This company came highly recommended from a friend of mine and they came out quite quickly and performed the work I requested, BUT DID NOT COMPLETE MY JOB. During the process, I expressed concern that the driveway would be bit higher than the walkway to my front door and that water would gather. He assured my that it wouldn't. Just over a week after the driveway was poured (asphalt) , we had a major rain storm and water did in fact pool on my front walk way (almost 2 inches). I called Mike back and he agreed with me when I requested that a channel needed to be cut in the driveway so water could flow down and away from the house (after seeing the amount of water I had via video clip I sent him) that was the first week in August,2024. I sent him both emails and texts several times requesting that this channel get cut. He said he would have someone come out and take care of it. So on the 19th of Sept, (they STILL HADN'T come out and complete my job), I had someone come out and cut the channel for me. It cost me $125.00 I have reached out several times to Mike and he chose to ignore my texts and email with regards to getting reimbursed for a task that needed to be completed by him. I have waited over 2 business days to write this review in hopes we would come to a resolve to my circumstance. So its a "NO" from me .....I cannot recommend this company. (This complaint as well as another one from another consumer went unanswered which gave them an F rating) James John Delaney-owner Creative Drives and Patio 95 Franklin Tpke Apt#2A Mahwah, NJ 07430 License # 13VH05315000 (Mailing address 48 Bi State Plaza Old Tappan NJ 07675) My parents recently had their driveway, brick retaining wall and steps done by your company. The quality of work is completely unsatisfactory and I would like to discuss this as soon as possible. Your company poorly attempted to correct gross violations of code after it was initially completed. The mortar joints are uneven and of different colors. The drains in the wall are uneven and were constructed without wire mesh to prevent dirt from washing out and the driveway measurements are incorrect. Also, after trying to fix the violations, the wall and steps were left in a state that would be impossible to correct. After consulting with another construction company, the legality of your contract and solicitation of business also comes into question. I would also like to add that I believe that the project was done without the proper permits or legally required inspections. Please contact me by 12/30/17 or further action will be taken. I was contacted by Delaney in March '18 after he was contacted by the NJ Dept of Consumer Affairs and he stated that he would correct the problem and acknowledged the horrible quality of work. Neither I nor the Dept. of Consumer Affairs were able to make contact after that. Their NJ license expired on 3/31/18. I then tracked "Creative Drives and Patios" to previous addresses of 29 Pine St. Foxboro, MA and 2 Bridle Ln. Hicksville NY which have also been closed. Their new business "The Driveway Company" started on 3/30/18 in Joliet, IL. They were renting a house on an asphalt supply company's property. I spoke to the owner and he stated that they left approximately March of this year and went to the mid-west. This company absconded from NJ without correcting the issues which were covered under their so called "warranty" and also this business or, more specifically, its owners need to be investigated for fraud. They are a gypsy company and have done this in at least three states that I am aware of and will do it again. They have had numerous complaints that have been unresolved.
