They made me feel at ease and didn't rush me through the process. They are very friendly! My husband was looking for an engagement ring and in every previous store he went to workers told him that he needs to save up some money. This was the first store where people actually helped us. They helped us choose an amazing ring for me, but eventually, it didn't work out. First one of the small diamonds fell out after 2 days of wearing it ( it was a vintage ring, so not a big deal) and we returned it. They were very understanding and replaced the diamond in a week. But when we picked it up again one of the metal parts ( which was holding a big diamond) was broken. And in my country tradition, it means bad luck in marriage, So we returned it. These are "fine" jewelers and quite specific about what they purchase. I was there to sell some of my relatives (deceased) jewelry -- both gold and costume -- and they only chose one chain for $20. It's housed in a lovely old building which was well-heated. Too hot for me though. I suppose if you're in the market to purchase some high-end jewelry, this is the place...but not so much if you want to sell family heirlooms and you aren't a Rockefeller. read more

I've gone into Eric's shop on 4th to sell items, but also to indulgently peruse the unique, dazzling, quality treasures displayed for sale. I feel safe with the uber security they feature with their two or three customers at a time policy. I am not one to write up reviews but this has to be shared. I went in to see about selling a beautiful piece of jewelry I had, with an appraisal to back up what my piece exactly was. I was helped by an older gentleman, glasses I believe his name was Larry. He looked at the piece and the appraisal and you could see he was not interested or maybe that was his tactic. He never gave me an offer only asked what I wanted for it. When I tried to inquiere what he would offer, his response was, " nothing that will make you happy." I then brought out a second piece, blue sapphire and diamond tiffany tennis bracelet. I noted that I believed it was platinum. He arrogantly said, gold is more valuable than platinum right now." He picked it up, took a glance at it and asked what I wanted for it. I gave him a number and he said I'll be right back. I could see he went to a computer, I waiting patiently and he returned saying that he could get the bracelet for less at wholesale price. I knew this guy was again not interested as if he would have really looked at the bracelet he would have noticed a diamond missing. I said okay, put my brackets away. He then said "if you find your self needing money, car problems, taxes then come back in and we can re visit a deal." I was pretty stunned, I really couldn't believe he just said that. I was appalled at his behavior, it was not the treatment you should give to someone, make them feel like you have garbage when you have valuable pieces. I will never be back and have made my friends and family know that this place treats you like dirt. I sent an email to the owner a few weeks ago to let him know about my experience. I didn't get a reply back, not every a thank you for your feedback generic message. Really terrible business if you ask me. Update: the owner responded to my review on Google reviews and defended his employee saying that he would have said what he said that I basically was believing that is what he was implying. I have no reason you lie about this I simply want this to not happen to anyone else. I still feel crappy about my experience. I read a couple other reviews and understand how frustrated they are too about the poor treatment. Maybe it as mentioned by another reviewer who though that maybe being/looking younger is where they think they can get away with it. You have been warned, go elsewhere! Very friendly staff. I made an appointment with them to sell all the jewelry my parents had collected with metal detectors over the years. My dad had sold many of the nicer wedding bands and engagement rings previously some place else, but I managed to sell the rings, some earrings and necklaces and walked away with much more than I expected. I had asked a friend for a good pawn shop or jeweler in the area to sell my jewelry to and she didn't think that any of them where operating. Then I saw the excellent review of Olde Towne on Yelp and decided to give it a try. I called and set up an appointment. I had silver rings and gold. Terry was very helpful and everyone wore masks and we conversed between a plastic shield. He demonstrated how he tests all the gold to determine its karat right in front of me, not in the back of the jewelry store, like I've had with other jewelers elsewhere. I thought I'd get just a few hundred for all of it, but I walked away with $1750. Terry was very knowledgeable and I plan to come back with more jewelry in the future. read more

From cleaning and polishing my necklaces and rings - to replacing the battery and cleaning my husband's Rolex - they take the time, are incredibly professional and reasonable, fair prices. I have been in the market for an Engagement ring for the better part of two years. We have searched high, and low for rings. We struggled to find something that met our expectations in quality, and fit within our budget. One Friday out of the blue, I stopped by Olde Town Jewelers after work. Upon entering I was promptly greeted by a delightful woman. I believe her name was Rose. But not too sure, she asked me a few questions about what type of ring, and stone I was looking for. She showed me a lot of beautiful rings. One of them was perfect in my opinion. I had a trade in, and she said I would have to speak with the owner Eric. To discuss the trade in. Upon speaking with Eric I let him know which ring had sparked my interest, and showed him the set that I had to trade in. I let him know that I was extremely interested in striking a deal with him on the ring. And I would be bringing my lady back in as soon as possible to see it. I text my girl friend to let her know that I had found this spectacular ring and if she could come home early for work to see it. Unfortunately she was not able to get home until about 5:15pm, I called the store to see what time they closed. I said I had been in earlier, and that I wanted to bring my lady in to see the ring. I was speaking on the phone with Eric the owner. He said I am sorry Mr. (my last name) we close at 5:30pm. But I will let my manager Terry know you will be in tomorrow, and I will let him know the trade in value of the set you are trading in etc. I was thrilled to say the least! The next day (Saturday)we woke up early, and headed down to Railroad square. We arrived 30min prior to them opening so we grabbed breakfast at omelet express. After breakfast we went in, and met with Terry. I pointed out the ring to Terry, and he pulled it from the case. Much to my surprise she liked it! So that was it. The deal was done, two years of searching for the perfect ring was finally over!!! Eric, Terry, and the rest of the staff at Olde Town Jewelers were all fantastic. They gave me an honest deal on both my trade in, and on the purchase of the item. I am thoroughly impressed by the staff, their level of service is top notch! And this store has fantastic inventory!
