Parking B will be closed and parking lot A is what we are being told to use. It is about 5 minutes further away, a pain if it was raining or you are carrying anything heavy. You can park in lot c but it is usually full due to 2/3 being used for staff parking. It would be useful if they would due occupancy surveys to determine if Staff parking and handicapped spaces could be reduced. Right now there are 10 handicapped spaces. Even charging extra to secure a spot in that lot might be a good option. I think they are trying to reduce membership and make it more student oriented.Before you join, be sure you understand the parking challenges along with probably endless construction.

However I thought their practices around the fee structure were extremely shady. First of all, for a community center you charge a crazy amount. It's meant to be accessible and not an elite club which is what this has turned into. A name change should be well in order if they're not serving the community they belong to. Please note they are a non profit organization. Secondly they will charge you an arm and a leg for classes and membership, they will update your pricing and not give you notice. I think the fact that they don't list their prices on their website are true testament to my statement. I dropped my membership as it stopped being worth the $500 I was paying for me and the kids per month (only one of my kids was doing swim lessons) their swim classes helped for a little and then the teachers were replaced with new ones who didn't care much about the students. I ended up quitting and unless their pricing is more transparent and less elitist I'd rather drive a little bit longer.

She has had her greatest skill jump playing for BBV and she feels like she has found her home. We are hoping that she can continue to learn and grow with the team in the coming years.

We left Crunch after 17 years (well, technically it was Gold's before but you get the point) because I had a female stalker and Crunch wouldn't help me (even with restraining orders). I was wildly unimpressed with their non-assistance. We went to Equinox bc it was supposed to be nicer and it was only a 1 mile walk from our house - fantastic. While it looked nicer, it was not nicer. It's old, outdated and limited. It's stupid expensive. And the hours really, really suck. So after a year, we left Equinox and we were wavering on going back to the Bay Club or joining the Y. Our kids really wanted to work out and the Y was a great option for a family plan. So we joined for them. While testing it out and thinking we might bounce out to the Bay Club, we ended up loving it. They recently upgraded all the equipment to smart equipment and I'm diggin it! I haven't seen these machines since I was at an upscale gym in Houston a couple years ago! I love the price ($185 for all 6 of us, plus it as daycare vs $230/mo at equinox per person and no kids are welcome) I love the normalness of the Y too. I may make great income, but I don't want to be with the stiffs. I want to be where my roots are.

I think that's a ridiculous reason, especially since towel service is one of the benefits that made me choose the YMCA. I really want to like this gym more, because there are a lot of things they do well. The staff are…read moreconsistently friendly and welcoming, the crowd is respectful, and the location and hours are very convenient. However, I can't give more than two stars unless management seriously improves equipment maintenance. Several machines have had "Out of Service" stickers on them for at least six months, with no visible progress on repairs. In some cases there are only one or two of those machines in the entire gym, so when one is broken for months, it becomes very inconvenient for members who rely on that equipment. On top of that, some of the existing equipment is clearly aging (frayed cables, worn components, etc.). What makes this more frustrating is that the gym offers a premium membership tier that includes access to the hydro/water massage bed, but that has also been out of service for a long time. Even more concerning, the water fountain and bathroom have both been out of service multiple times. That's a basic facility issue. Members need access to drinking water and restrooms during workouts. Meanwhile, the gym sells bottled water at the counter, which feels especially frustrating when the fountain isn't working. On a few occasions they even had to bring in a porta-potty outside the gym, which says a lot about the state of the building facility. Again, I genuinely want to rate this gym higher because the staff and community are great. If management commits to properly repairing and maintaining the equipment and facilities, I would absolutely be happy to update this review and increase the rating.

I don't know what the health and safety code is for bathrooms in gyms, but I'm pretty sure they are violating it. The bathroom situation is just annoying. As far as the actual gym and equipment, they got all the basics for a decent workout. My biggest complaint is that once a machine is broken, they take months to repair them. There are workout benches that have not been fully operational for 6 months. It's ridiculous. At this point, just buy some new ones... but that's not going to happen. This gym is run by cheapos cutting corners, but I guess that's what I get for $40 a month. Also, as some other reviews have stated, the gym is pretty dusty. They should get a cleanup crew to come in every once in a while and give the gym a deep clean...but they are CHEAPOS!

Very competitive and not many tennis courts anymore. The ball machine is good. The free pickleball paddles for drop-in are not as good as the Bay Club Gateway ones. Parking can be hard even though there's a large lot. Bathrooms and locker rooms are nice and clean. I wish there were more workout classes and social events (though there are a lot of pickleball tournaments.)
