy heart . I get that they may be understaffed , but overall it was reminiscent of a puppy mill situation . If I could give this place 0/5 stars if I could. This place is absolute trash! I got a dog here and paid $1,400 for him. Upon his first vet trip after getting him, only 3 days later, we learned he was in HORRIBLE condition. He has demodectic mange, causing hair loss around the eyes, all shots were provided too early so he'll need them again (which once I called this company they were implement aware of but failed to tell me that, only saying all dogs have all their shots!) and he was so poorly bred that his back end will completely fail him and they only give this 4 month old puppy 4 years to live! I immediately called the dog house explaining all of this information and they told me they were already aware, and that the dog I picked out (a German Shepherd) wasn't meant to live long. We go to return him upon learning all of this information, plus the fact they were already aware of his situation, and they refuse to take him! This place is absolutely horrible. So an update on my puppy situation. They finally took him back after a note from our vet. The next day they called warming us they're giving him x-rays and if nothing shows up we have to come take him back even though we've already returned him, as if this situation hasn't been hard enough to deal with. I went dog shopping in August. There was a wonderful young lady who assisted me on the 16th. I paid my deposit for a beautiful Pomeranian. I returned there 2 days later as she requested to pick up my pup. I was greeted by a horrible woman who while i was waiting at the door shooed me away when I was simply waiting to address the young woman who processed my transaction. This women further went on to tell me i could not pick my dog up until Sunday, after its vet visit. This is questionable because if the vet only works Mon-Fri why would i have to wait until Sunday for pick up??? Further when i called back for the owner, this woman said she would give him/her the message but i am certain she did not. This woman is in her mid 30s to 40s. I will say i believe her actions were racially motivated and i will tell you when i purchased my Puggle from this same store it was a wonderful experience. Needless to say I never heard from the owner and all messages went unanswered. Think twice before purchasing from this store. We dont want to support people who dont treat everyone equally. Finally, I will say that i paid cash $2000 more for a dog from the Puppy Playhouse....Why.... Simply they treated me with dignity read more

I had a friend who bought all his dogs from The Dog House and I mentioned to him that my husband and I were looking for a black lab puppy. He called me 2 days later and said he was there when they had brought in 3 black lab pups. I went down there that day There were 3 black lab pups and I fell in love with the boy lab. I played with him and bought him on the spot. I asked the staff to hold him until the next day b/c I wanted to surprise my kids. The Dog House called me the next day to help with my surprise and asked what time I would be there to pick up the pup so they could have him bathed and ready to go. They were great. I've heard all the bad comments about puppy mills and this place in general but our dog is awesome. No health issues and he's almost 4. At the last checkup- the vet kept commenting about what a good looking dog he was. They asked where I got him. I told them. So I've been meaning to write a review for awhile in regards to the 2 pups my family got from here. Honestly before 2018 I had never stepped foot inside but as a surprise trip my boyfriend brought our family here after lunch one day. That's how Match became a part of our family. Funny thing is that I always said I would never own another bichon after having one from a reputable breeder as a kid who turned out later in life to have diabetes, kidney disease, dementia, a personality disorder, and was blind/deaf. Just like kids/people you can't predict their health future so I've learned to take everything with a grain of salt. Anyways we brought Match Monster home that day and the next day he had a vet appointment. He was diagnosed with giardia and kennel cough, was never really symptomatic per say, finished his treatment and has been the picture of health since *knock on wood.* Other than being a little "extra fluffy," but he loves puppy munchkins from DD. Snowley girl joined our family less than a year later. Her story is a little different. She was pretty sick when we found her. She had a slight cough but was noticeably very small and the worker that helped stated she just didn't want to eat for them. We put a deposit down and waited week after week to be told we could finally bring her home. Those 3 weeks we didn't have her she was put in isolation and we couldn't see her. The third week I advocated for her saying if she's not getting better there then she should be allowed home to see how she does. Well they let us foster her for a week and she thrived. She just needed lots of love and cuddles. She also had giardia and kennel cough which is common amongst puppies. She was treated and those resolved. She did have some eating issues that involved her vomiting almost daily but after a full exam and a couple of diet changes she is so much better. I didn't give 5 stars because the one thing I did not like was that they didn't let us take Snowley girl home sooner and she lost 3 weeks of any real socialization. Match was completely up to date on shots so I wasn't worried about him getting sick and he didn't. She also has a fear of men so I can't tell if somewhere in her early days she was mishandled by a man or if it's just the typical bichon anxiety (and yes this breed has a lot of that). Anyways 2 very well loved pups. Snowley is the sweetest little kiss filled pup when she learns to trust you and Match thinks everyone is his best friend especially if you like to sleep and eat. read more

My husband and I just purchased our very first puppy from here. I went in and fell in love with our little Dachshund at first sight(I'm an avid cat lover). He is calm and sweet. When I was there and decided to get him the first woman I dealt with wasn't the most pleasant but she let me hold him and a lot of the other staff came to check on him with us and seemed to love all the dogs. I'm not familiar with puppy mills or how bad pet stores are but this place was placing rescue dogs and the puppies were expensive. But as someone who loves children and animals I don't understand how you DONT want to save an animal puppy or adult rescue if you think this place is so awful. I'd rather a dog die under my love and care then alone in a cage. None the less a woman name Heidi helped the following day as my husband and I rushed in in a panic after reading all the awful reviews. She had us sanitize our hands and showed me all of his information and vaccinations. It has been two weeks since we got Bruce and he has been cleared by a wonderful vet with no genetic or other illnesses. He is growing fast and almost completely house trained! He is wonderful with all the children I take care of (babies and toddlers) and thinks he is a very big dog. Sleeps through the night and we couldn't be happier. If you fall in love, don't walk away because of bad reviews. Save an animal and give them your love!! We had a wonderful experience and he is the best spur of the moment decision EVER!! Workers in the Guitar Center that is next door to them, have heard them using bull horns to quiet the puppies down from barking! USDA breeders doesn't mean a thing.......they are puppy mills. If you read what 'breeder' they come from....Google the name and it will come up with all kinds of pictures and comments. When I worked for a veterinarian, this place brought in puppy after puppy with Parvo and life threatening disease. Also we saw many dogs die from pneumonia from the Dog House! No good breeder would every sell their puppies to puppy mills. This place had been on the news numerous because the state closed them down while they cleaned up the Parvo many puppies had. Think before buying from this place! Rescue from a legit rescue and not from here. A coworker of my wife told her she had bought 2 dogs here for around 5 or 6 hundred dollars each so we decided to check it out. We were able to overlook the sad condition of this place because they had some very cute dogs. My wife feel in love with a boxer mix puppy which we decided to adopt. What killed the deal was the $2700 price tag for the dog. She wasn't spayed and she wasn't chipped. She is a mixed breed dog. I've priced out pure bred dogs with papers for less than that. My advice. Don't buy here, I did and while I wish I never walked in, they do buy from PUPPY MILLS, check the breeder with the USDA?, and yes I did buy a pup from them, I rescued him from this place, yup way over priced, Government report on this breeder stated 217 dogs in a barn with no heat, and also state it was close to being a puppy mill, they lost there Government license to sell. As for there rescue dogs, they too come from PUPPY mills. BE AWARE VERY AWARE, a lot of the positives for this place come from family and employees, also the owner was SHUT DOWN IN MASSACHUSETTS, and put out of business by the state, as for the care they didn't even know that my pup had Giardia until I told them in which I was called a liar by the "so called vet tech on duty", I showed the report, and was told it was false, I had my VET run his poop, which is in no way affiliated with this place, it then turned into more problems with them, and the vet total idiot, they use a Vet with no morals, if they can't see the conditions these dogs are in. But now my pup is doing great and living a BLESSED life in my home with his big brother, both very spoiled. If your looking to rescue a dog check local shelters, and take comfort in knowing that the dog/cat will be healthier, and you will be told of any medical conditions. I have read these "good reviews" and it's obviously written by family or friends, if they truly think this place is good. I don't really know where to start. My husband stopped in to the dog house one Sunday night just to look. We ended up playing with brother and sister Boston Terriers. In all honesty, my husband and I weren't looking for a new dog. We have children, and we both knew we already had our hands full. As we played with these beautiful puppies we began chatting about what we would name them. We really had a great time. When it was time to put the puppies away, Iris called for them to come out of the area we were in. That's when the male puppy sat right down between my feet and rested his head on my shoe. Now, I've always heard that a dog will choose it's person but, I've never been able to really experience it or see it for my self. My husband and I chatted a few after the puppies were put away. I was in love I needed to go home with that dog! Iris was great in explaining how the funding program worked, and what we would need to do if we we're serious about taking home a dog. And believe we we're. The very next morning we we're able to take him home. ( I named him Bruce) Fast forward 2 months later and here we are I have a happy healthy puppy! I read all sorts of reviews about The dog house before that morning I physically paid for Bruce. Here's what I've learned: so many people are so quick to post a negative review that the positive ones get lost in the shuffle. No, pet place is perfect. There's usually 18-30+ pets to a small amount of staff trying to not only please customers but clean up after pets. I can only speak to my experience which, was positive on every level. read more

This place is disgusting. We applied to rescue a dog. Upon our visitation with the dog we noticed her genitals were covered in green discharge. Filled out an application. I was told it would be about a week to see the results for her to see a vet. They then denied our application and could not give a reason why. We have a fully gated large yard, 4 hours of alone time for the dog, a house, and solo dog. We were informed this pup had been in a cage since she was born and had elbow problems from not being out of a cage since birth. Can't help but think with the low ratings and discount on older dogs that these poor dogs are just moved to the rescue side when they hit 20 weeks. The junkies working on the puppy side that can barely keep their eyes open and have shades on with their hoodie up are also concerning. read more

The fact that this place is still open and operating a rescue on the side is disgusting. We went in knowing that this place was busted for selling sick dogs years ago, so we wanted to see if anything changed. NOPE!! Immediately upon entering we were hit with a smell of unwashed dogs and fecal matter. There was no flow of clean breathable air unless you entered the front door. We were shown a few dogs by a female employee wearing a mask who didn't seem overly open about answering our questions. We chose a dog to look at and immediately knew the puppy was sick. The puppy was very lethargic and barely responsive.Not only that the male employee was screaming at the dogs in back while we were asking questions. When we did reach out to touch the puppy it recoiled as if it was being abused. 2 out of 3 of the dogs on sale had dirty fur. And we were quoted over $6300 for a dog that was " done with antibiotics" but that answer kept changing. I was not given a firm price and the "rarity of the breed" kept changing. In reality I am glad we came here first just so we could confirm what places NOT to do business with. Where is PETA and the SPCA when you need them? Oh right, thats my next call. SMH read more

Still waiting for my Daughter too be reimbursed $2500 in vet fees (maximum that The Dog House will reimburse). She purchased a 10wk old puppy who was extremely sick! She ended up spending close too $5000 too save the poor puppies life. The owner who thinks she knows everything WITHOUT clearly looking at the paperwork; tried blaming it on my Daughter. She tried too say that the puppy was in my Daughters care for over 2 days...WRONG! She was in my Daughters care for LESS THAN 17hrs before she was brought to the EMERGENCY VET & admitted into ICU. The puppy was then READMITTED less than a week later for aspiration pneumonia that they questioned at the FIRST hospitalization! Clearly reading a hospital bill from a veterinarian would be a good start for this owner! read more

We got a wonderful Jack Russell terrier years ago but he was sick with pneumonia when we brought him home at six weeks old and we nursed him to health. Other than that, the dog was a purebred and a beauty and good natured. Sadly when we had to move across country a few years later and did not have a place to take him, we posted an ad (but posted a really high price not really going g to sell him) and someone called from the russell rescue misrepresenting herself and suggesting we put the dog in foster care. Even though i was the registered owner my ex brought him in and they sold him to one of their " volunteers " and would not give him back. I dont recommend either this place or the alleged " rescue ". Our vet says they get that from drinking water with feces in it they do not care and they did nothing about it when I confronted them. I still hate that I gave them business. She's only 5 and has TERRIBLE health problems. Ear infections EVERY SINGLE MONTH as well as early onset glaucoma. Also even though I LOVE that she's calico, cocker spaniels do not breed into a mix of colors unless there's generations and generations of inbreeding (exactly what they do at mills) also. Went to look at a dog. The dogs were clearly sick. One dog (a beagle) had a large gash across her head. Another (maybe a lab) had "cherry eyes." A dirty and incredibly disrespectful place to buy a dog. They sold our dog to someone else less than 3 hours after our approval for financing. We didn't have time to come in that same day, so we lose.This place is not about creating families, it's a mill bent on cranking out as many animals as possible to the first person to sign the papers. We arrived on a Sunday a few hours before close and found a husky we liked. We were prompted several times about "applying for financing" so we decided to go for it on the store computer. They explained we would recieve an email if we were approved. Then I saw, written right on the screen, that the STORE would be notified of our approval... not us... and the store will then reach out to tell us. I pointed this out, and I also pointed out two tabs at the top of the screen labeled "accepted" and "rejected". It looked to me like the process was instant. I get instant notification for online credit applications, why not this? But the staff simply repeated "you'll get an email if you're approved". The next morning (Monday) we had no emails. I waited until 4:30pm for an email, and found nothing. So I called and asked for an update. They explained we were approved for financing, they've been "holding the dog" for us and we "didn't leave our phone number" so they couldn't contact us. They claim this despite our application with not one, but TWO phone numbers, a home address and an email on it. So during my call I find out we are approved for financing. Since I was not the one to apply, I am unable to sign for it. The one who applied would be out of work at 7pm, which is also the time that they close. So at 7pm I recieve a voicemail stating they are accepting a deposit tomorrow morning (at 8am before they even open) and my dog will be sold. I IMMEDIATELY called back, but conveniently because she called me at CLOSING TIME instead of an hour or 30 minutes prior, I have no ability to contact her back; they won't pick up. I had 3 hours from the time I was told about financing approval to get this dog... And all less than 24 hours from us first walking into the store. What kind of place would sell your dog out from under you? I'm absolutely disgusted by the way they wasted our time. Ok so I would NEVER buy a dog from here but we came here for over a year for daycare for our little french bulldog. I never had a problem with the daycare. The hours were awesome since I go to work very early. You can drop your puppy off at 6:30am and pick up as late as 8:30pm but I never left her there past 5ish. The dog area was always clean when we went and the staff was quite friendly...mostly young kids working there but they all loved my little girl so I felt comfortable trusting them. During the entire time she was there she only got sick once with a GI bug that lasted 3 days. Not bad considering kids that go to daycare get sick much more often. I am sure there are nicer doggie daycares out there, but when you need one with long hours and convinient location, I would use the dog house. Now in terms of purchasing a dog here....run away!!!! They knew we wanted a second french bulldog and they actually had one come in for sale and the poor puppy was a mess. He was far from breed standard..and obviously not from a loving home like ours was. The asking price was also outrageous. A fair price given it was far from the breed standard would be 1/4th of what they were asking. I felt bad for the little guy and I hope they drop the price so someone does take him home. read more

My first impression of this establishment was not positive. I took my phone out to message my husband and was told no photos. The place smelled terrible and the dogs were in very confined cages that I would compare to a large fish tank. I will not be going back. read more

I don't see what's with all the bad reviews. Myself and my partner went to this place about 2 months ago and we went in there with the intention of just looking. And we ended up walking out with a adopted four-legged friend that we named Bo. He's a Boggle a Boston terrier beagle mix and he is the biggest ball of love and energy. The service there is really good and the puppies and the rescue dogs in the area next to it are obviously in good health. read more

SHUT THIS HELLHOLE DOWN ONCE AND FOR ALL. I got my puppy for $3200 at this place in February, not even 3 days after I had her she had her first vet visit and got diagnosed with Giardia and an eye infection. Not even a few days later we brought her back to the bet for a coughing yack, diagnosed with Kennel cough. I called this place to let them know what's going on and the old lady that works there (I recognized the condescending voice from when we met) played dumb like she had no idea what dog I had, no record of such dog in there files etc and then when I got mad pretended she couldn't hear me and hung up the phone. Within 24hrs of a diagnosed kennel cough she got from this place cause she hadn't been around any other animals, she got pneumonia. Over $5k in vet bills in the first month of having her trying to save her life which we did. Because of all the illnesses she has had stemming from this place, my 10 month old puppy has seizures (epileptic to be diagnosed) & is severely stunted in growth. We continue to take a deep breath every day hoping she keeps staying healthy. I could go on about this horrible place but it was my mistake even getting a dog there. Not to mention we had her records looked over and all her "vet" records they gave us were falsified. read more

I don't even know where to begin with this review. It was so sad going in there being so excited to bring a puppy home and seeing them charge over $1,000. Also recently they were shut down for parvo being passed around so their location was quarantine. You have to really do your research. And read every fine line of the paperwork because it says if you get a dog and it dies the next day you bring it home that it's your fault but you can read plenty of reviews about pets coming home sick from this location. I was truly disgusted. The customer service wasn't good. The lady running it said we wasted her time and so on. After reading plenty reviews and dealing with the lack of service and her attitude we left. it is very sad to see these puppies go through this kind of thing but I would say be very careful adopting a pet from here!! read more

***MUST READ***. NEVER GO HERE!!! This place is selling puppy mill pups and they keep the puppies in horrible cages. They are kept in cages with wire mess floors and they are so small the puppies have no room to run and play. No wonder there are signs everywhere saying "NO PHOTOS". This place should be shut down!! If you want a great dog go to you local animal shelter and save a dogs life, adopt don't shop. read more

Technically no stars - This business is not the place you should ever try to get a dog from. We tried to adopt a "rescue" dog from here. We were told that we would hear something in 24-48 hours. No call, no information. Went back today and the dog was gone and no one seemed to have an idea of why we weren't contacted. Well, I'll be the first to say... I research everything until I am completely filled with information to the point of both expertise and boredom. I must have looked at every review in the internet of this place. That being said, I am also quite the impatient person... when I want something and I want it bad enough, I get it. My boyfriend has never been a fan of small pups, but I have been fighting him for quite some time to get a Yorkshire Terrier. As a last ditch effort, I dragged him into The Dog House so that he could at least see a puppy- maybe that would sway him! We instantly fell in love with the little guy they had there but told ourselves no- we did not want to support such a place. After a night's worth of discussion and thinking, we convinced ourselves it was a good thing. We'd be saving him from that terrible place. He was 3 months old, and seemed happy and healthy. Maybe we'd get lucky? We just couldn't leave him there. We went back to the place and had no issues getting him at all. Granted, the pup was $1400... but that aside we were excited. After his first trip to the vet, we have found that yes- he has Guardia. This being said, it should be known that even a place like this aside, it's very, VERY common for a puppy to contract such a parasite and The Dog House is paying for the antibiotics. Is this place great? Absolutely not. It's fairly obvious that they are not getting their puppies from reputable breeders and no, it's definitely not the greatest habitat. The facility is pretty clean, they come with a health guarantee (of sorts...), the staff is kind, and if you fall in love with a dog it's just hard to say no. I don't plan on using their puppy daycare (even though you get 3 days free if you purchase a dog there) but I am happy with our little "Bentley"! While I don't think it was in our greatest interest to get our pup there, I don't regret it at all. read more
