The Draft House Lakeside Bar & Grille took over the former Bolton's Lake House in Kingston in the summer of 2022, open year round. The place is pretty casual offering inside with table seating, high top tables, seating up at the center bar and TVs throughout the restaurant. There is also outside patio seating in the back overlooking Great Pond. They offer up to 48 beers on tap (37 currently), cocktails and wine between the center main bar and the smaller bar next to the kitchen. The food menu offers a variety of pub style fare including appetizers, salads, soups, chili, smash burgers, sandwiches, Mac & cheese, seafood, chicken parm, and desserts. Specials are also offered too. The prices are moderate here. I stopped by The Draft House Lakeside Bar & Grille in Kingston for food after work. It was seat yourself here, so found a big open table with a good view of the TVs. The place was moderately busy, most customers seated at or near the main bar and a larger party at the next table.  I already knew what I wanted and went with the Draft House Sampler ($20 plus tax) and an ice water. It was a toss up between a smash burger or appetizers for my dinner. The Draft House Sampler arrived in 10 minutes, a big tray of 6 appetizers including chicken tenders (4), mozzarella sticks (4), soft pretzels sticks (4), Philly cheese steak egg roll (cut in half), nacho chips, coconut shrimp (3), plus 5 dips spicy BBQ sauce, spiced sweet mustard, pineapple sauce, marinara sauce, and thick queso dip. The fried appetizers and nacho chips were very filling to eat and I especially enjoyed the hand breaded chicken tenders, coconut shrimp and Philly cheese steak egg roll. After I was finished, it was no more food for me and I got the check which was $21.74 with tax and before tip.  Overall, the fried apps were pretty good and the service was prompt. I will definitely try the Cowboy Burger and some chili on my next visit here. read more

Our first time here and we were pleasantly surprised to find a back deck overlooking the lake and very friendly and attentive service. The Fish and chips were great- especially the homemade fries. Very distinctive cut and well seasoned. We had the dill fried pickles as an app and considered the boozy milkshake flight for desert! read more

So two of our best friends and my wife came to this establishment for dinner very nice atmosphere pictures of the pond great. We sat by the window and we ordered service was a tad slow we go to our drinks. The other the three were fine. I had a tangerine tonic that tasted like there was no. My wife and two friends ordered steak tips and salad medium rare when they came out late they were medium. The three of them said they were absolutely delicious and of course the salad was outstanding. They still wear medium. I'm Irish I love shepherds pie. It came recommended from a friend, but I have never had a dryer shepherds pie in my life. It was dry as a bone very very disappointing. This place could be a five, 10+. I have to ask how to screw up a shepherds pie. Did anyone check the consistency? There wasn't a single drop of liquid in that dish. It's the simplest of dishes just blew my mind. Extremely disappointing. I would give it a zero except my wife said all the steaks were medium. They were tasty and the salads were outstanding. Meg was the best, amazing salad Mediterranean just needs strawberries. The deck was surprisingly wet on a rainy day so we eat inside.

Love it here! It is so beautiful. High ceilings and a whole wall of windows overlooking the lake. Plus a huge patio, perfect to sit at duing the warm summer days or at night at one of the fire places and beautiful outdoor lighting. The food and cocktails are amazing and wont disappoint. They have flights perfect for sharing of different wine spritzers, mimosas and draft beer. The staff are all so nice too read more

Extremely disappointed! Walked in at 20 of 9, well over an hour before closing, and was told the kitchen already closed, the bartender went and asked if they would at least do a lobster roll and slaw... So they didn't even have to cook frys... Nope... She brought me a bowl of chowder.. The only reason for the 2nd star. Then about 5 minutes later 2 sandwiches and 2 burgers came out... Then about 5 after that, while I was eating my chowder, nachos covered in cheese and meat came out.. While all that was finishing, they could had easily scooped lobster into a roll, and slaw on the plate! The chowder was decent, I really would have liked to try a lobster roll and an appetizer... Wondering if the owners know about this, and care that the cooks won't cook?! read more

Went last week for our first time. Food was ok, it was a stew over potatoes. Nice winter meal. I had draft beer, I counted 48 taps. It was an impressive selection. Menu was limited and ours was a special. We went on a Friday night prime time and got the last 2 seats at the bar, its seat yourself. Lots of tv's for sports and the staff was attentive but not friendly. For a local spot it's worth the try. read more

I'll start by saying that overall, I would recommend trying this place. It seems like there is a lack of reviews, so we really didn't know what to expect but wanted to check it out for the lakeside aspect anyway. We got there around 3:15 pm on a Sunday and were told there would be about a 30 minute wait for an outside table. (This seemed like maybe more of a staffing issue than that there weren't enough tables. They said they couldn't seat us inside quite yet either.) No biggie. We waited. About 15 minutes later they asked if we were okay with sitting at a 4 top with an extra chair pulled over. We agreed. The outdoor seating was just what we were looking for. The lake was beautiful and the day was not too hot. The patio isn't too packed with tables either, so we could hear each other to talk, and didn't feel like we were dining with other people. Onto the food. Clam chowder was fine. Nothing memorable, but if I were REALLY in the mood for chowder I might order it again. Mozzarella sticks got no complaints from the three kids. My husband ordered the Cluck Norris chicken sandwich, which was spicy with fried jalapenos. He liked it, but wished it was a little less spicy. (He may order again and ask for sauce on the side, as he thinks that is what overpowered it.) Little guy got a bowl of the clam chowder (which he devoured) and a kids pasta with sauce. Big guy got the Chicken Parm with pasta, sauce and a side of fries. (15 year old appetite.) Middle got the burger, which she liked. I got the Chicken Bruschetta which I didn't have any real complaints about, but wasn't blown away by. I would say the one place where most of the family was in agreement was that there was room for improvement in the tomato sauce. We think it was the same sauce used for the mozz. sticks and both Big guy and Little guy's pasta, and it was just... meh. It was really pretty bland (I tried a bite of the pasta.) Big guy left a lot of his chicken because of it, which was a bummer because he then went home and had fourth meal. The server was very friendly and helpful. Overall, the pace of our meal was slow. We weren't in a rush, so it wasn't a big deal. All in all, we would go back, and would definitely ask to sit outside. (I don't know if they take reservations, but definitely check.) I would be interested in trying some other menu items, and would definitely say it's worth giving them another shot! read more

The atmosphere is amazing! Really cool spot to meet up with friends on the patio, watch a game or get a nice family dinner. The food was on point. Food overly covered in Sault! There is no need to add Sault to Nachos . Nachos are nothing but sodium in the first place. Then the fries was a mouth of Sault again. Your not a fast food establishment. Let the customers add Sault if needed. That's the reason you have Sault and pepper on all your tables. My wife had a burger and nothing but Sault. If your adding Sault to meat, fish its only to preserve and let it last longer and taste bad. read more

Have gone to the Draft House a few times. Food has always been good (I always ask for fries crisp to make sure they're hot). I had bacon cheeseburger, wife had steak and cheese. Roll on her sandwich was a bit old. Erika our server was great. Like so many places these days they had limited staff. She did a fantastic job. As for ambiance, there isn't much. We just hosted my husband and sons birthday party there and it was amazing. Our guests are still talking about it. The food, drink and atmosphere was perfect for our private event. The family and I really want to like this place, but after patronizing this place about 4 times, we are done. The concept is there but the ambiance is nonexistent. It is never very busy which is not a great sign. Menu is quite limited and not very creative. Service average. Drinks are ok-not many choices for wine and not an expansive amount of beer on tap which is ironic. The food is always filling and feels a bit yucky after eating. Got there at 4:08 they open at 4 . first people there went to sit outside most of the tables were reserved. Waitress Cat suggested we sit at a reserved table as long as we left by 5:20. I stood there for a good three minutes when I first got there, because there was no sign that said see yourself then I was told by the bartender to pick any seat after she just looked at me. Service was not that great, but she was new the food was terrible and the drink was absolutely disgusting and it was $15. I will not be back. read more
