i used to come to this place semi regularly to get new jewelry, i never really went for other piercing needs bc it's a retail store and that feels off. IT IS OFF. worker was rude, ignored me, was very upset i even asked for help, then tore the tissue of of my lip piercings improperly shoving plastic retainers in. i inquired about the bar being really short and i was brushed off. DO NOT GET PIERCED OR JEWELRY CHANGES HERE. when i went to my normal piercer the next day it was so swollen she was barely able to get the retainer off. i was told the worker at the dungeon had essentially torn through my lip piercings with blunt plastic. hurt more than the piercings. read more

A few months ago I was shopping around looking for a fair price to get my nose pierced. I came across The Dungeon on a Google search and called in. Freyja answered all of my questions and quoted me the best price in town, so I made an appointment with her. When I came in, she was super friendly and professional. She did an incredible job with my piercing and to top it off, when (by my own mistake) I lost my stud she replaced it for me and put it in so my hole wouldn't close up. Only charging me for the replacement jewelry and not her time. Top class if you ask me. I was so pleased with my experience that I sent my kids mother there when she asked me where a good place to get new piercings was. Freyja, again did amazing work and my EX left with the same great experience I had. The employee was so rude and wouldn't let me get the jewlery I wanted. She continued to say that she has the experience and was clearly very high on something. After about 10 minutes of going back and forth over sizing of the jewlery I was getting, she finally came to the conclusion that I was correct about the size I wanted from the start. Then, she said she was in no rush to check me out, told me to keep looking around and started eating her food. Fantastic experience from beginning to end!! Made an appointment for my 14 yo daughter to get her septum pierced for her birthday. Booking an appointment was easy and fast, availability was great- plenty of appointments available at various times/ days that worked with our schedule. The retail portion of the shop is dope, and the vibe is super chill. Summer was super professional and instantly made us comfortable. She processed the necessary paperwork for a minor to get pierced and was super patient while we shopped for jewelry. Also very knowledgeable and helpful when discussing the process and gauge sizing. Go to any other shop nearby. I've had a Daith, Tragus, and third lobes all done by summer. She's a nice lady, but every single piercing I've had done by her I have later found out was done poorly/incorrectly. My daith was pierced too shallow and ended up rejecting so had to take it out after having it for four years. This was back when she worked at a different shop. Then I came in to get my third lobes at the dungeon and she was now working there. The placement was WAY too high. Before she pierced them I told her the marking looked high and she said it was just cause the ink from the pen dotting was seeping outwards. She pierced them and I immediately knew they were way too high. Like BAD. They wouldn't heal so I went to Avenue Tattoo to have their piercer look at it and she was shocked at the placement. She told me in the last week she had two other people come in with the same exact issue, all done by Summer. Also, prior to that whole fiasco I went to get my nose hoop switched to a stud. The piercer that time, not summer, accidentally took the needle threader and repierced a closed hole I had above my current nose piercing hole. That was an entirely different problem and I now have scar tissue on my nose. Anyways just stay clear. There are other good shops in Santa Rosa that are 100% better. read more

The Dungeon is horribly disorganized and unprofessional. I only continued going there because of Summer, but this was definitely the last time. Here are my two negative experiences: #1: I got my nose pierced here a year ago. When I arrived, I was greeted by a different piercer than I selected when I made the appointment online. She informed me that she was an apprentice and that I should have been notified of this ahead of time. I wasn't. Not only was I horribly nervous to get my first facial piercing done by an apprentice, but this was also her first nose piercing! Me being the passive person that I am, I decided to through with it. She had to text a photo of the placement to her mentor to make sure it was correct which was a little nerve-wracking. Thankfully, she did do a good job (from my unprofessional opinion). #2: I had an MRI and needed help getting my jewelry out before the procedure which was later that day. I made an appointment online in advance. When I arrived for my appointment, I was told that my piercer wasn't feeling well and was not coming in. I was not notified ahead of time and there was no other piercer on site. Thankfully, I was able to walk in to The Hole Thing and they were able to help me out in time for my MRI appointment. Going forward I will be getting pierced at The Hole Thing or Sonoma County Piercing and I recommend you do the same. P.S. I tried to post this review on their booking website, but they didn't approve it... shady AF. read more

I've been going here for years and was always satisfied Summer is by far the most rude piercer I've ever met. She even had the nerve to ask my friend to leave a review. She seemed drunk or on drugs. Our piercings are crooked. I tried buying jewelry and she talked me out of it. Why sell it if its just going to give us an infection? Not sure how shes pieced this long if she sucks so hard at it. I deleted my original post about this place but I'm putting it back because people should know when considering getting pierced here. I got my labret pierced here, I had it for one week and it's because of a few reasons. 1. My original piercer gave me a backing on the piercing that was sharp and irritated my gums. I should also mention she hardly gave me any care instructions, so I was not informed to avoid salty or spicy food & to use non-alcoholic mouth wash, just regular mouth wash. 2. I had to go back in to meet with the other piercer to change the backing, and they ran out of the correct tool to tighten the piercing... So she had to do it with a bigger tool. Which was bad because when I went home, it fell right off while I was eating. So that same day I had to go back in. This time, they had no tools at all in their shop, so she had to twist it back on by hand. And it hurt, she pinched my skin and because the piercing was still in the healing process it made it very warm and swollen from all the fondling. I do want to acknowledge the second piercer going out of her way to help me when she wasn't supposed to be at work, she did what she could with the available resources the shop had, this is completely on management, especially because she couldn't just give me a refund, they told her to put it back on even though she didn't have the right tools to do it. I go home, the next day it falls off while I'm eating . I put it back in. It falls off again, while I'm at work. It falls off again. For the last time after a week of having it, I was eating and the entire piercing came out. I'm frustrated because several times during the process of having to go back in, change the backing, and then go back to have them put it back on because it fell off, I asked to just get a refund. I've never had to deal with anything like this with a piercing. It was unprofessional and honestly I'm surprised my skin didn't scar. This review is mostly to inform the management of The dungeon to make sure they always have the correct tools on hand! And to have the piercers give proper care instructions and pieces that they know won't irritate a client. And also, when things like this happen they should give a refund! It's not my responsibility to take a loss financially for the businesses lack of tools and jewelry to fix my piercings issue. Would recommend buying clothes and what not here, but get pierced at a local tattoo shop or by a professional piercer with their own business. read more

Friendly, competent people! Marvel pierced my ears about 4 1/2 mo. ago & they did a great job, all while quietly explaining the steps before & during their work. Also a great shop for fetish items & smoke stuff (I'm into the former but not the latter, because I've never smoked, but even I can tell the back room smoke-shop area looks well stocked.) They make me feel valued as an ongoing customer, even tho my earlobes are the only part of my body I've ever wanted to modify, so no more piercing business from me. Fetish-wear & adult toys? That's an other matter! ;-) I did discover Coochy brand shaving creame there, and it promotes itself as a after-shampoo hair conditioner, too. I'm usually a typical lazy guy who buys 2-in-1 shampoo-conditioners, but I tried Coochy as directed (let it sit in your hair for 2 min. or more) and the results are OUTSTANDING! If I had know how much nicer my hair could feel with a separate conditioner I would have started using that decades ago! First of all, I had my nose pierced about 7 years ago and I had to take it out because it was hurting and just a mess. I went to the dungeon last night 3/15 and met a very nice piercer. Blue hair. Tattoos. Super chill and nice. I totally just forget her name. I was expecting when she pierced my nose for my eyes to water and for it to hurt the way it did last time. But I shit you not- I didn't even feel it. I had to ask if she was already done! Amazing! And she's only been doing it for 4 years. I felt comfortable and totally amazed by her! Called to confirm they did piercings titanium jewelry as I have serious allergies to other metals, lady said yes, so I made an appt and drove a half hour to get there because they had good reviews. Got there and had to wait 10 mins past my appt time as she messed up the piercing before mine, then came to check me in and told me they don't actually pierce with titanium only surgical steel (wtf?). Took my ID and then didn't give it back, didn't call me or anything to let me know they still had it. read more

I came in to see Rozé for a septum piercing and to have her help me get some jewelry back in after an MRI. She did the anatomical inspection on my septum and it was deviated, so she warned that healing could be painful and tricky. Trusting her professional opinion, I opted to pierce my other tragus instead. The piercing was nearly painless and healed up wonderfully. She helped me get my jewelry put back in place as well and didn't charge me when she could have. I found Rozé to be pleasant, competent, and funny- and the online booking was a super easy. I will 100% be returning asap- time for a conch piercing I think. Thanks Rozé! And also to comment on what other posters have said, the other two folks in the lobby were not overly friendly... true, but my appointment was with Rozé so I didn't necessarily expect them to stop what they're working on to help me. read more

Went in for a quick supportive piercing service and I happened to arrive early to my appointment and was met with a very unfriendly and rude piercer (I believe their name was Marvel) who told me to come in on time next time instead of just asking me to wait which I would have gladly done. During the service, they were also just not providing a safe and comfortable space for getting any type of piercing procedure. Normally I never write reviews for places, but this time I felt like I had to. Do not go here for piercings. I went to get my first piercing, a septum, which is one I've wanted my whole life so I decided to go here on my 18th birthday. As soon as I went in I wasn't greeted at all, my friend had to flag down an employee and tell them I had an appointment. I met my piercer, Freya, and she only checked my ID. Didn't have me sign any consent forms etc. then we went into the piercing room and she proceeded to go on a rant about her boss and how she wanted me to pay her via venmo or cash, so she didn't have to tell her boss about the piercing. She was extremely unprofessional and made inappropriate comments which I will not go into because they really grossed me out. Then she pierced my septum, luckily she was clean and sterile about it. But when I looked over to my friends, they all told me it was crooked and Freya was like "oh I guess it is! What is up with people moving on me today?! you must have moved your head!" Which I did not. I didn't move at all, all I did was breathe. So she took out the crooked septum and offered to repierce it. Which I mistakenly let happen, because the second time she couldn't get the jewelry through. She was clearly very stressed out and guilty but didn't want to admit her fault, so she blamed it on an old apprentice who had mislabeled the tapers and the jewelry. I left the place balling my eyes out from the disappointment and pain. I really don't want anyone to have the same experience that I did and I really hope The Dungeon can do better with their piercers and I hope Freya learns how to properly give piercings. read more

I stopped in here just last week to look at some jewelry, specifically for my ears. I was satisfied with the visit and left with two pairs that I like -- on clearance even! They have a pretty decent selection of jewelry, with different sizes, styles and mediums (e.g. wood, plastic, glass etc.). Now, while I did like what I found, the vibe from the staff member there was pretty uninviting. Certainly not hostile or aggressive, but definitely didn't give me the impression that they wanted me there. I realize some of these places are "hard-core" and "rough" and my image doesn't really scream that (or anything -- mine has more of a whisper :P), but still, it's a place of business. And as a place of business, I expect that they want my business. Pretty sure that's how it works. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. My friend called four hours before her appointment to check if they pierced with titanium which they said yes. We came all the way down to Santa Rosa because this had good reviews which it shouldn't. We got there and the lady who is supposed to pierce my friends ears was piercing some other people while we waited no big deal but we believe she messed up on their piercings so she had to take an extra 10 minutes during her piercing time to fix it while we had other places to be. She even admitted she had a "hiccup " when we finally talked to her she said that they didn't have any titanium piercings and that it was a miscommunication between the staff. When it was time the piercer went on a covid rant talking about her uncle and how he passed from covid and we couldn't get pierced. I'm delighted to write a review on this establishment. After careful research and walk ins at two other places I walked in at The Dungeon. I was greeted by Kelly with a smile. She asked if I needed help finding or had questions. (Normally I'm not shy at all, I am in regards to piercings that involve "needles".) I build up courage and off I went to ask. Kelly, is very knowledgeable and it showed. I had done my research by reading previous reviews and checking out The Dungeons Facebook page. There I read Kelly teaches new talent interested in the art of tattoos and piercings. Kelly went on to explain the process 1) hygiene/sterile 2) date/time 3) deposit 4) picked out the jewelry She cleared all my worries and answered my questions on the spot. So I booked a piercing for the next day with Kelly. The whole thing ideally for a dude is nerve wrecking. I was calmed and knowing what I was about to do involved a needle, I was very calmed. Kelly and I talked & shared some like minded experiences. Sooo. 1-2 eternity seconds and a squeal later... It was done. The piercing looks great. A month later and Im loving it, only regret would be not doing it sooner. As I mentioned, I did my research and walk ins. The Dungeon did it for me. Kelly, you're awesome!
