I don't normally crave donuts, but when I do, this is my go-to spot. It's normally quite busy with locals when I go, but it's quiet and calm for the morning crowd. I loooove their ham and cheese croissant as well especially warmed up--it's huge and will definitely fill you up. The donut Country looks exactly as it always has for many years, a welcoming at home feeling with nothing fancy about it with welcoming friendly service! The apple fritters are what an apple fritter should be, crispy around the edges, browned perfectly with a sugary glaze, moist in the inside with delicious apples that are cooked to perfection! I have tried many apple fritters and no where will you find an apple fritter this fantastic! Whenever I come home to Hanford The Donut Country is an early morning stop because if you do not arrive there early chances are you are going to miss out! Such good donuts! The first time I went, they only had glazed left because it was a holiday and they were closing early. I ordered 3 to try them and ate 2 of them on the way home! I've tried a lot of local donut places and haven't been impressed by any until this one! I wish I had tried it sooner or first so I could have skipped the bad donuts. They have so much of a selection and everything I tried was delicious, even the glazed is amazing! I'm pretty picky about donuts, and this place takes the cake donut. Love coming here when we can to grab some donuts and pastry pies. The donuts here are pretty big and fluffy. Their pastry pies are pretty good, they have cream with strawberry and cream with blueberry. They go perfect with coffee. This place usually is busy with people coming in and out. Donuts are warm and fresh in the morning! The decor could use some help but I guess most donut shops here look like this one. The line gets a little long in the morning as expected, but the donuts are worth the wait! Parking is limited in front of the shop maybe 4 or 5 spots, I'm surprised I always get lucky to get a spot. This place has been around for years, and for good reasons . They cook donuts all day so u know its always fresh. I tried Dunkin Donuts because of all the hype and turns out thats all it was. Horrible. Worst customer service I've experienced. I went in to get a dozen donuts and a bag of donut holes. My total was about $10. Their card reader wouldn't read my brand new card. That I've used multiple times this morning. They didn't take Amex so her solution was i go buy stuff i dont need at rite aid next store and get cash back or "you don't need these donuts that bad". I payed $2 cash for the donut holes so my daughter wouldn't cry (she's two) and walked out. Will never come back. And will tell friends and family about the rude service. read more
