What a fantastic spot! We sat on the rooftop patio, which was beautifully open and breezy. The food was fresh, vibrant, and delicious--completely light and non-greasy. To top it off, the service was wonderfully attentive and friendly. Between the great staff and the incredible ambiance, I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

My family and I came here for Happy Hour 3-5pm after our short road trip from Santa Ana. We very happy with our choice! Food was great, beers were cold and refreshing. Every bite was satisfying! It was an extremely hot day so we wanted to sit indoors. It seemed like it was short staff but even so I thought service was well and timing was on point. There's lots of Finney's opening up now, so I'd definitely go back to one in OC.

Plain wings - sauce on the side

Sports bar/brewery with a lot of TV's making it great for game days. Pretty large food menu and craft beers, rotating taps and cocktails. We ordered wings, sauce on the side because they were not able to accommodate a half/ half order unless we ordered plain wings and put the sauce on ourselves. Protein quality was good, sauces were middle of the road (we tried habanero buffalo and yuzu buffalo). Service was good when we were able to get the bartenders attention. It wasn't busy by the time we arrived (8pm), yet service was slow and inconsistent. We would go back for game days simply because they have the most TV's of anyplace we've tried in Oceanside so far. It has brewery vibes even though it's a restaurant. Pretty good sports crowd. Street parking only, like most places in the area.

We stopped by Finney's Oceanside on July 4th while looking for a place that was open due to the Independence Day festivities that weekend. Having previously been to the one up in Orange, we decided that this was the best place to go. We were seated right away on the rooftop deck with a pleasant view of the downtown area. Our server was very patient with us and once we were able to find an order that we both liked (we were both exhausted from the San Diego County fair) our food was delivered to us in under 10 minutes. Our meals were both very well done in terms of quality and presentation. The biggest issue that we had is that because there is so much corn on the menu and because we generally avoid corn whenever possible due to dietary restrictions it seemed to really minimize what we could get as even most salads had corn inside of it. The portions provided were perfect for the two of us and the bison burger in particular was delivered to my exact cooking specification. What's interesting is that this restaurant does not include any sides in terms of their menu offerings so what feels like a discount when you see a burger for $13 to $15 you actually make up for by having to spend 4 to 6 dollars on a side. Well, I understand that this may be easier for them with some of their customers. It is not a trend that I enjoy seeing as ultimately the prices are not as cheap as you would expect. They were a bit busier than expected on the holiday, but that's because so many other restaurants were closed so it looks like a large part of the crowd went to Oceanside as well just to go to Finney's. Overall, we enjoyed our experience, but the menu having limited options if anyone has a hard time with corn really puts a damper on it along with having to pay for the sides separately makes for a weird experience. Even with those in mind, I still give it four stars.

First time at this location in Oceanside. We went early so there was no problem getting a table. The shrimp taco was amazing and tasty. The two bowl were delicious. Compliments to the chef. The vibe at the restaurant was relaxed. They do have tables upstairs too. We really enjoyed our meal. The service was excellent and the server was kind and service with a smile.

Stopped by this spot for some dinner last week and got the bowl. The place was pretty busy and it had a nice vibe inside. The restroom being downstairs in the basement was interesting as well.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon and sat up on the roof top. Vibes were great, views were nice and the service and food was impeccable!! My friend and I got 2 different burgers and shared each other's half. My A5 burger was so tasty as well as her bison burger. Flavors on point. Definitely will be back to try some other options on the menu, they have plenty of to choose from.

We ordered delivery. The place did an excellent job getting the food to us and it was packaged well including separating items for best keeping. We loved it. The tortilla chips were great. The tomato bisque was properly done. We will be back.

Maddi at the upstairs bar during Friday happy hour was an absolute machine, handling everyone without breaking a sweat. My girlfriend and I lucked out with zero wait and got a skinny house margarita, a guava margarita, coconut shrimp, and chicken and waffles. The coconut shrimp is non-negotiable, you have to order it. Burgers and wings are great too. It's clean, family-friendly, plenty of seating inside and out, so just budget extra time for parking because, well, Oceanside. This is my little escape when I'm missing Cabo vibes!

Finneys happy hour is the best! $6 IPA's $6-$7-$8-$9 appetizers that are regular size! The food is delicious! The staff is super fun and engaging! I had a really great time and will definitely be back! Check them out from 3pm-5pm to get the best deal La during happy hour!

This Finney's is not quite up to snuff compared to the Finney's in Orange. Triple Smash Burger had good flavor. Fried pickles were lacking in flavor. Others in our party said the tater tots and the Finney burger had a weird taste to it (and they frequent the one by Chapman College). Service was somehow fairly fast but unattentive. I wouldn't come back to this location when eating in Oceanside. Other better restaurants here.

While on vacation in Oceanside with our kids and another family, we stopped into Finney's Crafthouse for lunch since it's just a short walk from the pier. It turned out to be a great choice for a casual, family-friendly meal. We started with the coconut shrimp and the buffalo cauliflower, both were good. I went with the mahi tacos for lunch which were great. The kids all ordered cheeseburgers off the kids' menu and were totally happy with their meals. The adults sampled a few different beers, and with such a large beer menu, there was plenty to try. Since it had started to rain, we grabbed a table inside, but they also have a large outdoor patio that would be perfect on a nicer day. Finney's had good food and lots of choices, something for everyone.

The vibes were cool. Staff was attentive and sweet. And honestly great bar food. We just got apps the chicken and waffles so freaking good hot chicken sandwich was really good there. Onion rings are good. They have good ranch. Cheesesteak egg rolls tasted homemade they were good! They have homemade ketchup. It's a little bit spicy and kind of taste like a bloody Mary and it's delicious. Lol as for the cocktails, not really my favorite lower quality ingredients better to stick with the basics unless you like fairly sweet flavoring. Then it might be your favorite go to.

My husband and I stopped in to Frankie's on a recent Saturday at 5pm. Our kiddo had a performance down the street at 6pm so we had a little time to kill beforehand. The neighboring spots looked busy so we decided to go with Frankie's, seeing as they were less inundated at the time and we had a time constraint. Another allure was the sandwich board at the front door advertising discounted cocktails - sold!! Inside there were a handful of patrons at the bar, another table with two additional patrons and maybe a couple on the patio so it was fairly quiet and slow, so it looked promising. We headed up to the bar and hung out behind two empty barstools, the single female bartender greeted us and said she'd be right with us, but then continued chatting up the seated patrons, serving them and their friends that had just joined (AFTER we'd arrived). We moved a little further down to the handoff area where she was making drinks to save her having to come back to us again, and stood there for probably 10 minutes while she took orders and made all the drinks. We commented that she looked like she could definitely use a hand, and she said they were still adjusting into summer hours and determining whether more coverage was needed at this time - I figured 5pm on a Saturday should be primetime, so I'm not sure in what universe having a single bartender makes any sense. Finally we placed our cocktail orders, waited while they were made, and then put our card down for the tab. After we'd paid, I noticed the cocktails were more expensive than advertised on the sandwich board out front - I couldn't find a disclaimer anywhere that said only certain cocktails were included, so while it was a bummer I wasn't about to wait another 10-15 minutes to catch her attention and ask for clarification. Just a heads up to beware of whatever is advertised that might summon you in from the sidewalk, and make sure you ask before you make your selection. Drinks were very subpar, nothing special to write home about. While I can appreciate the Gatsby-esque vibe they're trying to uphold at Frankie's, they really should increase their staffing especially during prime weekend and evening hours, and be more transparent about their specials and what's included and what's not. Hindsight is 20/20, and the low volume of patrons when everything else around it was going off was probably a sign, so we'll skip Frankie's our next go around.

In this case, "low-key" refers to a tiki bar that is not over-the-top; one that doesn't cause you to enter into an entirely different reality. There's a time and place for that sort of tiki bar but in a small coastal town perhaps you don't want or need to enter a fourth dimension. The Lobby is small (though larger than I'd anticipated), not noticeably dark (like many in the genre), and outfitted with a nice array of tiki-themed tchotchkes. Scooby Doo, playing silently on a small tv above the bar, is a perfect accompaniment to the pleasing decor. I both ate and drank here and found nothing not to enjoy. Tiki bars generally elicit happiness in me and this one, with its excellent server, did not change that mindset. An Astro Chimp ($14) was my tiki drink of choice, mostly because I was interested in trying a cocktail featuring cold brew. Very good, and it did not keep me up all night. Fish & Chips ($23) was a sizable and satisfying portion, plenty there to be shared by two. "Brussels" ($11), were also quite good and ample. You will not go hungry if you choose to dine here. The Lobby is a fun choice for your time in Oceanside. Stylish and satisfying on every front, I'd happily return. Other stuff: * There is apparently a stairway-accessible rooftop deck here but it was closed for a private event during my visit. If open, definitely worth checking out. * 5% surcharge is automatically added to everything you spend here.

I wouldn't call this place a great dinner spot, not because of the food but because of the atmosphere. Even though we enjoyed all our food, my husband was in a bit of hurry to get out of here because he was really uncomfortable with the seating. The seating is more like patio-style furniture, so the chairs are very low. Since he is on the taller side, his legs were all bunched up the whole time. We had made reservations, but we didn't know that booking "Standard" meant that we were going to be sitting in the hotel pool area... this was probably our biggest complaint. Even though the view was spectacular, it was interrupted by kids jumping in the pool and occasionally splashing us and also just running by us. Also because we were by the pool, our cocktails came in plastic glasses which also made us feel a little slighted, especially since the cocktails are pretty pricey. The service was just okay. Our server was nice and we didn't ever feel like we were being neglected even though we were over by the pool and not in the main area. I just feel there wasn't anything remarkable about the service. I think when you are expecting to pay higher prices for an experience, you want more personable servers. All this to say, we were really happy with all the food we had! We had the 1/2 dozen oysters (my only complaint is that they did not disclose where they were from on the menu so you don't really know what you are paying for and it is pricey), the sea bass ceviche (super yummy!), the lamb, and the prawn special. I did not shut up about how yummy the prawns were all night, even after we left! Anyway, I think I would come back for drinks and maybe a dish or two, but we definitely won't be coming back for date night dinner again.

And honestly, that would be cool if the flow was there, but you can kind of tell that all the ideas aren't fully there yet. For starters, the drinks are expensive, which I get because you're in Oceanside by the beach and I'm sure rent isn't cheap. But man, I paid $18 for a coffee-style cocktail and it was pretty bad. They put this whipped cream on top that just didn't work with the drink and was actually pretty nasty. They definitely put alcohol in it, which was good I guess, but overall it was probably one of the worst cocktails I've had in a while. My wife and I also walked up to the bar and waited to be attended. One of the waitresses was busy cleaning and organizing things, going back and forth from inside to outside, while another waitress was socializing with a group of guys for probably 6-7 minutes before noticing us standing at the front of the bar. I really don't mind waiting, but when you combine that with the quality of the drinks and the lack of attention, it just makes it seem like no one really cares that much. That's kind of why I made the comment in the beginning. The place has a cool idea behind it, but you can tell it's missing some of the professionalism and attention to detail that comes with running a good bar. The one thing that really saves this place is the view. It's a really nice view, and during sunset I can definitely see why people come here. Other than that though, I personally wouldn't spend my money here again.

I had gotten an email wishing me a happy birthday and to come in for a FREE ENTREE. I was like,…read morewhat!? Yeah a lot of places give a free dessert but you almost never see a free dinner. I instantly set a reservation (didn't really need it) and we arrived around 4pm on a Tuesday and sat on the patio. Happy hour is daily from 4-6pm and if you sit on the recently renovated patio, drinks are 50% off. I ordered the Ribeye as my birthday entree and we also ordered the Fried Zucchini ($7), Popcorn Chicken ($9), Guajillo Braised Pork Shoulder ($21) and several cocktails ($7 each during HH). Everything was great honestly. No complaints. My wife REALLY loved the braised pork shoulder. My steak was excellent and even though it was free, $32 for a ribeye is the lowest you'll find anywhere. It was nice having not having to fight for a seat. Enjoying a cocktail on the patio in perfect weather is something everyone should try. Highly recommend coming to Mission Ave Bar & Grill for happy hour and to check out the new patio. Make sure to register for their mailing list to get birthday offers too!
