It was in April that my, now Fiance, and I went looking for a jeweler to craft my dream engagement ring. I had drawn up a custom ring design inspired by my grandmother's ring. I wanted someone whose skills I could trust to provide feedback and use their experience to add to my design as needed, someone who could do everything in-house, and who could offer a competitive price. After meeting with two other local jewelers we agreed very quickly on Timothy Patrick. He met all of my criteria. My advice for a customer like me, is if you have a time frame in mind, tell him what it is. Since we didn't have a date in which we wanted the ring finished by, (and I didn't speak up about it) the ring did not get completed for 5 months (which was more than I had anticipated). Also, since I didn't know anything about the true process of ring fabrication, Timothy called me in many times, reassuring me that I would see what I was expecting once we got past all the beginning steps of wax carving, casting, engraving, etc. So it was not until the very last visit when he showed me a fully completed half of the ring (minus the stones being set) before all my concerns were assuaged. It was about 10 days after that visit that my Fiance, not to my knowledge, picked up the ring. Then the following weekend surprise proposed to me. To have a truly custom, one-of-a-kind ring is such a gift. Timothy set my Montana Sapphire, that I had purchased on my own in 2014 (I dreamed of having in my future engagement ring) and acquired for us the Moisannite side stones and the smaller Diamond stones to finish off the design. It is set in white gold and hand engraved by Timothy. He really is a true craftsman. read more

When I picked it up, I didn't notice until I got home. I brought it back to get the order corrected. No problem at all to get the adjustment. Timothy also cleaned Sofie's diamond ring after she asked him how to clean the ring. "You can clean it yourself with a little ammonia and water", he said, "but if you leave it with me and have a cup of coffee, I can get it much cleaner." I was astonished! It was twice as brilliant - looking as if it had just came out of a show case. "Bring your things in any time and I'll clean them for free!", he said. Earlier, I wanted to purchase a couple of necklaces that he didn't have. I described what I wanted. He brought out a large book full of photos of variations that I described in different lengths. My wife and I first met Tim after we bought a diamond cut by a friend. The diamond cutter referred us to Tim to set the diamond and he did an excellent job. I needed to have my ring sized and my wife told me I had one option - Tim. This ring has an intricate pattern on it and so you could see where it was joined and it used to bug me but I got used to it. I gave Tim the ring with no real instructions, I told him that I knew to expect a seam...... Well, I got the ring back today and I just walked out happy to have it back and it fit perfectly. I'm totally a fan. I love estate jewelry, and I bought and returned about five different estate wedding rings before finally finding one that I adored and that would pair well with my engagement ring. The problem? I bought it from an on-line shop "as is" and it was all beat to hell. But I knew it was the ring for me. After a couple of mediocre to bad experiences with other jewelers in the area, I stopped by this shop on a whim as I was walking by, to see if he'd be willing and able to do repair work on an estate piece. Timothy Patrick was a breath of fresh air. He gave me what I felt was a very honest and low-pressure assessment of the ring (including recommending that I not size it down because it is so old, but instead putting in sizing balls), and a very reasonable estimate for doing the work. My favorite part though was that HE is the one doing the work. You can see his bench right there behind the counter, and I loved the idea of actually speaking with the person who would be working on my ring. He was also able to do an appraisal for me since he was doing this work, saving me a trip to another jeweler, which I appreciate. The only downside was that it took a couple of weeks longer to complete the work than I was originally told, and I was the one who had to call to check in, rather than the other way around. It was still ready with room to spare before my out of town wedding though, and that's the important part. But the best part? Oh. My. GOODNESS!! I could not believe it was the same ring when I picked it up. I honestly thought maybe they made a mistake. It was--IS--just stunning. The work he did was impeccable, and the clean-up and touch up jobs he did were done carefully and with total respect to the original design. read more

They took down a few notes based on our description, and then Tim went on to create stunning rings for the both of us! My wife has a beautiful platnum band with custom Celtic knots antiqued on each side, with a beautiful diamond on top. The way he set the stone actually makes it look even larger than it is! I don't know how he did it, but it is quite impressive. He made me a fantastic platnum ring with an antiqued three cord strand weave. He made it with a comfort fit. Tim is very talented, and a nice guy to boot. and compared to some, his prices are reasonable. we had him make our wedding rings, after seeing ones he had done for friends that we reallly liked. We had something very specific in mind, pelicans circling the bands - and I will say that it seemed to take forever to get him to a design that didnt look like a dodo bird, we went around and around, sending him photos sketches everything, and his sketch would come back - dodod bird, oh no, not that. But in all fairness, he doesnt advertise as an artist specializing in bird illustrations for the audobon society, and we were being very particular about the design in question, and said illustration was squeezing onto a band 1/4" wide. In the end, we did indeed REALLY LIKE the finished rings. The biggest problem was he didn't complete my ring in time - this was a wedding, so the deadline was not fungible, right? - and while it was partly my fault - i rejected the design and asked him to re do it, or he would have made it in time - once he was off the hook for making the wedding, he took his sweet time, like another month, to finish my ring. Again, not totally his fault, and I was glad I had held out for the design I wanted, since 'm wearing this ring to the grave. THe most important part is, and the 4 stars are for - the beautiful rings we both wear. If I lived closer to SR I would definitely go back, but from a logistic point of view it was a pain in the neck. If you live near SR, I definitely recommend him. read more

My experience here was the best! After checking out at least 10 jewelry stores nothing fit my engagement ring in terms of wedding bands. It's an older setting and has a basket around the diamond which made it impossible for anything to sit flush. I wasn't able to find anything that I loved and that's when I walked into Timothy Patrick Jewelers. Michelle and Tim were both very helpful in interpreting what I wanted and making me feel comfortable. They discussed the time frame and prices were very reasonable. Michelle kept in contact with me from the wax mold to the final pickup. The ring is just what I wanted its perfect and exceeded my expectations. My husband and I were both overly impressed with his work. I have received many compliments and I've only had it for 2 days. Summary: Great experience, jewelry stays in house and is not sent anywhere, just keep in mind that your having something custom made and that takes time.
