Wonderful People! Wonderful doughnuts! Family atmosphere, but still welcoming to all! Exactly what I was hoping for. I would be back for the doughnuts alone, but the warm people at the front made my day. Allow tipping!

Cream puff, cannoli tart, strawberry tart, strawberry cream puff! Delicious!!!

When we walked in, the bakery was completely empty, yet staff helped customers who came in after us while we stood at the register waiting for several minutes before finally speaking up. Once we mentioned we were there for AmazeCo, the employee helping us initially tried to hand us someone else's order even after we gave our name. After finally locating our box, we discovered it only contained croissants with bacon and ham. We explained that one person in our group cannot eat pork and asked if there was any possibility of exchanging an item, especially since every other stop on the AmazeCo experience was accommodating of dietary restrictions. The response we received was simply, "That sucks," with no attempt to help or offer an alternative. The lack of customer service and professionalism really left a bad impression, especially considering the positive experiences we had everywhere else that day.

Probably the best Boston cream donut I've ever had!…read more DeEtta's bakery offers pies, cookies, cakes, muffins and donuts (donuts offered Friday - Sunday). They also have coffees as well. This small shop does not have any seating. It is a grab n go place that way you're able to devour their sweets in peace haha. The donuts aren't labeled which made it hard for me to decide what I wanted. I did ask the staff member what some of them were which took a few extra minutes. I also did not see a sign for how much their donuts are. I stopped in on a Saturday around 830am and it was BUSY. A couple came in to pick up their custom made wedding cake while others were there for a Saturday sweet treat. Staff members were friendly and on top of their game. I got 2 donuts, Boston cream and maple pecan. Both were delicious and fresh. The Boston cream donut is a show stopper. It was thicccck and filled with a generous amount of custard. The dough was fluffy and the chocolate on top was not overly sweet.

Mixed feelings. Read on to find out why…read more.. My husband brought home the lemon and vanilla pound cakes, and a chocolate chip scone. The lemon pound cake had the faintest hint of lemon, and it tasted more like lemon extract than fresh lemon. (No hint of the zestiness that comes when using fresh lemon). Definitely lacking in flavor. The icing on top was the best part of the cake. The vanilla one tasted like vanilla, but still didn't have as much flavor as I would have hoped. I would have liked the icing on this one vs powdered sugar. The texture of both of the cakes was rubbery. You can definitely tell these are baked with margarine vs butter. Both texture and flavor would be better if real butter were used. Now let's talk about the chocolate chip scone. OMG! Delicious! If I were the owner of this store, I would call it the Scone Bakery! Texture was perfect. Flavor was perfect. I will definitely return to this store, but I will be getting scones, not pound cake.

Not a pound cake fan? No worries! There are also scones, mini quiche, mini pot pies and cookies to be had. If you're walking through downtown with your dog, there's a walkup window; otherwise you can go inside and order at the counter. There are several tables if you want to enjoy your treat here. They serve Two Brothers coffee, a local brew. The cinnamon chip scone I got was huge and delicious! Will definitely return for future baked goods.

Those items are a bit pricier than the rest but they are quite unique. The cruffins are flakey, sugary without being overwhelming, creamy but subtle, and very satisfying. I have a strong sweet tooth and I am greedy. So I generally like to try more than one item in one sitting. These portions are not small and I would recommend sharing if you want to try a variety. I have monthly appointments in the general area and I try to plan it so that I will have enough time before or after my appointment to make a quick stop at Fiene's. My visits are usually during the week and I would be in and out within 10 minutes.

I love that the amount of sweetened condensed milk was just right where the coffee didn't end up being too sweet. I do want to point out that the drink didn't seem like the strongest coffee around, and the taste closer resembled tea with a little milk added. I should have gone to the Vietnamese coffee the cashier offered! I also tried a piece of their sour cream coffee cake. Warmed wonderfully, and with just the right amount of sweetness, crispness, and just a little tang from the sour cream. This was terrific, and something I would absolutely get again. The vibe is classic with lots of wood, and plenty of comfortable seating. However, if you choose to take advantage of their WiFi, you are asked to buy a drink first, and then every 30 minutes after an hour. I understand where this comes from, and it serves as a deterrent from someone buying one drink and spending a working day in here. However, it also makes Sweetwaters seem like less of a spot to chill and catch up on Yelp reviews (for e.g.,), as I'd have to set a stopwatch to not break the rules. Final verdict: while the Dragon Eye could've had some coffee flavors, the coffee cake helped bring the experience up. While the vibe is classic, don't expect to sit and work without keeping the drinks coming.
