I am highly disappointed in Drain King. Had them out to snake a sink drain and once they started it was discovered the pipe was broken, they could only snake to the break. I had the pipe replaced. Called Drain King to come back to continue snaking but was told they were charging me again. This is unacceptable and not a way to do business. When told I was to be charged twice, I rather do business with someone else. read more

Lenny came out to give us an estimate on a huge o o Len with a leak from the bathroom to my Liborio ñ ceiling. He is the 4th person to access this problem in 5 years. I never mentioned others had attempted to fix this issue. He assessed the plumbing problem and fixed it. He had people to refer if we want to get an estimate. It took a plumber, tile person and carpenter to get this problem resolved but it was done right! Are they the cheapest? No but they are fair! read more

James and his team were terrific to work with. I'm a new homeowner, and had very little idea what the problem was when the drains in my house backed up. I called these guys and they sent a team over to my place within half an hour. The first two people on site were courteous and nice to work with. They even insisted on putting down drop clothes to make sure they didn't get my floor dirty (even though I insisted it wasn't a problem). James then came by slightly afterwards, to check in and see how everything was going. He talked me through everything he was looking into, and then offered a few suggestions of what we could do to fix it. There were even a few small things James noticed when he was here (our kitchen sink had a slight leak, and a pipe was installed incorrectly, and James took the time to fix those for free). Even though we found out our house is going to need a bit more work, James wasn't pushy and told us the best next steps-if we'd like to move forward. James is a house-saver! It was 7:45 in the evening, and when I went to turn on the hot water, there was just a trickle. I went downstairs to check out the water heater, and there was a flood in the basement with gallons of water gushing out of the ceiling in the bathroom. I ran upstairs and first called that well-known plumbing company, who told me they could have someone here at 8:00 a.m. the next day. I told them I would have to build an ark by then, but they said they couldn't come any sooner. So much for 24/7 service. I then went on Yelp (with a rising flood increasing every minute), and saw that the Drain King had several good reviews, so I hurriedly called them. The woman took my name and number, and within minutes James called me. The first thing he did was to walk me through finding and turning off the shut-off valve for the main water line. Just by doing that over the phone he probably saved me hundreds of dollars worth of water damage. He was at my house 45 minutes later, and was able to locate and repair a burst pipe. Called for a leak in a cast iron pipe in my cellar, and they came out to take care of the immediate issue. The work itself was fine, but I was told the job would require more work and replacement of pipe behind a wall and beneath a floor. My complaint is with cost. I was charged $600 for 2 hours of work and a 10 foot section of PVC pipe, and then quoted that it would cost $800 for the remainder of the job - the best price they could offer. I was stunned by the price - $300 per hour! Called another plumber who finished the job for $160 in less than an hour. read more

You don't necessarily want to have a texting relationship with your plumber, but when you live in an old house with old pipes, it's important! James has been a life saver to us on multiple occasions and he's always there very quickly--sometimes even the same day. Our next door neighbor's pipes burst over the winter when they were out of town and they returned on a Sunday night and we gave them his number--he was there first thing Monday morning. Succeeded where all other failed. After flooding twice in one week we finally got help from James. We had estimates and ideas from three other companies on how to repair our storm drains and decided to get one other opinion from The Drain King. Called this afternoon for a leaking sink that became a real problem with some minor flooding. I wasn't sure of who to call as I am not from this area and noticed some good reviews on here so I gave them a call. The main sewer line at my rental property was clogged and backing up into the basement on a Saturday evening and after frantically calling several different plumbing companies, The Drain King was the only one to respond. The owner, James, was very helpful and considerate. I explained to him that I live in New York and was unable to meet him there, He said it wouldn't be a problem and he would call me with a price before he did any work and that I can pay him with a credit card when he was done, he even sent me a video with his phone showing me the work that he did.
