I can't even with this place. Custom donuts with icing, topping and drizzle is so awesome! The donut itself is so pillowy and fluffy. I sometimes just stop in on the way to work to grab one donut and it's the best way to start your day. If you do eat them later, you should microwave them for a few seconds. The Donut Experiment is a nice little shop tucked away in a strip mall. The shop is very clean and has a lot of nice visuals including all the creative donuts they can make. This is a newer concept donut shop in that they create the donut with all the icings and toppings you request. These are exclusively vanilla cake donuts with toppings. The donuts are made every 30 minutes and are super fresh and still warm! So how it works is you first pick your flavor of icing then toppings ie; Oreo, choc chips, sprinkles, bacon, peanuts etc... then a drizzle of icing if you like. Basically you create the flavors you want your donut to be! I had the salted caramel and it was very good. The donut itself was soft and inside was dense, the caramel icing was very flavorful and the subtlety of the salt made it special. OMG this was my first time stopping by The Donut Experiment and I'm so excited I did!! The donuts were phenomenal, really fresh and very warm. I decided to build 2 donuts; one with glaze, coconut, and raspberry drizzle the other with maple glaze, bacon and caramel drizzle! Both were really very good! This is a smaller establishment so I can see it getting very crowded, however on my visit I was in and out! There are also a couple tables and chairs outside to sit at. We went our first time on a Sunday and the service was great. The girl asked if was our first time and explained the process. The donuts are made fresh every 30 mins and they are fluffy and have a nice outer crunch. You pick your toppings and they have a lot. Even coconut. The coffee was also very good. Our custom made donuts were ready quickly and tasted great. I think they also have donut holes. Can't wait to go back. Check their hours before you go. We felt the pricing was fair also. After reading other reviews here, It was sad to see a one star review from a person who thought the layout of the store was poor, but said the donuts were good. I don't think that's what these reviews are all about. This family has a huge amount of money invested in their small business dream. Respect that!!! I didn't have a good experience when they first opened and didn't want to review them yet. Yesterday , we picked up a fresh half dozen of donuts. My order was correct and it was delicious. Honestly this retail shop space needs to be reconfigured. You walk in the door and the order register is one step in the door. No space to hold a "line". And/or to fill out an order "form". The order taker should be able to take an order - automate it -- or build space for 4 or 5 customers to fill it out. Also If you were hoping for your children to be able to see their order made -- again not enough space!! They cannot get the experience and that is what we went for.
