There always seems to be people walking up and down the streets, enjoying themselves as they head to their intended destination. The majority of the shops still give off a 50s/60s vibe while still being very well maintained. There are so many antique shops, eateries, mom & pop shops, and so much more. Driving through today made me a bit sad to see that the famous, historic Watson's Drug Store and Soda Fountain is no longer there and has been replaced with a sleek, modern new eatery. The highlight, of course, is the plaza and fountain in the center of the roundabout. Such a beautiful and peaceful space even tho it is the smack dab center of continuous traffic.

My favorite part are the restaurants because there's endless options for lunch, desserts, coffee, and more. The fountain in the center of the roundabout has its good and bad days. It's very beautiful and peaceful to sit around. Unfortunately, it was under construction in the last couple years due to an idiot crashing into it. Parking can be a nightmare, despite what day it is and time of day. My biggest tip is to park in the free parking structure on Lemon St and Chapman. There's also street parking, but it's almost impossible to find. There's specific areas where you cannot park because it's surrounded by a neighborhood.

I…read morestill remember the old deli that was there prior to this restaurant and I've seen numerous social media ads and posts about the place so I wanted to check it out. I think I was a little hesitant because in my head I was thinking how good could possibly really be? In my head spaghetti/pasta is something I can make it home and almost thought it a waste of money to go out of my way to go out specifically to eat this dish. I ordered the Arrabiata pasta with the sausage. I'll admit I was a little thrown off by added cost of each tolling and also added cost of the Arrabiata sauce and I also did wait until a fair amount before the food was ready for takeout. But the pasta really blew me away. I'm still thinking about how good it tasted. I would definitely come back and I actually wanna bring my dad who loves spicy pasta like this. It was really that good. I can't think of another place that has this level of pasta let alone this price. The only negative I would say in regards to one of the workers. The cashier was manned by wonderful woman who did every and all tasks from taking the orders to putting food items in the oven to answering the phone I'm probably much more than that. I don't know. In contrast there was an Asian man with a black shirt who was also working. He looked lost and completely helpless. There was a moment where this woman was so busy and there was a ringing that I assume was from either a phone call or a delivery order. This man did not offer to help more nor did he help from what I saw. He was utterly helpless and unhelpful. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt with the encouragement "Hey help your team out!" The woman on the other hand was doing so many things simultaneously and yet was really kind at the same time. Anyways, I'm giving my review of a five star because I wanna see this place succeed and I'll definitely come back .

The bread they served while we waited for food was extremely salty and inedible. Their steak Italian sandwich was dry. It needed sauce or something. This is one of our go-to date spot that our friends introduced to us to. From my understanding this is Italian owned business with not only great quality food but also a wonderful assortment of rich olive oil, balsamic vinegar, jam, wine, packaged noodles you can buy straight from Italy. The service is always friendly but they can get very busy. Highly recommend a reservation. They've been so busy before they wouldn't even do take out orders. Ambiance is quaint. I love the beautiful Italian chandeliers they have. I've had a hard time with the chairs if I have a thick coat or a clutch hand back hard to put on the seat My husband orders the carbonara everytime which is our favorite item on the menu. Very authentic to us. I've tried many different pastas and just tried the lasagna last night which is not super heavy if your hesitant on feeling too full, was a great portion amount and wasn't super greasy either. Other items I've tried are the but my favorites are the fettuccine Alfredo (not on the menu), the short rib ravioli - super tasty!, and this mozerella crusted Pattie's in balsamic and creamy tomato sauce (seasonal or not on the menu sometime) that we love! I wanted to love the seafood risotto but I've had better. I used to order paccheri alla boscaiola which a popular item but I have to be in the mood for all the red onions which can be overpowering if there's a lot. We have tried some Of the apps which are always super fresh but we tend to order insalata calabrese which has a bit of everything Italian salad and great for sharing. The free bread is a plus too. Highly recommend coming for date night, family night, or even a small special occasion. Thanks for the great food and service!

We loved being able to get a combo of the sausage and meatball mozzarella appetizer to try both. The mix of mozzarella, Parmesan, and ricotta paired nicely with the meats. The only problem is...it's always packed!!! And they're open only for a few hours a day. Today I decided to do takeout. I ordered and paid online from the restaurant and I got a text with the time my order was going to be ready. I parked in their private lot and found my order ready to go on a shelf to the right of the front door. The cashier came out from behind the counter (without me even asking) to get me the bag of jalapeño chips that I ordered (which was very nice since the place was packed and the chips were on the far wall). The sandwiches are huge! I got a 6" tuna and my husband got the 10" Cortina's Special. Both were loaded! I had to eat mine open faced and I could only eat half! Unfortunately, the whole wheat roll was delicious, but the tuna was a little too much on the sweet side (I have a similar complaint with the tuna at Board & Brew). If you're in the mood for a good tuna salad sandwich, I suggest Jersey Mikes. If you're in the mood for any other kind of sandwich and don't mind waiting, go to Cortina's!

24 straight hours at Disneyland, how can you go wrong?…read more The last time something like this happened was 25 years ago when Disneyland turned 25 and they stayed open for 25 straight hours. Special food options, special entertainment and of course stuff to buy! I got there midway through the afternoon, I had friends who lined up at 10pm the night before since they were giving special edition Mickey ears to the first 2000 people through the gate. They had 3000 people there before the gates even opened at 6am. When I arrived in the afternoon it was busy, but not overly busy. Later in the day it was a different story...they actually hit capacity a few times and closed on more than one occasion. From 930pm to 1am they wouldn't let anyone in at all. The lines got worse as the night wore on, at 4am the line for Space Mountain was 140 minutes long. BUT...if you were there, you didn't really care about riding any rides, you just wanted to be a part of history. I really hope Disneyland does something like this again...I would be one of the first people through the gates. :0)

After all, what better way to spend your extra day that only comes every four years at Disneyland? The problem was, everyone in their Mom was about to go balls-to-the-wall on this day as well. I know a few of my friends who stayed the entire 24 hours from 6AM on February 29th to 6AM on March 1st, and for them spending that long at Disneyland was probably worth it. However, the throngs of people I encountered when I attempted to walk through the happiest place on Earth was pretty difficult to endure. I went at night to do it for the story, and maybe stay a little bit their usual hours, but by by the time 11:30 rolled around, it was definitely not worth it. Literally, navigating down Main Street meant being sandwiched between strangers, nearly losing my friends and feeling like cattle. We only got to ride IJ with a wait of about 40 minutes, and that in itself was kind of a miracle because they had shut down the ride (unknown to us), and when they opened it up again, we nearly breezed through the maze. Next, we tried to check out Thunder Mountain Railroad but we found a 2 hour wait...say what? That was when my tiredness had gotten the best of me and I decided to get some ice cream and call it a day. When we left Dland was at capacity...that's like 75,000 people! No wonder the waiting times became sky high. While it was nice to be a part of Disney history, it definitely wasn't "as good as it gets", I'm not a fan, and it wasn't even just "A-OK". Sorry Walt but I've had better than becoming claustrophobic on Main Street.
