Came here to meet w friend that was moving out of state. He is a philly native and heard great reviews about the Philly cheese steak and saw that they use ambrosia rolls. He was very excited about this and i was too, since we used to go to Philly a lot when we used to live in east coast. The menu description of the Philly cheesesteak sounded promising. The employee that helped us also said this was the most popular sandwich. It was a big sandwich but i could already tell right away when getting it, that it was not a philly cheesesteak. The cheese was already coagulated and the meat was thick and tough. The bread was ok. I looked at our friend and the first bite was unfortunately disappointment. the sandwich was just ok. Got chicken tenders (small) for the kid and it was a huge portion, i ended up liking that better. He liked the beer. Not sure what he got though. The staff here are very nice. They are family friendly and offer high chairs. the place has a lot of TVs so if you want to watch a game, it will probably be showing there. There are changing tables in the bathroom if u need to change the baby. If we ever come back, i would get something else other than the Philly cheesesteak. There is a free parking lot but weekends would be busy.

TOMBSTONE burger (I think). What I remember is that it had a ton of bacon and it was delicious.

This place feels and looks like a sports bar/restaurant and if you want to drink beer and watch sports, you came to the right place. They offer plenty of local beers and boozy drinks. But it is absolutely family friendly, too. The food options on the menu are also plentiful. The pretzel bites appetizer was nice enough. The burgers are very, very good. I normally like to try different things at restaurants but I don't know if I would order anything here other than one of their very big and very juicy, flavorful burgers. They are excellent. With the burger, you get a choice of one of their many side options. The fries and rings were solid (and you should order that side instead of just the fries or just the rings) but why isn't anyone getting the huge bowl of bacon mac and cheese? It is absolutely delicious. I appreciate that you can select from one of their many sides. Service was excellent. Our server was great but we were also checked in on by at least two other workers. I am not sure they classify themselves as a sports bar and I do not know that it really matters. Come for sports, come for burgers, come for nice service, come for a family night out. It is a casual, friendly place with a lot of positives.

Fun place, lots of TVs and the ambience was lively. My IPA was tasty but warm. That's a big red flag for me. We were all hungry and although the food was moderate, we gladly ate it all. The cowboy burger had good toppings, but the meat itself was a bit bland. I think our server must've been on a break because we waited a while for refills of water and to order the food. The garlic Parmesan fries were the star of the night.

Awesome little local bar located right in the heart of carlsbad village. They have an excellent beer selection, outdoor patio, good food and plenty of TVs to watch the game on! Those chicken avocado loaded fries are AMAZING!

Happy hour for padres games menu

My second time here. Fantastic place to watch the game because of the food&drink deals, tons of TVs, and they play the sound of the game too. Our service was 10/10 (didn't catch the bartenders names but a woman with dirty blonde hair and one with curly black hair! Did a great job with our large obnoxious crew) The only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars is that none of the sandwiches or burgers come with fries/a side so I ended up paying $23 without tax/tip for a pretty mediocre burger and fries. Also last time I was here, the menu was double the size with a lot of different options.

We usually stop here every time we are in Carlsbad... I do love the first responder stuff... I had a cheeseburger & fries...it's $5.00 off on Thursday's... Both staff members were friendly and very efficient... We walk everywhere in town... because parking is limited..

Went here on a Friday night date and was super surprised that only a few people were there. However I absolutely loved it! Like how many places can you and get a hefty sandwich AND a glass of wine?! They have a good sized menu, which I look forward to trying all their sandwiches. I also noticed they do endless mimosas (2 hour limit) along with brunch. They have live music on the weekends and nights. I love the vibe of this place with supporting First Responders and Military aka "American Heroes". Great drinks Great food Great bartenders Great music Great atmosphere

Cool little local pub. Very clean establishment and Billy was our server/bartender, was on top of everything...we order two well drinks and they were made in minutes and delicious. I got wings and a hamburger and both were great. I also ordered onion rings but I'm glad they never came out because I was stuffed! Billy had helpful insight to other restaurants and bars for us and he wasn't lying! Will definitely go back to watch a game and drink/eat.

    Hoboken and a Suncruiser

Great atmosphere...lots of TVs all showing different things. Excellent draft beer selection. Absolutely amazing sandwiches...my favorite is the Hoboken grinder style. And yes, sometimes I'll have a Suncruiser because they are refreshing!

This is a cool place to be. Downtown In carlsbad village. There are lots of parking lots but when we visited- it was crowded. We finally got one of those parking lots that had a two hour limit. We were immediately seated. We took an outdoor spot- right at the entrance . Relaxing vibe. We ordered out drinks- hubby got a beer and I got monkey tail. Drinks arrived within 15 minutes. I didn't think monkey tail was that great. It tasted more like coffee drink rather than something woth banana liquer. The kahlua overpowered everything. Hubby got the san diego- carne asada and I got the boston( pilgrim) and a side of onion rings. Food took about 20 min approximately to come out. I ain't complaining because they were delicious. Onion rings were hot and crispy. Hubby's san diego sandwich was a little greasy. But mine.... oh mine was fantastic. It was my little thanksgiving feast on a bun. The stuffing was like little discs of heaven. Everything else in the bun played very well together. It was delicious!!! This place was also dog friendly! All the servers love dogs and stop to say hi to our pup. We love it. They also had merchandise available for purchase. Unfortunately since we are moving out of state. We probably won't have the chance to come back. Good job and good luck for the future!!

We had a patio lunch and both ordered a hot sandwich. She had the Boston a turkey, stuffing sandwich, she loved it. I had the San Diego, a carne asada. I was not a fan. Pretty greasy and the flavor was just off. My onions rings where nice. The staff was awesome and bar was nice. I'd go again. Just will have something else to eat.

Beef dip. Au jus was extremely salty.

$9 a beer for Pacifico is real, real steep. I had 4 beers and didn't even eat and my bill was $45. Ridiculous prices.

There's plenty of options in the area but what caught our eye, Park101's decked out for the World Cup games. "Let's go!" Parking? No parking lot of its own. You'll look for street or if looping isnt your thing, parking is available in the plaza across the street. What's the 411? Park101 is an order and pay at counter first. You'll get a number, find a seat and they'll bring the food to you. They have a nice courtyard. Plenty of TV's. We got in just before 3pm on a Tuesday and we had pretty much any table to choose from. We grabbed a seat in the shade and after 4 rounds of drinks and a 96 minutes of World Cup soccer we were set! I had the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. I've been to Philly, had some of the best by way of locals in Philly. Park101 is more of a Torta vibe. To call this a Philly sets certain expectations and this, although a good sandwich, is not a Philly. Overall, Park101 hits the spot. Great place to enjoy some food and libations, under the California skies. Catch a game and hang out.

The majority of the outdoor seating downstairs was in direct sun, compared to the upper deck that had a bunch of umbrellas. I assume this was because they didn't want to block the large TVs. They also have some indoor seating and a small bar downstairs. This appeared to be a very popular place for watching sporting events. You order food before you enter and drinks at the bar past the host stand. Food was decent. My husband got the fish and chips and it was a very generous portion of 5 large pieces of battered fish with fries. I got the tri tip arugula salad and made it into a wrap, which was ok. The tri tip was pretty subtle. We got our son the kids cheeseburger and while it looked really good, I was surprised that they would put pickles, mustard, and thousand island dressing on a kids burger. There were two cheeseburger patties on it, but just unfortunate with the toppings as a lot of kids are picky with sauces. The fries were seasoned well and crispy.

AT THE INTERSECTION OF REGRET AND REMORSE…read more At what point does a cover charge become just a discrete way of saying "you're not welcome, only tolerated"? Nothing humbles you faster than paying a $40 daytime 'cover charge' to sit uncomfortably with alchy-bros and their untreated mental health issues. We came to this Irish Tavern because...well... St. Patricks Day. The bouncer wouldn't let us in until we paid the extortion. It's no wonder millennials are broke. I didn't really wanna pay, but we found such a great parking spot... He took my cash and stuffed it in his pocket. For $40, we assumed something legendary was awaiting us inside. Is Cillian Murphy here? Or maybe a Glen Hansard cover band.? At the very least a Conan O'Brien blowup doll? Nope... just canned music playing over speakers that crackled like grandpa's radio. So there's no band... But, for $40 there better be at least something I haven't seen before. Perhaps they've summoned St. Patrick from the dead? Or figured out how to make everyone's red flags visually appear. Or how to uncrack an egg... Something! But nope, it was just like a regular day that wasn't $40 to get in. And here's the thing: the food and drink are ALSO more expensive than usual! So they already fleeced me for $40, and now two drinks are also $40? Two corned beef plates: another $50!? It was average to below average. It was like they took every Irish Tavern in the world, put 'em all in a blender, and hit puree. It was just... easy-to-chew mediocrity. Honestly, I've been to better pubs at Holiday Inn. As we walked out, the same bouncer was still collecting his shakedown fees. But this time the cover charge was only $10. Only 45 minutes later, the cover charge for the privilege of... well nothing... lowered exponentially!?! This isn't an Irish tavern, this is a scam with a jukebox. Pro tip: I've paid $40 for many things. A glow-in-the-dark toilet seat. A Texas-shaped waffle maker. A desktop punching bag for when Yelp takes down my reviews. But I'd rather pay $40 to NOT go to a mediocre Irish bar. Next year, I'm staying home to enjoy a $3 Guinness in my garage. No cover. Curated playlist. Parking's up front. Just me, my red flags, and zero regret.
