The space is beautiful! Plenty of seating to stay and enjoy your drink & treat. There are some interesting options here. There are Italian cookies, donuts, muffins, breads, cannoli, 'kolaczki' (I say this because it's very non traditional) and beverages. We got 4 donuts - 3/4 we really liked! The jelly & old fashioned with chocolate frosting stood out most. Docked a star because they didn't greet me nor were they very friendly and I was the only customer there at 9a on a Friday...

wow! I ordered 5 of their famous chocolate pound cakes for my husbands birthday party 7/12/26. and they were as wondearful as we expected! and Tom and his staff were so happy and helpful! it's a little drive for me from Roselle but so worth it ! I also took a box if pastries home too of course and they didn't last long! Thank you Allegrettis for making everyone just go crazy for your cakes!

Wonderful People! Wonderful doughnuts! Family atmosphere, but still welcoming to all! Exactly what I was hoping for. I would be back for the doughnuts alone, but the warm people at the front made my day. Allow tipping!

Cream puff, cannoli tart, strawberry tart, strawberry cream puff! Delicious!!!

Excellent pastries and staff. Especially the cake decorator, she is the bomb. I like the lemon knots and the sourdough bread.

Spice was perfect, just enough heat but not too much. The service was great, the cashier helped me find what sandwich I was looking for, asked if I wanted the lunch special and introduced me to diet RC, which I didn't even know was a thing. Seems like a nice family owned restaurant. I was tempted to eat inside but I opted to eat in my car even though the inside was very clean and had a nice vibe, only critique is seats were a little worn. Edit: Also! I was reading the past reviews and I don't know if they changed their pricing, but i got two sodas, the sandwich and fries and it came out to like $13, which in this economy was not bad at all! 4.5/5 - I will be frequenting this spot weekly for lunch. I want to try the other sandwiches but that vodka parm was so good. We'll see.

It was a small place with only a few tables that was empty at 2 p on a Saturday. The gentleman working was patient while I read the menu. We chose the original chicken Cesar and the KO Philly. The chicken Cesar was amazing. The cutlet was cooked so well and the dressing had great flavor!! The KO Philly's meat was so tender and we really enjoyed trying something new with all the flavors of the KO Philly. Didn't give 5 stars because it was a bit expensive for 2 subs (that don't come with anything) & the KO Philly needed more jalapeños to offset the sweet BBQ (the jalapeños were a great touch!)

In light of Rosh Hashanah, we were looking for Jewish places to eat and came across Schmaltz Deli…read more We never knew there was a Jewish deli in the area and boy were we missing out. As soon as we walked in, we knew it was going to be a great experience. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor tables available as well as a traditional deli counter. They also have a drive thru! You can choose to order at the counter or be seated with a more traditional restaurant-like service. Our waiter was young but very professional and provided great recommendations. To start, they bring a complimentary bowl of bagel chips (a unique twist and a great way to repurpose old bagels). For my meal, I had a half American sandwich with a bowl of matzo ball soup. It was simple but delicious. On our way out, we stopped at the deli and ordered a few rugelach. They tasted so fresh! My favorite was the apricot flavor. Definitely hope to be back real soon to support such a great spot! Shana Tova!

It was a solid 7, which is why I place it at 3.5 stars. I may be being picky here but it just wasn't to the level of "melt-in-your-mouth" pastrami standards for me. Not to say it wasn't good, because it was perfectly fine. In fact, it's better than most of the pastrami sandwiches I tried in Chicagoland. Maybe it's the fact that I had to bring it back to the office to eat it, and half hour had gone by and pastrami weren't as warm and the Jewish rye had become soggy by the time I took the first bite. I mean, it goes without saying that the sandwich would have been 3 times better had I sat down immediately and had it. Again, all things considered, it was a perfectly good sandwich. One interesting thing was that I had never been to an establishment that included a half sour pickle instead of a normal one and gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised. Pickles can be a hit or a miss for me. I like my pickles to be crunch, but some places offer overripened ones that become borderline mushy. Schmaltz's half sour pickle was not overly salty or sour, making it very attractive for me. The more I'm thinking about it, I'm convinced that I'll have to go back and try their #14 Sloppy Paul, which is the corned beef with sauerkraut, which is another favorite of mine. And this time, I'll be sure to dine in and give another review of it to see how much I like them better.

We ordered 2 foot long sandwiches, one pastrami and one original cheese steak with cheese whiz on the side, a large cheese fry, and an order of onion rings totaling $58+. Both sandwiches again had no meat on 2 inches of both ends at $18 each. The $8.99 order of onion rings consisted of only 4 small rings & 4 larger rings. The large cheese fry order was re-fried old hand cut fries that were dark brown and smelled like old fryer oil which stunk up my truck all the way home. The cups of cheese whiz had white bubbles in them??? Again, this is my second recent visit with poor quality, stingy amounts of meat and onion rings, burnt re fried French fries in old oil, and gross cheese sauce! Completely unacceptable considering the prices and continued poor practices. I would not recommend takeout unless you inspect each item before leaving because if you call, multiple times, the owner is only there from 10am to 2pm. BTW, he is the one who made my food items. You can go to a nice diner for these prices and enjoy your food. Choose wisely!
