The Draft is so fun. Perfect place to watch a few games, happy hour with the co-workers, lunch/dinner with the family, or when you need to just have a fun night. People are nice. Service is friendly and accommodating. I love the UFC/boxing nights. Been coming here for years and every time, the food is amazing!!! So good, it's worth it to be a lil fat. Lol. Okay...I don't get it. A few years ago, they (Wings, Pizza & Things, now Draft) had horrible food and was a place I usually avoided. However, they had brought in a new manager who revamped the menu and changed meat suppliers, which ultimately improved the food quality and taste. When I heard about the changes, I gave it another shot shortly thereafter and as a result, I tended to eat and drink here more often with my buddy, as it was closer to home than my old Carlsbad Village stomping ground. So tonight, I decided to take my family for some happy hour specials and some burgers, which have always been excellent since the change in Managerial staff a few years prior. But to my disgust and disappointment, they again changed their burgers by returning to the flavorless patties of yore. I used to realy enjoy their Turkey Burger, as it wasn't some pre-made frozen patty that you could get from Costco. Guess what, it is the same burger I can make at home (except for the bun) when I am too lazy or broke to go out for a good burger. After one bite, it was obvious. I confirmed my suspicion with the waitress who verified the burgers were changed. Thank goodness I had a coupon for buy one burger get one free or I would have been pissed and more disappointed than I was. The funny thing was, the waitress apologized for the bruger change and told me she had taken the burger off of the bill. I was glad at first, then realized, I had a coupon for a free burger anyway, so she really didn't make it any better. But she was very polite and apologetic. So back to my initial comment. Why would any owner who cares about his product be willing to return to some of the same ole crappy food that made consumers like me avoid their place? One answer....Its cheaper. Too bad...I guess I'll be returning to Carlsbad where I can get a really good Burger and Fries for $5 every monday night or large shimp tacos for $1.50 on Thurdays. Maybe the Draft owners will re-evaluate the product of their meat purveyors and replace what was once good. Our waitress was taking shots of whiskey with the people sitting next to our table while I'm over at my table waiting for her to finish up so I can finally ask her for a refill. We have come here as well of had door dash delivery, and pick up a few times Over the past two years and I'm sad to say we will not be back. It used to be very good and always so satisfying, good service when we've been there, nice staff, and delicious food... I'm honestly not sure what has happened in the last 6-8 months.... everything tastes like it has freezer burn (the fried zucchini and the chicken strips to be exact) and we've had a few other issues with undercooked food. But tonight was kinda the straw that broke the camels back.... I ordered a $13 bacon burger well done, no onion, and no bun (as I'm on a strict diet for health reasons). My burger was rare, basically raw bacon, with tons of onions (I'm allergic), and a bun... I can just take the bun off but for a $13 burger and a very good tip, I should be able to get the few things I asked for... this isn't the first time most the food has just gone in the trash... and I guess we keep giving them a shot because it's close, the kids used to eat it, and we used to love it... so we kinda were hoping it was a fluke... but sadly whatever has changed in the past 8 months or so has not been a change for the better good. Hoping ours issues are just isolated incidents but we've given them more then a fair shot with quite a bit of money wasted... The service sucks because they give too many tables to the waiters so they can make more money. Quality over quantity is apparently more important for this company. The servers ARE very friendly and helpful when you do need them. The food and drinks is what keeps me coming back. Did a to go order that was over $50 it was completely wrong. I live 20 min away and didnt realize it was wrong till i got home because the staff didn't show me my order. I call the restaurant and explain what happened the owner of the company he gave me a phone number and told me to give him my address and they will send a gift card its been two months and im pretty sure my number was blocked. I had a very disturbing experience today at the Draft. I watch as one of the bartenders was filling up the shakers as it was slow. That great to get work done before the nite begins, but what's disturbing as this young blonde girl was using her hands to put the pepper in the shakers and when I mentioned to the other girl behind the bar the blonde denied having done that, eventually she got up and washed her hand and continued to clean the shakers. As a friend told her about her remark was ( if I make her drink I will lick the rim of the glass) of course I told her that if she licked the rim I would put her face in the mirror so she never do that again. Let me start by saying that I've been coming to this place even before all of the renovations..So it's been a few years. I wasn't a regular only because I don't live in the area anymore (I'm in Los angeles).. but I'd come once a month or once every few months. Even refer people to this place. However, I don't think I can come back after my horrible service. Really, I don't think I've EVER had anyone ignore me on purpose.. even after I was nicely raising my hand several times to get her attention. (I'm not usually the type to raise my hand..unless I feel ignored) Anyways, the waitress purposely walked on an aisle away from our table. She avoided our direction. Yes..the place was busy.. that's always a good reason and I understand. But the sad part was that our waitress was not busy. Believe me..we were trying to get her attention the whole time. lol. I had to finally raise my hand straight into the air and give a sharp look in her direction. At this point, I just wanted to the get out of there. There is such a thing where you won't always like a customer regardless of who or what they've done..but to represent a restaurant..you have to at least respect them by being appropriate. The Draft used to be 'Wings, Pizza, and Things' (which, let's just say now thank goodness for the name change because that was a mouthful.) Its very hit or miss. My boyfriend and I have been in here a ton of times and it's okay. We really only go back because the wing sauces they have are really yummy. The Cajun and spicy BBQ are my favorites. The price for wings seems a bit much when it's not 50 cent happy hour though (which I swear is in the worst time frame of day... Only until 3pm?!) The wait staff can be absolutely god awful or decent, never really been great. Last time we went we got there at 3:45, and didn't leave until almost 6, by force not by choice. Our waitress talked our ear off before we could order about how awful her last customers were and how they complained about the wait (uh, hello red flag #1). We ordered wings from her and I kid you not, 40 minutes later I had to go to the bar to ask if our wings were ready because she basically disappeared off the face of the earth. No water refills, no "hey can I get you anything while you wait," nothing. The guy behind the bar sincerely apologized, went back to the kitchen, and immediately walked out with our luke warm order. We wanted actual food too, so when she finally made an appearance again, we told her we wanted to order a sandwich for him and a wrap for myself and she tried to talk us out of it! She said "are you sure? You just had wings, isn't that a lot of food?" ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Who says that?! First of all, why are you down-selling your only occupied table in the whole restaurant? Second, both my boyfriend and myself are in obviously good shape. It's not like we're fat and trying to watch what we eat! Jeeze. The Service SUCKS I came in all party of 4 we All ordered Medium Well burgers, with starters and drinks none of the burgers where cooked properly, two where so Rare blood was still there. I waited ten minutes for my server to Come back so I could get my food cooked properly and nothing I had to get up and basically take my food back to the kitchen. The waitress told me she couldn't do anything that she would get her manager. A man who said he was the owner apologize and said he would never serve food that would get people sick and when we said IT could have its raw his reply was Well did you get sick? What!!! We really loved this place, because of the great beer selection and pesto pizza. We went there once a week for the pesto pizza, because we are non-meat eaters. However, when we went to The Draft for dinner on Sunday, we were extremely disappointed to learn that the pesto pizza was no longer on the menu. We asked the waitress and she apologized, telling us that several other customers were also unhappy that the pesto pizza was no longer an option. We can't help wonder why? Since the pesto pizza was so popular with non-meat eaters, why would they take it off the menu? Hoping if enough folks complain, that they will bring it back. read more

Came here for a quick drink waiting to see the chiropractor a few doors down. Hubby ordered beer and I a martini. The drinks were piling up st the bar and after waiting a long time, got up to fetch it. Another waitress helped bring it to our table. I asked for olives, none was provided. Went back to the bar and asked for olives and was told they had none. Mind you, they charged me 9 dollars for the lamest, worst, watered down martini I ever tasted. I will be giving this place one more shot..... Came here last night for their happy hour for a friends birthday. I would personally think it's hard to find, because it's in a huge shopping center with a terrible parking lot... So I imagine a lot of people would just pass it by. I guess they changed the name of the place? But you wouldn't know it based on the signs from the street. It still says their old name. Only at the actual location of the place does it "boast" their new name. Who knows though, maybe it was super recent and they haven't got around to it? So anyway.... We came in and sat down, our friends already there. Basic hello how can I help you, didn't take too long.... We order drinks and food... From what I can remember, the drinks didn't take too long to get. I would've remember because our food took forever... All we ordered was a Caesar salad, two sliders and a side of fries. Really, it shouldn't have taken more than 20 minutes to make. The place wasn't packed and by the looks of it, most people were only drinking. I got my food (the sliders/fries) about a good 5-10 minutes BEFORE my fiancé got his salad. And it was the most basic, terrible looking Caesar salad (he said it wasn't good either)... so I have no idea what took SO long (honestly waited at least 30 minutes, maybe even 40, for our food). I liked my food, but I like my burgers well done, so if you don't.... you won't like this. It only comes beyond well done. The fries were great though! Can't really mess that up. Our server was really shaky, like he was super nervous/jittery. And he couldn't really get much of anything straight... We all got each others checks, he had to fix it... blah blah. I mean I'd cut him a break though, who knows... maybe it was his first day? Seemed like it... Maybe he was just off. It happens. Overall, the food is okay... The service (this time) was pretty terrible... He was very sweet, but just not very efficient at all... I will say this, price wise.... it was killer. Happy Hour is from 4pm-7pm (minus Wednesday, I believe)... $1.50 sliders/fries/tacos (super small tacos, sliders okay size)... $3.00 draft beers. You honestly can't beat the price for happy hour. I had 2 sliders, a side of fries and 1 beer... it was $8.00! Anyway, the reasons I wasn't happy with this place or impressed at all, could have been for a number of different reasons... So it took me a few years to really get hooked on wings, and I mean REAL wings, not boneless tenders with sauce. I've eaten Wingstop, Wings-N-Things, and of course Buffalo Wild Wings on top of a few local places that serve wings. The Draft by far has the BEST buffalo sauce I have ever tried. It has just the right amount of spice and killer flavor. The actual wings have little to no fat. Although they are small, each bite is meat-full, and the skin is always nicely crisped. I highly recommend The Draft to wing lovers! Wednesday nights are 55¢ wings which brings a big crowd and causes service to be a bit hectic but the wings are well worth it!!
